Whenever I see pictures of the new Emma movie, I just get angry and it's so strange because I have no idea why I have strong feelings about this

#i guess i enjoyed the source material but #i never saw the gwyneth or romola garai versions #clueless is a classic of course #but the material always had such a small town feel #and emma is warm and sociable and the entire PLOT hinges on her good but misplaced intentions #so seeing these gifsets of this haughty stone faced girl #walking alone on these palatial grounds #i'm just like #that's not it #that's not the story #(and i don't get that feel from the gifsets of the romola version) #(which i have never seen either) #i just don't think austen adapts well to that aesthetic #but i will be quiet now
