For spooky nights- you know those deer that just aren't quite deer?
Where I live, deer are pretty much as common as birds and squirrels, so seeing them isn't usually a big deal. I went to my back door and turned on the porch light one night to try and gently coax a small group of them away from my mom's little vegetable garden. One rather large "deer" made direct eye contact with me through the back window and held it, and something about its gaze was weirdly unnerving, just seemed "off." I broke eye contact first, after an uncomfortable length of time, and walked away from the window. Something about it had chills going down the back of my neck. The other normal deer right next to it all behaved just fine, awkwardly glanced my way and moved on through to the neighbor's place, towards the woods. Usually they're kind of just "head empty" y'know? Slightly weird but generally rather silly and skittish creatures. That one's eyes were sharply focused yet all dark void, cold and soulless vibes. It didn't look injured or diseased, and the others were seemingly fine with it being in their company. I asked my mom a bit later to look through the window and see if it was still there. When it first spooked me she didn't really get what I meant, but after seeing it herself she was unsettled as well, and described it almost exactly the same way. The mood it cast lingered for the better part of the night, long after it walked away.
If it looks like something you know (like a dog/deer) but something is just off, or had that major uncanny valley vibe, well… Coughskinwalkercough
I actually have deer walking through my yard every damn day (legit have named a few of them actually) so yes I’m very familiar with how they behave and and yes, that isn’t normal behavior in the slightest.
They do tend to stare a bit if they’re curious or spooked but like you said, it’s a little vacant. That knowing look isn’t it, that’s the cue to fucking close your blinds and keep them closed. Acknowledging the thing certainly isn’t going to help, I think that really only encourages the creature 😬
Thank you for sharing anon, I hope whatever it was doesn’t come back 😶‍🌫️

spooky night: you know how they say "if you hear your name called in the woods or late at night, no you didn't?" well before I had heard that, a few years ago i heard my mother calling my name twice... she had passed years before
Damn that must have been horrifying, especially knowing that your mom wasn’t around to be calling…
And yes I’ve definitely heard about it, if something calls out to you no it didn’t, especially if you recognize the voice. I’ve always lived in areas that are pretty heavily surrounded by woods so it was common to hear spooky things about them. I’ve seen a lot of TikTok videos about Appalachia recently as well, I know there’s a whole bunch of ‘rules’ people are supposed to follow when going out into the woods and the voice thing is high up on that list.
I can’t say I’ve ever personally seen anything creepy in the woods, but I’ve definitely seen creepy shit just outside of the woods….
Thank you for sharing anon, and I’m sorry for your loss ♥️

Also, another one for spooky nights, I kinda have a strange sixth sense. This, I REALLY want to believe it to be just a mere coincidence. So.. since I was a kid I kinda sensed if in a room or house there's a strange spooky presence. Back at that time I thought I was just paranoid (mind you I was 7y/o) and a coward. My grandparents (dad side) had a vacation house and everytime we stayed there my nerves where on haywire. I couldn't stay alone in a room for more than 2 mins because I felt watched, I couldn't even go to the bathroom without panicking and let's not talk about bath time. Well guess what? I discovered when I was 14/15 that in that house there was something going on. Never had a robbery even though the neighbors were robbed frequently, and my uncles also kinda felt things especially during moving time because they had sold the house. Similar episodes in my cousin's, in the bathroom and the corridor where they have a mirror my aunt uses. Always got the chills and I can never look in the mirror there. Turns out I was not paranoid. So yeah, I apparently have a sixth sense for these kinda things😅
~🎶
If you REALLY want it to be a coincidence, then I think the sixth sense thing can kind of be explained by humans natural habit of being paranoid as fuck. I don’t know about other people but since I’m highly anxious, a lot of things have me on edge 👀
There’s an old barn somewhat close to where I live and I have to drive by it every time I go to work. I’m convinced there’s some spooky shit going on around there, especially because I seen creepy shit in the surrounding wooded area. Does that mean there’s something actually wrong with it? Nah, but you never know!

I have to laugh it off at some point no?
Yep the death premonitions. I used to think they were coincidences y'know? But it's happening since 2015. I also had those "visions" literally a week before the passing of one relative, a week before that of my great aunt, a week before that of my grandma on my dad's side, a week before that of my s.o's grandpa, and more recently, a week before the passing of my dad's aunt inlaw to name a few.. so yeah I am more inclined to believe they are all coincidences at this point
~🎶
Well fuck, thats some crazy shit. Yeah I feel like laughing it off and making the best out of it somehow would be the best way to handle a situation like this. I’d be scared shitless though of having any sort of thought relating to people close to me 😬

So for spooky nights... you heard of sleep paralysis? When your mind is awake but your body isn't? I've had quite a few of those. Either I could feel icy cold creeping up to my body from my toes up to my neck, the kind of icy cold you feel right through your bones, when you just want to scream..you can feel your mouth opening but you can't make a sound nor you can't move any other parts of your body and you feel trapped in your mind?
Also the death premonitions. Right when I'm about to sleep, just 1 sec after I close my eyes I kinda start visualizing some random scary faces either staring at me or coming ro me and apparently a week later someone I know, or have know throughout my life, well...passes away.
Yeah. Those are just a few 🤣😅
~🎶
Not the laughing emoji at the end 😭
Yes I know about sleep paralysis and have had one or two experiences of my own I believe. Honestly that shit is terrifying; being aware but not being able to do anything isn’t it 💀
As for death premonitions… Yeah that one takes the cake because damn 👀👀👀👀👀👀
