i think about 50-50 odds Raine would not have. 

they’ve demonstrated ample willingness to sacrifice themself, people they know but think are on the other side, and people they really care about for the cause

and i think at that moment? with everything going wrong? with the Day of Unity underway? 

they might look at that threat, the death of one of the coven heads, one of the necessary components for the draining spell to work, and do the math about how long the eclipse is going to last vs how long it’s going to take to find and get the replacement up there now that Belos is nowhere to be found

and decide they can bear that weight on their conscience if it means everybody else lives.
