One of the things that the format of Dracula Daily is helping me see more is how the arcs of Seward and Renfield, and the Seward-Renfield relationship, are tied in to many of the central questions of the novel. How do we react when presented with the unfamiliar? How do we relate to those who approach the world with different premises from our own? When is desire something that makes us human, and when is it something that makes us monstrous?
