Hearing those words made the corners of his mouth tug up into a surprised smile. "That's..not what I expected to hear." Being public enemy number one and the most hunted Jedi in the galaxy, Obi-Wan only brought danger and destruction wherever he went. To hear Haja say that he appreciated Obi-Wan's company was unexpected.

And yes, Haja may be a conman, but that didn't mean everything he said was a lie. He helped Obi-Wan after all, risked his life to assure he fled with Leia. Who would do that if they weren't genuinely interested in helping someone? Haja also seemed to hold an honest fascination and liking for the Jedi.

Obi-Wan's gaze turned softer. "I have to apologize, Haja. I was very rude to you during our first meeting. You may have swindled the family out of their money but you did get them to safety. You've proven to be very loyal, and a good friend." Obi-Wan reached out to clasp the man's shoulder.
