“ i’m glad that you’re here. “ / from haja
Hearing those words made the corners of his mouth tug up into a surprised smile. "That's..not what I expected to hear." Being public enemy number one and the most hunted Jedi in the galaxy, Obi-Wan only brought danger and destruction wherever he went. To hear Haja say that he appreciated Obi-Wan's company was unexpected.
And yes, Haja may be a conman, but that didn't mean everything he said was a lie. He helped Obi-Wan after all, risked his life to assure he fled with Leia. Who would do that if they weren't genuinely interested in helping someone? Haja also seemed to hold an honest fascination and liking for the Jedi.
Obi-Wan's gaze turned softer. "I have to apologize, Haja. I was very rude to you during our first meeting. You may have swindled the family out of their money but you did get them to safety. You've proven to be very loyal, and a good friend." Obi-Wan reached out to clasp the man's shoulder.

Marie is powerful but if homelander really was trying to kill her with the laser why he didn’t kill Jordan who was right there too? I think he had diff goals, don’t think he wanted to kill her.
why would he kill jordan when it was obvious he perceived marie as the sole threat? jordan wasn’t the one who blasted cate’s arm off. there’s just no logical reason why homelander would even want to spare marie. like, that man is very much racist, sexist, ableist, pretty much every -ist in the book you can think of. he called her an animal for christsake! he doesn’t even see her as human!
if you go down the line of thinking that “homelander wanted to spare marie” it raises way more questions than answers. like, if he wanted to spare her, then WHY attack her in the first place?? there were witnesses on campus that already knew marie and jordan were trying to save people; jordan was the one getting the board of trustees to safety and ashley even offered marie a goddamn spot on the seven to stop cate! attacking her just creates more problems than solves them and it makes HIM look worse in the eyes of the public.
if he truly thought marie was the threat (which is most likely) he wouldn’t have spared her bc…he was literally called to take the threat out…ashley literally told marie to kill the threat, cate, and the same message was probably relayed to homelander.
the only reason i can think of that homelander would make it look like he killed marie while actually sparing her is if VOUGHT told him to do that. but again, that doesn’t make any sense since vought was gonna offer marie a spot in the seven and they really didn’t have any reason to take out marie.
here’s what i think went down: homelander probably wasn’t told much about what was actually happening at godolkin, he was just called down to handle a situation, no questions, comments, or concerns. he made the incorrect assumption that marie was the threat that needed to be handled (bc he’s RACIST) and he tried to kill her. obviously, this wasn’t the case, since marie was trying to STOP the massacre, but bc homelander is vought’s biggest asset (and bc he’s already in deep deep shit for killing that civilian and him killing an innocent girl would NOT help that situation), vought chose to spin it so that marie and co. looked like the bad guys, while cate and sam were the heroes. to protect homelander.
also, who’s to say he didn’t try to kill jordan? we don’t know anything that happened directly after homelander blasted marie. maybe ashley or someone stopped him before he could go too far and randomly kill a bunch of kids. and since jordan in male form is laser proof, they def could’ve survived it, but again, we really don’t know what actually happened in the aftermath.
just…can we PLEASE stop acting like homelander trying to kill marie is something that’s WILDLY out of character for him? this is completely on brand for him. stop making excuses and stop trying to discredit marie! bc at the end of the day, that’s what this is really about: people just don’t want to admit that marie is stronger than homelander.

@magikborn liked [x] for a starter: For Arthur Pendragon.
It had taken much persuasion to get Cenred this far, and as he dismounted his horse in the courtyard of the Camelot citadel, he had to swallow down his disgust. How many magical beings had been executed here?
The temptation to immediately return to his own kingdom was great, but a peace treaty with the new Pendragon King would be - according to his advisors - exceedingly beneficial to Essetir. Particularly now, as they rebuilt the army after the damage Morgause had caused. It was Uther that Cenred held so much disdain for, and there was talk across the whole of Albion that his son took a different approach to leading; perhaps the discussions could be fruitful.
"Arthur," he reluctantly greeted the younger monarch.

❛  you want me to say no, don't you?  ❜ || @delightfalse from Cassandra
Percy presses his lips into a thin line, his gaze hardening at the question. it was an attempt at hiding what was going on in his head, his heart. It was skipping beats left & right as he thought of each way Cassandra had endured on her own. It wasn't something he liked to think of. But that didn't stop thoughts from forcing their way into his skull. He'd asked her none-too-carefully if she collected secrets for the briarwoods. Information was a currency that was vital in her situation after all.
"I don't know, " he admits this carefully, unusually honest. Percy could lie to almost anyone, but Cassandra deserved better than that. He hopes it is a sentiment she shares. Percy knew Cassandra didn't owe him any details, he certainly wasn't owed her secrets… But Percy thought he may deserve the truth. He'd done plenty of things to survive, it wasn't like he could condemn her for any measures she may have taken. But he had to know, "Would that be the truth? "
She knew his truth. Or, at least, parts of it. More of it than most. His sister had known him at his most desperate, if anyone knew his darkness it may be her. Percy had come to realize that a beast existed in every de rolo that survived long enough to cultivate it. The innate need to live, no matter the cost. Though he'd never use her survival as ammunition against her, he had to know who his sister had become to survive. That didn't make it any less shocking, any less frightening a notion. To think the same beast existed within her.

Hey there! I believe you said in another post that the final confrontation would be unlikely to happen if lenny and sean were alive, so i'd like to ask if you could expand on that pls(if u havent already and i just didnt see it lol)
Btw on a side note im actually super invested in your sean content😭😭the fandom seems to only talk ab him to label as an idiot, so as a fellow sean lover the way you characterize him has me so in love❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh Anon you are SO LOVELY!!! Thank you not only in giving me the opportunity to rant more about Sean and Lenny (which I am always so willing to do), but also for your super kind words!! Sean is very dear to me, and I'm glad my reading into him as much as I do strikes a chord with other people ;;u;;
The way the general fandom often characterizes him isn't very surprising to me, given his personality & the surface level impressions he gives, but maybe for now I'll save THAT rant for another time, else we stay here forever lmaoo
So, to start answering your question, I believe you're talking about my post from a few months ago, where I talk about how I believe Sean & Lenny would've sided with Arthur & John if they'd lived to see the final confrontation. In it I mention how I find that final confrontation a lot more unlikely were Lenny & Sean to survive that far and stick around for the entire thing.
Now, WHY do I believe this? I touch on it briefly in that original post, but let's really get into it here!!
Okay to start off, there's a LOT of ways I see things going, in regards to Sean and Lenny, were they both to survive, because it adds SO MANY variables, but let's start at the very top.
At a meta level, it is important to recognize that RDR2 is a prequel to RDR1. This meant from the get that RDR2, as it is canonically, was bound to a certain outcome, to set up for RDR1. This ALSO means, that every step from the start of RDR2 was very much there not only to lay the groundwork for the end of RDR2 but also add another emotional layer to RDR1. This is all certainly things we are aware of already, but I think it's important to have that context in mind while we talk about alternative outcomes.
Because, see, Sean and Lenny HAD to die for the outcome in RDR2 to be the one it is. Not only them, but Hosea, Kieran, Molly, and Susan's deaths are ALL integral and important to the story, they ALL make a difference and contribute in pushing the story a certain way, and in reinforcing the steadily increasing hopelessness which infest the gang from Sean's death and out.
So if we're like "what if none of them died?" there are suddenly a LOT of new variables for every mission and every scenario we know from the game, which need to be considered. This is true EVEN if the change in survival count is only reduced to Lenny & Sean.
How different do you not think Shady Belle would have felt, initially, without Sean's death hanging over it? What about the bank job -- would Lenny & Sean end up on the boat to Guarma? What would've happened to them there, then? Would either of them be caught by the Pinkertons instead, with John or in his stead maybe? What other options would there have been, where would they end up at the end of that?
And already here we have to consider how those experiences might've impacted them psychologically, because of who they are.
In the post I mentioned earlier, I talk about how Lenny is new to the gang and probably isn't as stuck in it mentally as Arthur and John, nor do Sean and Lenny have the same emotional attachment/baggage in regards to Dutch. They're loyal of course, because they feel a sense of obligation to the gang, because it provides them with safety, friends, and allies, in an otherwise unkind world.
But what then happens when that changes?
How do you expect Sean and Lenny to respond when the gang starts turning on itself? When Dutch visibly starts losing it? When people start snapping at each other and threatening one another in the middle of camp?
(I have a half-formed thought here about how people would ABSOLUTELY be snapping and talking down to Sean in a way more cruel way towards the end of the game, for trying to keep things light and easy, yknow, fulfilling his role in the gang. I can only imagine what that'd end up doing to him, tbh.)
And, I'll be repeating myself from other posts here, but how do you think Lenny, a young black man painfully aware of the social structure as it exists in America at that point in time, would react to realizing what Dutch's plan with the Wapiti is? Same goes for Sean, who has SEVERAL instances through the game showing him just as politically aware as Lenny - certainly moreso than Arthur.
Would the outcome for the Wapiti tribe be the same, do you think, if Charles had more people than a very sick and tired Arthur to lean on, willing to help? Would Lenny in particular want to stick around to see Dutch attempt to drive the tribe into the ground for his own gain?
Also, I'm sorry but like, Lenny has a camp interaction with Dutch where he disagrees with him (about Miller, Dutch's favorite author) and explains why in a very well-articulated manner. In one instance, Dutch gets straight up offended by it, bcz Lenny can argue very well (and is RIGHT mind you lol).
I do absolutely believe that Lenny would not just sit around quietly in Beaver Hollow. I'd expect him to be among the most vocal in their discontent with the situation, and probably the best at arguing against Dutch.
That is, up until a certain point. Lenny is a young black boy, and Dutch is a white authority figure. Watch Dutch snap and yell at him, like he does John in Ch6 for example, and see how much longer Lenny sticks around fr. The trade is loyalty for safety and the same in kind. Why do you think members start leaving when things start looking their worst? And don't you think Lenny would be among the first to see the writing on the wall?
Though that is hinging on that very specific vibe in Beaver Hollow, where they're all scattered and losing their ties to one another. Add then in Sean, who is VITAL as social glue, and for making conversations easier. If he, and Lenny, and Mary-Beth, Tilly, Arthur, Charles, etc etc, insert your favorites here, managed to retain some of that community feeling, despite it all, then I absolutely see Lenny sticking around for them.
Same goes for Sean, tbh. I can see him leaving earlier, bcz the trade stops being equal and bcz he's not being taken seriously, and I can see him staying, for his friends.
There IS also a version of things where things are similar and I do see Sean siding with Dutch; but that is a very sad and lonely Sean, who is VERY different from where he's at in Clemens Point, and I think that's an unfair perspective to take for him in general.
Okay so, now we're back to that final confrontation, after I said I found it unlikely, why is that? Because, with every question I've posed thus far, about what Lenny & Sean's reactions might've been to canon events after their deaths, I have essentially presented a variable that comes with their survival to those points. Them being there for it, HAS to mean a change, has to mean something different happens, because their deaths are direct contributors to the path we already know the story takes WITHOUT their presences.
Now, what are those differences and changes? I honestly can't answer; something being different earlier or later can butterfly-effect into something completely new or remarkably similar to what we already know. I could sit here all day and wax poetic about all the different options and possibilities for where things could go, were ANY character to survive past their death point, BUT thankfully, that is what fanfiction is for, lol.
I hope this satisfied some of your curiosity, dear anon!! It was a lot of fun for me to write and think about, so thank you very much for asking!!!

ok no but te taylir is the mandalore who endures. who survives. te ani'la is resplendent with glory and honor, bronzed in blood and song, but even beskar yeilds under enough pressure. the mand'alor is broken upon the jedi's blade and his children break with him. so in the days under the yoke of the empire, in the hazy, melancholic dawns that follow the night of a thousand tears, it is not te ani'la the children of mand'alor turn to, but what follows. the reclamation. preserving what remains like scraps of beskar, melting them down and reforging them into new armor. to be mandalorian is to be both predator and prey and taylir defines the honor in simple survival, makes sacred the days where the spirit of mandalore is naught but embers scattered across the galaxy, too dim to see one another in the black. when sacrifice must be made for the future of your clan. this too, te taylir says, is the way of mand'alor. and so his children look upon each other in the dark corners of the galaxy and tell their stories and sing their songs and rifle through the ashes of what came before, knowing even a single scrap of what survives will be for a better tomorrow

I see and hear the cold armor and I can feel the dark hatred and anger coiling around me whenever he is near. I can feel that while he is still familiar, too much changed. By all logic it should be easy to let go of him, but my feelings are not playing along. It's like my heart only sees Anakin and ignores my brain with ease.

amnesia: the bunker release obviously turning my thoughts to cherished fun guy of a baker's dozen years, amnesiac daniel of mayfair. cherished game of as many years; meanwhile he Has the ranges: tormentor/tormented, good/evil, noble/petty, scaredscaredscared/bold as brass tacks. not to mention ofc his Some Guy ft. a very dramatic nature, a lot of introspection, but not much to show for it. i do love him & he's a great choice for [i want to do fun sketches] which i also did with call on me on loop which happened to be a song i associated permanently w/him, as well as the reason my art tag is corned beef
#clapping cheering etc He Horney#amnesia#atdd#corned beef#daniel of mayfair#just watching someone's playthrough of a:tb so i dunno All the lore yet. hope there'll be more revelations abt things like Dan's Enthusiasm#further context abt the game if you weren't familiar already which: check it out!!! watch a playthrough. or play it yourself#i actually played through a third? half? the game. got stuck on a puzzle in one run then trapped in the water section later lmao....#it's a game from an indie developer & made a big splash & had Lasting Reverberations: survival horror game shift impact; namely#you have No Weapons in amnesia (though you Can kill the kaernk w/a precisely aimed barrel (or box?) or two (this isn't at all obvious))#and Daniel Gets Scared is a big component of the game. an Enemy shows up & blurred tunnel vision + the [DANGER] audio goes off#v fond memory: once yrs ago i was moving a small grandfather clock & hit smack w/like. What *Sounds* Threatening Here....#then realized the reverberation of the chimes was akin to the kind of low ringing of [daniel's Low Sanitymeter] effects#which! the game Tells You to watch your levels therein b/c enemies will find you more easily when your sanity(tm)'s low or nil#turns out this is completely untrue though lol. the player may be impeded b/c daniel's vision is crap & his mobility will cut out as well#but just as it says; enemies Aren't drawn to you any more than they ever are; they just tell you that Knowing the player will feel it lol#and it works perfectly...as well as ofc daniel having like nightmare visions / ambiguous hallucinations if he's feeling too bad lol#gotta solve a puzz son .or turn on the lights; daniel also being afraid of the dark. even though it's like yeah man in general i'd be scare#meanwhile i always forget frictional had already made penumbra games & the penumbheads would be like...scoff. amnesia easy mode#b/c penumbra doesn't give you any light? you do have a flashlight i believe. at least sometimes. but that's more ltd than a lantern#couldn't be danny w/his tinderboxes; candles; torches; etc. laudanum. blowing shit up. daniel is sososo fun to me#and it all comes back around w/pentiment like ''mithraeum....i heard of em'' fr fr lol alchemy....weird science ooo#the universe HATES him: unless it doesn't (daniel & the shadow) local locals HATE him: baron discovers one weird interdimensional trick#for real for real check out some playthrough of amnesia: the dark descent if you haven't ever seen / heard of it. or play it#we'll have a movie night of it....#corned beeeeeeeeeeeef........i'm the same boy i used to be

re: this post i actually have a lot to say about post trimax vash and knives. brothers with no chance of reconciliation ever...
there is. so much to be said from their last fight. about how they see each other and how they interact with the world—based on how they see the other
Tumblr media Tumblr media
first of all: they both no longer want to continue in this world. even vash, who we always see is so defined by his undying determination, basically admits he doesnt think he should go on any longer. and its interesting to note the distinction between the two here: vash wants them done with because he thinks they have no use for humanity, vs knives wants them done with because only then does he think they can be free. the immortals crave nothing more than the ability to stop living endlessly
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i think not enough people talk abt this, but here knives recognizes that he was the one who pulled away first. who mangled their brotherhood into something like this. he recognizes that they will never see eye to eye. he knows what he did, doesnt regret it, and will never apologize for it. he also cant bear it. deep down, he cant bear that this road means vash will not be there beside him in the end. that vash will always stand in his way. and his solution: either vash or him should be gone
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and heres the kicker! as always, vash will be the contradiction. whenever they talk, vash always uses us. its always we for him. its vash and knives, together. he hasnt, will never give up on them. he knows they will always have opposing worldviews. he would choose to save knives anyway, always. like he does anyone else
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and knives... doesnt know how to deal with this. doesnt want to deal with it. to know the extent of what you did, and not regret it in a second, and to still have someone take your hand. to hear vash basically say: we still have a chance. because he disagrees. because for knives, if he cant have both of them together, then vash comes first. the apple tree, i think, is never his gift for humans. why would humanity care to accept a gift from him anyway, and why should he care? its his apology for vash. his apology that he chooses to leave first. his admission that he cant coexist with vash, in this world that they hurt. that vash still believes in.
Tumblr media
and thats the biggest heartbreak of them all, isnt it? to know that theres someone who couldve been by your side to accompany your lonely eternity. to have that someone hurt you, time and time again. and to still love and care for them because you cant help it. to have that someone choose to leave first, because they think solitude is better than a coexistence of neverending disagreement
and you disagree with that too

"Where did you hear this from."
The fledgling stills, blinking in unabashed nonplus, as though he had thrown out a complete non sequitur and not a perfectly reasonable question. The implications seem to seize Tulin by the wing a moment later, though; he suddenly ducks his head down, shying away from the boundary he's crossed with twiddling wingtips and averted eyes. Even so, he treads on its edges. "From you, Master Revali."
From him. Cheeky. He's never breathed a word of those thoughts, adjacent or otherwise, to anyone or anything that would be alive enough to actively divulge them. Tulin wouldn't have any way of knowing about the knight he asks after, if not for the journal that had been returned to Revali in his first few days of roost-ridden recuperation — safekept in his absence, he surmises, by Teba. The boy's father.
...It shouldn't rankle him this much. A century of presumed death and a fledgling too curious for his own good — or Revali's. All but confirmed when Tulin blurts, seemingly spurred by his silence, "Sorry! I'm sorry, I didn't— I didn't know you'd still be here."
He chuffs, not quite laughing nor scoffing. His feathers are no less ruffled for it, but therein lies the crux of everything. Nobody, really, was expecting their Champions to "be here". To come back. Perhaps this was only to be expected.
Revali doesn't owe anyone his honesty. He hadn't back then — and certainly doesn't now, when he still finds, at times, the beginnings of far bygone names forming on his tongue or strange waves of wistfulness for an existence better left behind washing over him.
"It wasn't difficult to dislike him," he allows, after a long stretch of folding everything back into himself.
Tulin perks up, Windlines beneath his wings once more.
"Speaking with him was often more trouble than it was worth."
The fledgling nods sagely. He says, with the air of someone simply repeating something he hasn't quite digested yet, "'It's like talking to a stone.'"
Revali smothers the sound swelling in his chest before it can pass his throat. Yes, he'd written something to that effect, hadn't he? That Tulin would recall such a line, supposedly verbatim — made all the better by the fact he hasn't made the connection yet, between this knight he naively slights and the one he's enthused at length over.
And why would he? Or any Rito, for that matter. The blasted aches in his wings flare as his thoughts stray towards them, reminding him: a century has passed for all of them. Link, from what he's garnered in the Hylian's recent visits, is no longer even a knight. With the way he fits so perfectly into a space he’s either carved for himself or the others have made for him here, sometime in his journey before defeating Calamity Ganon…to the flock — to this flock — he is no more nor less than just Link. Champion descendant, apparently ( and isn’t that ludicrous in an entirely different sense ), but that's about the furthest they dare to reach. Sometimes, Revali wants to guide those wings to the truth.
( Sometimes, he wants to break this rhythm Link has created with his people, if only to have someone flounder for fragments with him. )
"He was much like Link," Revali says, head turning away and tipping back to gaze at the skies, at nothing and everything.
He doesn't have to see him to know that Tulin's leaned in with widened eyes, his own head tilted to the side. "Like Link? Really?"
He doesn't repeat himself. The fledgling — as his equally tiny peers seem to like doing — always makes something of his silence, anyway.
"Link’s lots better though, right? Master Revali?"
He does laugh, then: a brief huff of something that might be amused. "Well, he's not any worse."
