Finally finished my weird hanging painting thing (originally a secondhand partially-done 'paint by numbers' kit that I found at a thrift store and kept to repurpose lol)! Imagery somewhat based in my own worldbuilding projects, and text written in my constructed language for one of my fantasy species, but also vaguely inspired by old tapestries and illuminated manuscripts and etc. I've never been great at neat clean patterning or text, but it looks cool from afar, and I always enjoy making "props" or things that are somewhat like real objects that might could exist in my world. :0
(additional pictures/info under the readmore)
-
Here's what it was originally! I probably didn't have to actually have a river running down the middle because it further makes the composition of the whole thing weird (various connected yet separate locations and things happening, instead of one unified event being portrayed), but I wasn't sure if I'd be able to fully cover up the already existing paint that was there.. and I can also kind of justify it by going with a more "all the imagery is just symbolic so it doesn't have to make exact sense" approach lol.. How is one half of the grass green and the other is suddenly snowy? shhhh.. it's not literal.. shhh...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Made a vague sketch, then painted over it, and then added more distinct lines in black pen. Center image first and border second.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The very last thing was the text, which actually took forever to translate because my conlang is still only like.. partially done, and some of the grammar is not worked out exactly how I would like it to be, so a few sentences I had to think about for a long time before just going "eh, this is probably not how I would do it if I considered it more, but I'll go with it for now" lol . I also am not entirely satisfied with all of the characters for the writing system, but again, it's good enough for a quick project, it doesn't have to be 100% accurate and perfect because it's a fake language that nobody knows anyway lol.
I thought about breaking down the text and translation here like I have for some of the tidbits of Avirrekava (the language) in things I've posted in the past, but I think it would take too long and is not interesting to anyone but me ghghj, so for the sake of getting the post out quickly, I shall not spend an hour typing All That lol.
The general jist of the writing though is that it's just about the Avirre'thel being cast out from the other elves, after abandoning their magic for immortality as a means to truly attain perfection (an important concept in elven culture), the usual, blah blah blah, but how it's Actually A Good Thing, because the gods are wrong and immortality is Cool actually and they like the shitty frozen lands they were sent to, so it's fine that everyone else is being a Hater about it lol
Tumblr media
Lastly, here's a few photos outside in the sun to TRY and show the gold detailing actually shimmering or showing up! It really doesn't come through in photos, but there's plenty of little golden spots to highlight light or Importance.
Mostly the fire, the pink sparkle that represents magic, the red drop that represents blood, the light behind Inaashi's hands and head (common symbol for the elven religion/one of their main gods, shout out to anyone who read the ancient elven religion post and recognized that lol), the sun, and the symbol for the Avirre'thel/country of Navyete at the very top. I did a few other gold bits, but they're not highlighted because they're Significant, more just that it looked more symmetrical to have some gold on the border too lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Other things of note: The animals are not actually significant to Avirre'thel culture really, I just wanted to put a cat and a bird because I like them lol. (I also wanted to have a few funny looking creatures, as I was slightly trying to go with the 'in some old medieval painting the anatomy and perspective is very weird' vibe, though I think some of the other parts of it look too Normal to pull it off entirely). Same with the four leaf clover, which means nothing in their culture - but these are the only areas where stuff was just added self-indulgently .
Bligabata (giant cabbage that grows along rivers in Navyete) making an appearance! The architecture of the building IS based on actual concepts for ancient elven/older Avirre'thel architecture and metalwork. The Avirre'thel who's turning away from Inaashi/elves/magic and collecting blood, is doing so in a Special Bowl, as is part of their culture (collecting it in the hands, or just in a normal vessel would be disrespectful, they have Specific Bowls which is the only thing blood can be kept in, etc.).
The figure that represents Jhevona (and thus, a closer connection to magic, celestial imagery, etc.) is in weird ugly teal, which is not necessarily a color or design associated with them, as I don't have much common culture (like clothing) worked out for Northern Jhevona (who the avirre'thel would have come into contact with) yet, BUT everyone else is in more Typical colors (a northern elf in green, Inaashi in lavender + white + blue, an Avirre'thel in darker purples and reds).
Some things, like the four figures in the corners, and the two people + fish in the stream, do not currently have a meaning, but in-world they would.. Like, I could make up lore for how they're culturally significant and it would be true because I am god of the world, but I don't have anything currently. But just know.. they DO mean something, I just haven't decided it yet, maybe kind of fill in as I go, come up with a meaning later lol. Probably along the lines of an old myth from the ancient elven religion, a story, etc.
-
I don't know, probably other stuff, but that's my Trying To Keep It Short rambling for now lol. I'm just glad I finally finished this! For how vaguely sloppy it is up close (everything being completely freehanded, only used rulers once when doing the initial sketch and lining where the border should be + my hands are shaky + the canvas is bumpy + my handwriting is scratchy and terrible + etc. etc.) it still took a REALLY long time, even when not trying to make it all perfect. Especially if including the text translation + writing, which took like 3+ hours itself.
Maybe all the asymmetry/lack of things being centered is NOT because I was too lazy to measure anything, but is actually because in-universe, it's a practice illustration made by some young apprentice who has to work on little canvases for years before he can be trusted will a full sized mural or tapestry. It's his first week on the job! of course he's uncoordinated! don't laugh at him!!! lol
#worldbuilding#elves#I AM WORKING ON A NEW PAVENTURE POST also !!!! I know I keep being like 'oh I'm going to get back to that! I'll stick to it this time!!'#and then another whole month goes by without me posting a new poll adventure - however - this time I DID fully intend to so#*do another one soon but my beloved beautiful perfect cat unfortunately passed away AND there was a heat#wave ANd I felt sick for a while for unrelated reasons so I just genuinely was not focused on posting online at all#I am trying to get back to it though along with other things hopefully so.#ANYWAY#avirre'thel#irithoas#maybe???? not super relevant to elves but I'll keep it intheir tag anyway also. Just since their lore is so closely tied with avirre'thel s#stuff and they're mentioned in the post. Or the gods are. Inaashi is.#OIGUGUGUGUHH I should have done a tapestry with the FCJhjkING triplets!!!!! Sehalanora Semoniyare and the other one whatever the hell#his name is. ... sehalanora my beloved .. (I'm referencing the ancient elven gods - for those who dont know)#It's funny that I rarely watch tv shows and when I do I rarely if EVER care about characters at all in any capacity#with maybe like a handful of even then extremely minor exceptions so I cannot relate to the concept of like 'having a blorbo' or whatever#but then for my extremely niche worldbuilding content#.. it's like OMG MY FAVORITE character!!! my favorite obscure god from a religion#that I entirely made up myself for a cultural group that I also made up that literally only I and maybe like two other#people who are able to sit through my novel long dry and wordy worldbuilding posts care about!! you all know them DUH!!#even WITHIN modern elven culture in the world at the moment in current day most people do not give a shit about them hghj#BUT .. I should have made a painting of the siblings actually!!! I stand by that!!#I mean I like Inaashi and Nisateyu and everything too. Actually all of them are fine except for Ea'ivuyera I guess. whoever the#like War and Order bootlicker god is basically. and the Evil dumbass one. but all the others are fine. I'm suprised I'm even able to rememb#that many ancient elven goofily long names ghgh.. But I could have maybe made it about the elven gods#The thing is just that.. i Don't have ancient elvish worked out as a language and I knew I wanted to put text on it#so it kind of HAD to be something written/drawn by the Avirre'thel#Knwoledge of the ancient elven gods is still a thing in their culture. But usually more as a joke or just a common fairytale knowledge#sort of thing. not really something to make a painting of. Inaashi is here less because of Inaashi The God being genuinely significant and#and more just she's there to Symbolize the elven religion as a whole. just like all the other figures are mere symbols of things. etc.

is an AI image generator better understood as "a tool used by an artist", or "a service commissioned by a patron"? your feelings on this question will correlate pretty much exactly on whether you think this shit is good news or bad.
though as far as the pro-AI side goes, I think there is some slippage between 'the AI neural net learns like a human' and 'the AI is just a tool'.
and oof i did it again. long text post below about encoding, interpolation, plagiarism in art etc.
suppose for the sake of argument we lived in some cool fucked up biopunk world where instead of a data centre crunching numbers, you had brains in jars that spent their life looking at pictures and drawing them in a big training centre, and then it sits on your desk and draws pictures when you ask it. if you tell the brain to draw a picture, and then say 'hey guys look at this picture I made'... well you know, is it really your picture, etc etc.
the objection to 'the computer does all the work' in 3D computer graphics is that actually it takes a stupid amount of work to do anything half decent in CG, it just shifts the work elsewhere from where it is in painting. it's less akin to painting and more to building an elaborate physical diorama and then taking a photo of it. for this reason, computer graphics has been able to slip in fairly easily to the social roles we've designated around making 'art'. CG also has a distinctly different look to existing art forms, the endless quest for photorealism notwithstanding.
AI image generation is trickier to defend from this objection, since the whole selling point is that it's very easy to get 'good results' without specialist knowledge, and its success state is trying to look indistinguishable from other means. (Midjourney's fractal horror landscapes bother people much less since they're obviously AI - this kicked off in serious when AI started to get close enough to be near-indistinguishable.)
the obvious objection to the brain in a jar analogy is that the AI doesn't actually resemble a human all that much, and there's no reason to think it's sapient; it's a robot not a robota.
the way a human learns to make art is a set of practices - certainly they are likely to be inspired by other art that came before them, but as if not more important is the experience of interacting with their chosen tools, the connection with other parts of their life that they put into their art, their relationship to other people who respond to their creations. humans are certainly great imitators but we're not just that, which is why art constantly evolves.
so then what is the "AI" actually doing, if not "learning"? well, it's something more like interpolating and extrapolating. but it's interpolating in a strange abstract multidimensional mathematical space that's fairly opaque to intuitive human understanding, so we have to lean on analogy.
this isn't entirely unalike to the techniques used in image compression. even an older algorithm like JPEG transforms its pixel values into frequencies by the wavelet transform. what's stored in a JPEG file is coefficients of waves that can be added back together to generate the image; it turns out you can discard some of the higher frequencies and still get pretty close. computer programming is in large part about learning to translate data between different representations, 'equivalent' insofar as you can map one to another with the right algorithm.
in that sense then an 'AI' and its dataset does have an approximate encoding of the 'training' data. (I use quotes because it's really important that these are just analogies, it's not an 'intelligence' like an animal and its training is only similar to what a human does when learning.) and this representation can be used to create variations that seem like they might have been in the training data. for another flawed analogy, the text prompt is something like a query into something like an approximate database.
how does that relate to familiar human notions of artistic plagiarism? i see a lot of people get very chewed up about what is and is not 'allowed' in art. (one young artist asked me if it was ok to claim as his own a drawing from photo reference!) the answer i always give is that the problem is with dishonesty, so just be upfront about what you did. if you copy another artist, as long as you say 'i made a study, here's the original by artist xyz', you're in the clear.
in fine art, things get especially screwy. it's already the case that an especially skilled human can create a convincing forgery, so art ends up being associated with some kind of attestation of its pedigree. owning something 'authentic' by the right person means it's extremely valuable, which has little to do with the actual aesthetic qualities of whatever it is. the absurdity of this has been mocked endlessly but it doesn't seem to have stopped at all. meanwhile we've had ~mechanical reproduction~ for a long time, so mass produced exact copies are the norm, and along with it is the legal apparatus of copyright. online, generally the ethics of it has turned into 'feel free to copy but give proper credit'. I've been pretty obsessive about this, always wanting to give a source; i really dislike decontextualised images floating around. but that credit goes as far as naming the artist, maybe giving a little context about when and where it was made, and not an attempt to create a genealogy of inspirations in most cases.
a human artist can learn to imitate another, but it's a truism that learning to imitate an exceptionally skilled artist is amounts to becoming one yourself, and that no matter how hard you try to imitate, some of your own style will shine through. for this reason, studying under someone and taking on their style is understood often as an act of devotion. (though conversely in the eyes of a critic, an artist may be dismissed as derivative if their inspirations are too obvious.)
with AI, the question becomes more complicated, since there's a huge black box in between the input and output, distinct from the black box that is the artist's mind itself. an AI can fairly easily be tuned to imitate someone in particular, for example the infamous Kim Jung Gi AI made recently after his death, which tries to generate images that he might have made. an artist may try to draw in the style of Kim as a tribute to him, using their own subconscious visual library and methods. you could even do this in a different field of art, e.g. a CG artist making a render inspired by one of Kim's drawings. but running that AI would never be seen as an act of devotion, rather an attempt to create a shallow and insulting replacement. ig you could interpret this intuitive feeling thus: it's not carrying forward the practice that Kim dedicated his life to, but presenting some completely different and trivial activity as equivalent.
our notions of plagiarism, copyright etc are pretty broken at the best of times. in general my feeling is that the less restrictions there are on copying, the better, since one of the best ways to learn is to study other people. but I also put a lot of value in having some understanding of history, influence etc. - the stuff sakuga fans like.
AI interpolation is going to just make it all the more screwy. "a tech company took a billion pictures including yours and mashed them into an abstract function that can be probed with text queries, and i queried it with your name and found a picture that's pretty close to something you might have drawn, clearly derivative of your work but not directly plagiarism - what are my ethical obligations to you", all at scale, is not a problem we've had to deal with before. it's a pretty left-field thing for artists, already occupying a tenuous position within capitalism, to have to worry about. unfortunately the default reaction of a lot of people is to try and get the government to make it go away, which is likely to backfire if it goes anywhere. but it is alarming, it is pushing on a lot of existing fault lines in this strange social process we call 'making art'.
(the solution is to give people some sort of insulation from the market, and access to some sort of community of artists not shaped by chasing an Industry. but 'not having to profit a capitalist to live' is unthinkable so...)
to me there is a strong intuitive feeling that what someone querying an 'AI' is doing is not very similar to what an illustrator 'querying their own subconscious' is doing, even if both result in a similar picture. that's not the same as saying it's 'not art', it may be a type of art (what else would it be?), but it's a type of art I have zero interest in and can't see the appeal of doing. which is fine that's just taste, there's plenty of other activities that people do which I don't care about. but insofar as it actually threatens the continued reproduction of types of art I do care about, and is trying very hard to imitate, I really don't like 'AI' and wish it would fuck off as a flash-in-the-pan fad.
anyway, being specific is hard, analogies are always limited, from now on every time I see a post about AI art that I'm moved to respond to, I'll draw a picture instead.

"An Islamic Formula for a Successful Life" Los Angeles: Part 1
Imam W. Deen Muhammad (This is the first installment of Imam W. Deen Muhammad's Los Angeles address.) As-Salaam-Alaikum. That is, peace be unto you. We begin putting our complete trust in Allah, the Lord and Creator, Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds. Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem, with the Name Allah, the Gracious, the Compassionate, and we pray peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, His Servant and His Messenger (SAW); peace and the blessings be on him, and on his descendants, his Companions, the righteous, and Muslims (Believers); we pray peace be on us, and that Allah helps us in our efforts, and make this occasion a success, for Muslims, a success in the eyes of our Lord, whose name is Allah, Most High.
Alhamdulillahi-rabbil-alameen. We praise Allah, Lord of All the Worlds, and we want to read from the chapter of Qur'an, that begins with the title, "Ash-Shams," "The Sun." I believe that the chapter has been read already, in Arabic.
(Darnell Karim reads Sura-tul-Ash-Shams in Arabic).
I will now give the English translation of the original text of the Qur'an, as you know which is in the pure Arabic language. You might call it classical Arabic, but actually the revelation of Qur'an to Muhammad who himself, peace be upon him, was not literate, but God inspired him with revelation, and the language of revelation, and the Arabic tongue and the tongue of the Arabs, set the standard for the language from that time since.
Now when you study Arabic grammar, in high school, college, elementary school or whatever level you study Arabic grammar on, the yardstick or the rule for measuring the excellence of the grammar, the excellence of the language, the excellence of the expression or composition, will be referred to Qur'an. The Qur'an has really set the standard for the excellence of language, ever since it was revealed and now it’s a little over 1400 years ago. That in itself is a miracle; that Allah revealed to a man who himself was not literate, an orphaned child; Muhammad (pbuh), the Prophet, the Last Messenger, revealed to him and the words came out on the tongue of an Arab, but the tongue was

LET THERE BE LIGHT
Read In The Name Of Your Lord
In the clear focus that religion provides for us we see the importance of nature over form, Many people in religion read the allegorical or symbolic language of scripture and they can't see beneath the surface to read the real message that is in the symbolism or the allegorism. They come to the conclusion that religion is telling us how the sun was put in the sky, how the moon was put in the sky, how stars were put in the sky, how fish were put in the water, and how trees and other life sprung up from the physical earth, how tall Goliath or Adam was.
But actually, God is saying to us with scripture—and the great prophets made this knowledge available to us—that the world without is only a sign and a signal that He has made to direct you and your growth. As He has placed the sun that rises up from the horizon at dawn breaking in the night and giving day, He has also placed a sun in your nature and in your structure —the light of intelligence. You fall asleep and darkness comes over you at night, but you awake because He has designed you that way. You awake and open your eyes, and the light of intelligence begins to operate; it operates until you get tired, it begins to set and you lie down and sleep again.
These lights are descriptive of the kinds of leaders we have on this earth. Some are like the sun. They rise and they cause a lot of activity. They make the little birds jump up out of their nests. They bring the animals out chirping and making a lot of noise. They give warmth like the sun does, and show us all the physical objects. But then there are some that are like the moon; they seem to be lesser in light, but their light penetrates the darkness that the sun has left on us.
And then we have some that are like the stars. They're very far away, and they seem small to us, but in reality, most of the stars that we think to be small are bigger than our moon, bigger than our earth, and many of them bigger than our sun.
We have people like that who are so far away from the foolishness we're involved in that we think them to be very small, but in reality they are bigger than the things that we are idolizing and admiring. Almighty God, He is the One that created us, and Almighty God is the One to inspire us; and Almighty God is the One to reveal the hidden secrets of the world and of our own life. That has been done by Almighty God through His great prophets, from Abraham to Muhammad.
Genesis tells us of the beginning of creation in these words: In the beginning the earth was without form and void; and darkness covered the deep; and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, and God said, let there be light, and there was light. And He hung a great light in the heavens to rule the day, and a lesser light to rule the night. And He hung the stars also.
Now, let's look at the Quran to see how the Quran treats the same subject; to see how Almighty God revealed to a later prophet that was to complete the message of religion for the total development of the individual in society- It reads:
"Read in the Name of your Guardian, Evolver and Sustainer who created the being from a clot of blood.”
Here we are getting the same message. But it is brought to us clear. The light is coming on to stay. God says: Read, and your Lord is most bountiful who taught the man, the human being, the use of the pen. So, here Almighty God has revealed to Prophet Muhammad the real-meaning of the Genesis; the growth of intelligence is the answer to the riddles, the rising of the sun, the hanging of a moon and the placing of stars in the heavens. As a result, fish come in the water, life grows all over the land, people begin to populate— God is telling us that in order for us to have a healthy, beautiful, full life on earth we must have intelligent life first. So, the Holy Quran doesn't leave us in doubt.
The first verses that came to Prophet Muhammad says: Read in the Name of your Guardian, Evolver and Sustainer who created man from a small clot of blood. Read and your Lord is most bountiful who taught man the use of the pen.
And for those who doubt that God is speaking to the need for intelligence to grow, let us go again to the same term, "create," in the Quran. God says; Create yourselves! God challenges us to create ourselves, God says: Create yourselves with the character building blocks revealed to you by God. Create yourself in the character-image of God. This is character building; one speaking directly to intelligence growth, and the other speaking to character building. How can you build intelligent character if you don't have any good sense? A foolish people cannot build intelligent character. They have to be ordered about, disciplined and forced to conform to good manners by adult people. Can we remain children forever on this earth?
Imam W.D. Mohammed (raa)THE DOOMED WORLD
The One Between Your Ears
We have been told that the old world that we have known is a doomed world that would soon be destroyed and that a new world would emerge. Many of us did not understand what we were being told. We had been trained, as little children are trained, to think that everything that people talk about can be picked up with the hand and seen with the physical eye.
When "the end of the world" was preached to us, we thought that God was going to burn up the physical ground. We did not know that the world of men was not a world that you pick up with your hand. The world of human beings is a world that you pick up with your ears.
It enters through your ears into your mind and it forms a mind over your own mind. That mind then becomes your mind. Since you live in your mind's world, you become a dweller in that world. If that world is a grafted, artificial world, Almighty God will intervene and destroy it. That is the world that the Bible calls a doomed world.
In the physical world we see fire as something that is powerful to destroy things. Nothing brings about a more thorough and complete destruction of physical things in the physical world than fire.
The wise men of religion only used fire in scripture to tell you how thorough and complete the destruction of this grafted world would be when it came.
The soil, the oceans, the trees, nor the animals of the earth have ever rebelled against God, so why should God destroy the earth? It is the minds of men that have acted against truth, justice, and righteousness and have brought the world to a state of hell, confusion, and ignorance.
To right this, someone has to come and renew the minds of men. The minds of the people must be renewed (given new life) and given new soil for their knowledge to grow in. They must be given a new sun to feed the growth of that knowledge. Once that new world is brought about in the minds of the people, a new growth will start in the earth.
Some denominations of the Church preach to their people that something is going to happen to change the physical earth. They say that the earth will become new, the water will become pure, the air will become pure and that we will stop aging, take on a new physical growth, and be youthful forever. I want the people who are in kindergarten knowledge of the Church to know that we are doing that right now.
ImamW.D. Mohammed (raa)The Influence Of Evil On America
Imam W. Deen Muhammad
As human beings, we are not capable of keeping our life and morals intact without the blessings and help of God. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is one whose life was kept intact, even before he was made a prophet. Though he lived in sinful pagan Arabia, which at that time was perhaps the area on the globe with the greatest ignorance. Prophet Muhammad did not give himself to the sins and ignorance of the world into which he was born.
When I was a boy, the devil didn't ask us to do the things he is asking of us now in America. The devil didn't ask people to decide for themselves what is right and wrong. The devil went along with the children in consulting their mothers, their fathers, their church and the establishment. But for our children today, it is a new world, a different situation. Today the devil is advising our children. He is telling them, "Don't listen to your mother. Don't listen to your father. Don't listen to your religious teachers. Make up your own mind." And what has been the results of this? The results have been rebellious and defiant youth who have become victims of the devil's influences.
The devil now controls what happens in the environment of America. And God has put it in the nature of the human being to believe the overwhelming majority rather than believe the unpopular minority, because, under normal conditions, the majority is usually right. But scripture warns us that in the end of the world, Satan creates an unnatural, abnormal situation that makes the majority his subjects, then the environment becomes his instrument.
The good people in America today, our mothers, our fathers, our aunts, uncles, grandmothers and grandfathers tell our young people what is right. However, when they reflect on what the world is saying and doing, they walk away from the good advice and follow the voice of the world. Why is this? It is because the voice of the world is just too much for them. There are too many people saying the same thing, making it too popular to ignore.
What will save us and our children in this day and time? What will save you is your true self. But the devil doesn't allow you time or a chance of live your true self, because he is busy building an environment to convince you that wrong is right and at the same time saying, "You are your own judge. Nobody else should tell you what you should do or think. Not your parents, your preacher, nobody. Only you matter."
Furthermore, the devil makes you feel sub-human if you listen to other authority. This is what the devil is doing to our children, and many adults are among the children. The devil makes many of us feel like we are an inferior intellect, as though we have inferior minds if we allow a parent or morally upright person to tell us what to do over our own opinion. The devil is making individual opinion the rule, and as a consequence, destroying respect for parent, for proper authority, and for moral authority. He is not only destroying it, he has destroyed it.
The Devils Plan
This is the situation in which we now live, and God has given us the solution in the Qur'an. As stated in the article, ACCEPTING THE DIFFICULT, "Satan's plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of God, and from prayer"
Why does the devil use such things as intoxicants, liquor, wine, cocaine, heroin, etcetera? Why does he make gambling attractive? God answers it in the above verse. He does this to create hatred and division among the people.
If you lose your sense of moral excellence, or moral direction and moral purpose, and you become one who just gets drunk or gambles, take great risk with your family's precious resources, it causes confusion, division and loss of respect in the family. After all, when a married man gambles, he gambles with the property of the family.
The devil produces these things in order to create hatred, envy, and division among the people. And this will happen once we trust immoral means for survival and progress, because we then lose the natural human respect for one another. Under normal human conditions or circumstances, we would have moral sensitivities. We would question our attitudes, our feelings and our judgments that we make against each other before carrying them out. But in an environment or situation in which the senses are drunk, where there are no morals except risk taking, there is a slim chance of us thinking of our position or our attitude toward each other.
If I do something that causes you an inconvenience, you will hate me. You won't ask, "Hey, what is the right and wrong in this situation?" You just register my interference, my opposition to you. Then right away, you dislike me. Not upon principle, but upon feeling that affects you. Whenever any of us start feeling angry toward each other or get a bad attitude, we should questions the influence of Satan.
God Has Not Changed
More than fifty percent of the African-American girls are having babies before they get married according to the latest statistics. Why are they doing this? God hasn't changed what He said in the Bible and in the Qur'an. If Christians believe their Bible, God hasn't changed. We know what God says in the Qur'an hasn't changed. So why are so many people doing these things? It is because the system has made this type of conduct popular. The system has said, "Little girl, don't worry about obeying the church the synagogue or the mosque. Don't worry about obeying your religion or obeying your parents. We've got plenty of prevention, plenty of pills to sell you. Here, help the economy. Stop obeying your religious law and buy our things, and just go on and have sex as you please".
I see and feel what this environment in America is doing to human lives. I see how it undermines the sacred office of parent, and takes away from the parent their own children, and pit family members against each other. Such an environment makes everybody a stranger in the same house. Today America has become the Big Satan.
Here in America, liquor and intoxicants are now easier to get perhaps than any other place on earth. This is where gambling has been made a support for the national economy. A little more than twenty years ago, I went into a store and saw on the cover of a magazine in bold letters the words, "God is Dead." When I read it, I said to myself, "The devil has more freedom in this country than the good people." America has become a country that gives more freedom to Satan and his host than it gives to those who want to be good and practice righteousness.
If this country favors Satan, the wicked, the criminals and other wrong-doing people, and gives them more liberty than it gives to people who are trying to live a morally upright life, then tell me, is this country established for the good, or is it established for Satan? This country makes it difficult for people who try to do good, who try to live a good life. But this country opens up for corrupt people opportunities to carry out what they want in establishing their evil way of life
