Possibly in ‘answer’ to the following interview included in the August 15 issue between reporter Chris Charlesworth and Peter Brown:

MM: “Is there any recorded (Beatles) material still unreleased?” Apple: “No. Even if there were it would never be issued. The group are always very conscious of keeping up with the current tastes.” MM: “Are there plans for a (Beatles) recording session in the future?” Apple: “There are no plans at all.” MM: “Are there any plans for any kind of performances whatsoever?” Apple: “None at all. There are no plans for any shows or tours.” MM: “Have The Beatles finished as a group?” Apple: “That is a question I cannot answer …”
