so... I opened twitter today (which was a mistake) because unfortunately, I happen to follow many taylor swift-related accounts, so I got to see lots of awfully homophobic things and just wretched behavior! wonderful way to end the day. all thanks to that freaking RS article because apparently, even a hint that queerness exists and is okay is too much for people. i honestly wonder if people realize how homophobic they are being or if they think they're doing the right thing. either way, it makes my stomach turn

#i don't know about you but i highly doubt an incredibly famous celebrity who has expressed her support and allyship to the lgbt community #(SEVERAL TIMES) #is bothered at all by some people connecting queer themes with her music #imagine thinking that taylor 'gay pride makes me me!' swift would be ok with or support the doxxing and slur-calling of her queer fans #it honestly breaks my heart to see it. sometimes I think that the world is a safe place to be gay and then I remember - #that I've been tucked away in a bubble and the real world is really fucking homophobic and if swifties will be up in arms defending- #taylor swift's straightness then what sort of things do they think about me? (someone they have no personal affection/ admiration for) #i also wish she would say something because this is NOT the first time queer fans have been doxxed (kissgate! bettygate!) by swifties #and she's an AMAZING ally isn't she #it isn't about whether she's queer or not at the end of the day. it's about human decency #idk. sorry for ranting but i just had to put this here. i hope that taylor hasn't been seeing this backlash. #not hp
