#i think for me flcl #speaks to me as a grooming victim #a lot of people criticize it for not being overt enough in criticizing the grooming behaviors but i think thats a strength #that you need to kind of. realize how much it sucks that those two girls are acting this way towards naota and no one cares. #thats what it feels like looking at my own story with predatory teens/adults in retrospective thats why it speaks to me so much #and even though mamimi reminds me of my abusers i also relate to her because of her ostracization and obsession with the divine #so i just generally like to revisit flcl a lot and admire how it handles its messages #cuz for example i feel evangelion (which had a lot of the same people working on it) couldn't do the same in trusting it's audience to be- #mature enough to figure out the messages. a lot of evangelion felt 'told not shown' to me and it was kind of a weird watching experience #like the show thought i wasnt smart enough to watch it? i still like evangelion though obviously #but yeah i just like that flcl trusts its audience to know that grooming is bad. #and i relate to it a lot. #i kind of just used this q to ramble about flcl but i still wanna hear what ur favorite anime is
