THE LINDASIMS2 RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTATION: PART ONE

No idea how to really make one of these posts. Most Sundays I'd wake up and post my own CC. But not this Sunday.

DISCLAIMER: This is not really a callout post. This is a warning to anyone who intends to download Lindasim's stuff. And a genuine one. I have nothing personal against Linda, this is only what I've found from my own deep dive into Linda's files. I have no proof that what I've found is stuff that Linda herself did, but the stuff does exist. And it's terrible.

WARNING: Some of these images contain racial slurs that may make you uncomfortable.

You can find the nails file I use for my 'research' post here. It's part of the reuploaded March 2021 set and from what I can see that entire set is a giant mess.

OPENING THE FILE

Obviously, step 1 to any research regarding Sims 2 CC is... opening the file. And at first glance, this may seem completely normal to a CC newbie. It's from 'Base cc #333', 'LS_ACC_TF_AF_nail_M1_4swatches', 'LS_ACC_AF_nail_1v290321_mesh'.

I mean, it looks like any normal Sims 2 file, right? It's a mesh!

Until you open one of DeeDee's own accessory files.

Yeah... notice how there's a TON of stuff that isn't present in the other two?

Now, at first, I gave this the benefit of the doubt. Maybe, I thought, this was just another sign of my lack of knowledge regarding Sims 2 CC. It's been awhile since I've done my own accessories. But let's move on to the next part of my research...

THE 3DID REFERENCING FILES

There are 57 3DID Referencing Files in this nails mesh files. And maybe I'm ignorant, but I'm pretty sure sims don't have 57 fingers.

I didn't have time to actually see where they're pointing to... but... why the heck are they in a mesh file?

THE AGE DATA

This was what originally stood out to me the most. Why the heck is there AGE DATA in a nail accessory?

THE BHAVS

In @dystopianam's post, they mentioned the game reading some of Linda's files as mods. Well, I found the reason why.

There are... BHAVs? In a mesh file? For those who don't know, BHAVs literally alter the game's code or add new code. From what I can guess these BHAVs probably have something to do with the sim embedded in this file?

THE CATALOG DESCRIPTION

This was the icky part. And why I was hesitant to make this post.

Yep, turns out that whoever made this file is a big fat racist. Also fatphobic. Also probably aware that catalog descriptions shouldn't be in accessory files. Most of the ones I've seen were for objects or... sims. But this one isn't.

THE GMDC AND ASSOCIATED MESH ELEMENTS

Okay, through all of this, I was under the impression that the GMDC, GMND, CRES, and SHPE would be the most boring elements to inspect. I... was wrong.

Yep, the sim has a face. No clue what their name is but they are more present in this file than I expected.

THE JPG IMAGES

It's the hero you've all been waiting for... LIGHTNING MCQUEEN himself!!

Yep, he's here too! He's real! And he doesn't just accompany hairs, I can tell you that much, because these are nails!

Apparently these were based on Bruno's files? (From MTS), since there's a Bruno JPG slipped in there.

THE MATERIAL DEFINITIONS

There are 38 random material definitions. IDK why they're here. They're just... vibing.

THE OBJD (OBJECT DATA)

I was baffled to see this here. Why's there an object in here, I wondered. Until I realised the game sees this as a person. So, yep. That's the moment I realised there's an actual sim in here.

There's a bit more stuff in this file (most notably the Texture Overlay XML) that wouldn't fit in this post because of the 10 images limit... but fun fact, our secret sim has grey eyes! Wow!

THE CONCLUSION

Phew, that was a rollercoaster!

I didn't dare actually loading the game with these files (mostly out of fear that secret sim will haunt my dreams forever...) but as you can see in this post, the reuploaded files from Linda are completely fucked. No way around it. These aren't nail files, they're probably nail files merged with a whole-ass sim.

I'm not too knowledgeable on the subject of sims or BHAVs, but this is what Part 1 of my research has yielded and it's made me pretty fucking terrified. How long have people been downloading this 'leaked' stuff only for it to corrupt their game? It makes me wonder how many neighborhoods were lost to 'corruption' that was actually reuploaded Lindasims2 files...

For now, if you have thought about sailing the seven seas to get Linda's Sims 2 CC, I would recommend reevaluating that idea. Unless you want your game to be destroyed like @dystiopianam's and several others.

aga was kind enough to link me to some pre-2020 files of Linda's and they seem OK (so far...) but I would also not recommend supporting Linda on Patreon until we have proof that these files weren't corrupted by her, but by whoever reuploaded them to SimFileShare.

Also, it's not just the mesh file that's corrupted, in case you thought that. Nope, the recolor files have also been given the hidden sim treatment.

I can't really get my thoughts straight right now and really wanted to make this post before I forgot or the hidden sims came to murder me in bed, but for now, cheerio. I'll be back with more 'what the heck is in these files' ASAP!

THE LINDASIMS2 RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTATION: PART SIX

Today, it's finally here, and with proper grammar and punctuation (hopefully!), as my 200th post. The proof that only @lindasims2 could've destroyed her own content.

As a bloody April Fool's joke.

And we've all been blind to it for years and years and years.

With the help of @fireflowersims, @bstu, my buddies Yolkema and Zeta_Reticuli on the Simscord, @honeymoonseason, and many other lovely folks who are also tired of Linda and her followers' BS, we finally got proof that only LINDA, ONLY LINDA, could've destroyed those files we got.

Keep reading, it's a long one, but I promise it's worth it.

THE REASON FOR THE POLYCOUNT

Firstly, I returned to my roots: the March 2021 set. I wanted to see what else I’d missed. Now, when I loaded up a specific pair of leggings Linda made, I finally understood why the polycount is so high.

If you zoom in closely, you can clearly see that each subset is duplicated multiple times. At first I thought that was normal, until I realised that it's all identical. And uh, that's not normal!

Now, what did Linda herself say? That she has experience in… clothing?

Yeah, I’m pretty sure you'd be able to do this, Linda. With your eyes closed.

THE JPG IMAGES

For awhile I wondered why this particular image was thrown in so randomly into not just this file, but almost every file in the March 2021 dump. But thanks to Linda’s providing that lovely VK link on her callout post against NoMoreSims2Patreon, I finally know the only person in this that had any ‘sentimentality’ regarding Mr Junior over here. (Yes, it’s not actually McQueen, which makes it all the more specific! I love it!)

This was posted just 1 day after that lovely March 2021 dump finally released, on 1st April. No coincidence, I bet, that this Junior is being sent by the lovely lindasims2 herself! Photo provided by @honeymoonseason and also shared to me by multiple others :]

Yeah, Linda, what do you have to say to this…? Your favourite fake Lightning McQueen has finally exposed who actually placed him in this file, and only because you were kind enough to link us to your VK group <3

THE DATES

So, after this pretty incriminating discovery, I decided to backtrack and take a look at what Linda claimed in her callout post to NoMoreSims2Patreon:

These files were apparently last edited on March 28, many days after Linda made a post announcing them. Which points to the leaker being the one to edit them, right?

Well…Linda, did you forget how you operate or something?

Linda uploaded these files on April 1st 2021, having ‘forgotten’ to upload them on March 31st. Credits go to @caramelsmiles12 and @honeymoonseason for the pics <3 Yeah, Linda, thanks for admitting your own guilt?

It’s impossible for any leaker to be able to edit files before they’re even released. To my understanding, Linda purposefully added those corrupt characters and NSFW defaults to her CC, as a sick April Fool’s prank on the people who download her leaked CC.

All of the files you see above, have had the hidden sim, PT 19 (also renamed some very bad slurs by Linda) slipped in. (Though #332 has been accidentally saved by me, lol). The top-only teen-elder male folder also contains the weird gigantoborkodoggo default. And they were all last edited a day before Linda even released the files to her subscribers.

THE EXPERIMENTS

@fireflowersims was kind enough to do some experiments with the corrupted files, to see what else we could find, as well as to dig deeper in them. I won’t state all of them here, but here are a few that stood out to me:

THE LOGIC

I can already hear Linda’s hardcore defendersand subscribers in my askbox (like @alicestrife and @sims2x10 <3) claiming that the pics have been edited, that somehow I have changed the story, etc. I have done nothing except look at the facts I have dug up or been shown. If you want proof, look at this post, it contains some stuff that may interest you and was found over a year ago. As well as the original files :]

I can already see that not being enough for some of you, so here’s the logic even if you don’t take the incriminating Junior (yeah, the fake Lightning McQueen) JPG, or the fact that the files were edited pre-release, into account.

Let’s look at the pros and cons to corrupting these files, for both Linda and her leakers.

PROS FOR LINDA: Gets to ‘expose’ the leaker that has been a thorn in her side all this time. Gets to prank the clueless people who download from her for April Fool’s. Gets more subscribers since people are desperate for ‘good’ content from her.

CONS FOR LINDA: Some people may accuse her, but of course, she always points them to her leakers. Because who else gets direct content from her? Only her hardcore patrons, who won’t turn against her.

PROS FOR LEAKERS: Uhh… maybe gets a kick out of seeing people get mad at Linda?

CONS FOR LEAKERS: People no longer trust them. They won’t download their content, which is how pirates survive in this community. Attitudes towards pirates have always been terrible in this community, especially from the paywallers themselves. Also, people will probably accuse them since they are the people who reupload CC.

Who do you think would have corrupted these files, even without the evidence shown above?

SUMMARY

Stolen meshes, illegally paywalled content, etc. was never enough for Lindasims2, clearly. No, she had one thorn in her side that she wanted to get rid of: NoMoreSims2Patreon, who continually shared her files FOR FREE to the public and meant she made much, much less money.

So, for one final April Fool’s joke of leaked content, she slipped in a very large, very corrupted surprise for anyone who downloaded from her leaker–and sat back and waited. A year later, @dystopianam stumbled across that hidden surprise and on spiraled this saga of discoveries by myself and many others.

However, Linda made a couple of mistakes. She assumed people would look at her response post and think, oh, surely it’s the leaker! Linda’s dates match up!

But thanks to Dale Earnhardt Jr. himself, a bunch of Simscorders and many others decided to research further. And found her lie. Thanks for having such love for a minor Cars 1 character, Linda!

I urge everyone to do their best to report Linda’s Tumblr account, Boosty, Patreon, etc. What she has done ON PURPOSE to destroy people’s games and frame others is NO JOKE. I am not sure if we can take legal action against this sort of ‘malware’ that she produced many years ago, but I know one thing.

A minimum of 2278 simmers have downloaded the reuploaded archive containing Linda’s special April Fool’s 2021 joke. 2278, not counting anyone who might’ve been shared these files through other links, downloaded them from friends, etc.

CHECK YOUR GAMES, guys! And for the love of all things holy, STOP SUPPORTING SIMS PAYWALLERS! ESPECIALLY THIEVES LIKE LINDA!

I thought that Pol 19 was the end of my research train, but nope, we're still going! The railway seems never-ending!

You can find the shirt file I use for my 'research' post here. It's part of the reuploaded March 2021 set and from what I can see that entire set is a giant mess.

I discovered this weird glitchy CC from this video by @marticoresims so credit goes to them and their viewers for discovering the glitchiness of it, because I honestly don't think I'd ever have opened up this file otherwise.

WHY IS THIS SHIRT SO UNIQUE?

I mean, it's pretty normal-looking, right? Cute, even. But it harbors a dark secret, more than just PT 19, who we met in my last research post.

But there's a reason this image also exists. To haunt my nightmares instead of my waking moments.

So, let's dive into this mess of a mesh file!

OPENING THE FILE

As always, I opened the mesh file first. And I think it's pretty obvious that this is no ordinary mesh file, because there's wayyy more than the 4 basic elements.

Yep, as you may be able to tell from the OBJD, Age Data, and XTOL, Pollination Technician 19 has returned to haunt my every waking moment!

FLUFFY

The real issue came to light when I checked the GMDCs.

Do you recognise him? Because I sure do! It's my bestie, Fluffy! (You may want to watch Marticore's video to understand because he lives in my head rent-free. Lol.)

Yep, for some reason, this mesh file includes a sneaky little replacement of the adult dog body mesh. However, it's very... borked?

Look how stretchy he is... he's still a good boy though...

I mean, I'm no dog expert, but I've owned dogs ever since I was a baby and have seen plenty of 'em. But I don't think Fluffy over here should exist anywhere except my nightmares.

SUMMARY

Okay, so this shirt file contains a pretty scary replacement for the adult large dog body in TS2. Why should that stop me from downloading it? - some idiot in my ask box, probably, because I don't want to answer a million asks :]

Well, uh, did you miss that part about a hidden sim being in the file? We have not only a hidden broken pollination technician, now we also have gigantoborkodoggo!

So, yeah, I remember a lot of people getting excited and trying to track this shirt CC down when Marticore made her video. So I thought I'd spread the warning that even gigantoborkodoggo isn't a good reason to get Linda's leaked CC.

Because it's not just the mesh file here, but also all 40 recolors of the 'Mandarin' shirt, that are completely filled with hidden NPCs. The recolors don't have the dog replacement, though, because even the person who purposefully destroyed these files knows multiple DRs for one thing are very bad. How kind of them to think of our games 💖

If anyone knows where this giant dog mesh came from, please let me know, because I'd love to make a standalone version for April Fool's someday 👁

I've gone ahead and counted how many hidden sims Linda hid in her 2021 April Fool's 'joke'.

246.

246 hidden sims.

This number might be inaccurate (I may have missed a few) but it's the absolute MINIMUM number of sims that is in there.

For some context? That number is larger than any premade hood's actual Default household (which is where these sims will appear). And Linda was kind enough to give them new GUIDs so they won't conflict with each other, only COMPLETELY FILL UP your hoods!

These are all of the infected files that I was able to find--if you find any others, please let me know ASAP, so that we can make sure that nobody accidentally downloads them!!

no more disclaimers im shit tired of this. no more proper grammar too, you get nonsensical grammar and vocabulary now.

this an alert to everyone who's keeping up with my lindasims2 research saga and might not see my reply to her because they have her blocked:

linda is blaming her 'leaker', @caramelsmiles12, who used to run the nomoresims2patreon account, corrupted her cc. because of course she is.

she even made a comparison between the files! how lovely! and for her, of course there's no benefit to releasing corrupted cc to a patron she knows is leaking it, right? right??

from what i can see, linda's corrupted files follow a pattern. they were all released almost around the same time...

seems kinda fishy for the leaker to corrupt ONLY those files and not the rest of it, right?

here's linda's defence for her not possibly being the one who corrupted the files. well, actually, linda, you DO somewhat know your way around more than just clothing. because you made nail files, and objects, which use 3DID reference files and OBJDs and a whole lot more. but that's not even half of it, because it's so easy for you to merge a pollination technician into a sim file with simpe by extracting and importing files, or just using lazyduchess's cc merger! which, of course, existed at the time these files were released :]

yeah, thanks linda, i'm not paying THAT much to you to get 150k poly hairs. i guess you must've missed at least one of my posts, because while you can add plenty of stuff post-production to cc files and still have them function, you can't really change something's polycounts.

so, at the end of this, we have 2 options for who did these files so dirty: @lindasims2 herself, who has so much simpe knowledge and a hate for people who pirate her 'hardwork', or the person who paid linda to share her files with everyone else.

linda, of course, wants you to go for the leakers, who also have had their games corrupted. coincidence?

here's my hot take:

who would you rather believe: the paywaller who breaks people's TOUs and steals from others, refuses to lower their polycounts, and refuses to actually help fix the problems that THEIR LACK OF ADHERING TO EA'S TOS have caused...

or the person who helps to share stolen files FOR FREE at their own cost? to a public that for some reason, still blames them and has never thanked them for their efforts?

at the root cause of this issue, is linda. because as all of you know, it's illegal to paywall sims 2 custom content, which is why we're all trying to pirate it anyways :] thanks for making our lives harder in general, linda!

a reminder to NOT send any anon hate to linda or the person who leaked these files. because although this is dumblr, we're all going to try and be the bigger people and be civil here. no death threats, no personal insults, nothing, got it?

THE LINDASIMS2 RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTATION: PART THREE

So, as mentioned in this minor update, the hidden Sim in the accessory files was apparently a rudely-named pollination technician. Me and my Simscord besties struggled to understand just what sim was thrown in there... but we finally worked it out. Thanks to Google, I guess.

I honestly feel like this is way too dramatic for a discovery post but y'know what, I'm nonsensical-pixels. Time to do the nonsensical.

THE START: PT19

Yolkema was able to load a spare save with the bad CC and check what Sim Blender did when you tried to summon them.

The result: this sim. Pollination Technician 19.

Now, we were all scratching our heads, because who the fuck is PT 19? There's no such sim in the game. So we just figured that Linda had created a sim called PT 19 and threw him in for shits and giggles.

When Yolkema tried to summon the sim, however, we discovered it was impossible. The game would lag a few seconds, but the sim wouldn't appear. So Zeta_Reticuli decided to see if deleting the package file's BHAVs, which contained sim-deleting functions, would work.

THE SLURS

WARNING: This section contains racial slurs!

After Zeta loaded the game and tried to summon the sims, we were all in for quite the shock. Instead of PT19, we had... this guy! Five of him!

We all assumed that this must be due to the BHAVs being removed, since that was the only difference we saw between Yolkema's and Zeta's games. But, well, we were wrong, of course.

THE LANGUAGE DISCOVERY

Zeta went into SimPE and made a pretty interesting discovery:

The person who changed the PT's name must be using American English, because in UK English, PT 19 makes his appearance.

So, since we're all inquisitive simmers, we decided to track down just who PT19 was.

THE FACE

My original impression was that the extra GMDC with a sim's face only used Face 2, but Zeta went back and discovered that it is, in fact, a pretty alien-looking face.

The new question: why the heck would someone go through all that trouble just to inject a monster into their downloaders' CC? I mean, I'm already terrified of the non-textured image. It's a real nightmare.

THE TRUE MONSTER

Zeta thought the sim might be a downloadable alien technician, and she was right! The hidden sim in Lindasims2's nail accessory files isn't some monster cooked up in a frying pan. It's none other than PT19 from this Pollination Technician Replacement set.

Here she is in all of her alien glory.

SUMMARY

Well, it's out now folks. After hours of agonising over who TF the sim was hidden in those files, she's here. Pollination Technician 19, stolen right from pinkdynamite on MTS's replacement set.

Now, the real question: why is she there?

This seems like the most random sim to merge with accessory files, like, ever. Is this some sort of 'fuck you' to the people who download Linda's content? From what I can guess, these accessories are the same ones Linda sends to her subscribers. They're in no way different. That means that whoever downloaded Linda's March 2021 set, probably has this sim duplicated in their game.

If you're not sure if you have her and are concerned, use the Sim Blender's Teleport option and go to the Default household. Scroll through the list of names and if you see PT 19 or the slurs in the picture, yep, you've got the Nail It Virus. Or whatever you want to call it.

If you do have the Nail It Virus, do not attempt to remove the nail/character files belonging to this sim. Doing so is akin to deleting a sim from your game. I can't promise that your game is safe if you don't, but you should definitely run Hoodchecker as often as possible!

Overall, this post was made to dig deeper into the mysterious sim found in those files. I and many others were mystified by what it was. And, well, now we know.

Alright, so far I haven't found any more 'game-breaking' stuff in the February 2021 and 'Old Content' folders. But I have found some stuff that is pretty... interesting?

DISCLAIMER: This is not really a callout post. This is a warning to anyone who intends to download Lindasim’s stuff. And a genuine one. I have nothing personal against Linda, this is only what I’ve found from my own deep dive into Linda’s files. I have no proof that what I’ve found is stuff that Linda herself did, but the stuff does exist. And it’s terrible.

This post is mostly about stuff that is 'broken' with Lindasims2's CC. I'm not an expert, but it did stand out to me.

FILE NAMES ISSUE

I got this error multiple times while trying to open some package files and had to change the names in order to open them. Conclusion: the file names are so long, so convoluted, that the game doesn't even load some of them. SimPE couldn't open them. Maybe it's my fault, maybe it's SimPE's, but... 🤦🏻‍♀️Creators, always remember to keep your file and folder names short!

RIDICULOUSLY HIGH POLY CLOTHING

This is a pajama mesh. For kids.

No words... but 31k polys? What?!?!

If your game can have a 150k hair and 31k poly pajamas on a child, I salute your wealth.

There's no attempt at lowering the polycounts for both clothing and hairs, to my knowledge... even objects weren't spared. I didn't get a screenshot but there's a 3k poly box of Kodex thrown in there.

SUMMARY

If you're using these files right now, I hope to the lord above you've compressorized them and don't use them on every single sim...
