tbh i think rtd is too into... for lack of a better word, nostalgia-baiting. hes too interested in the characters that already exist that he loves and he brings them in at a detriment to the story. too many companions coming back and little references and whatever makes it less special. plus doctor who is about change, we have something so special, a tv show that cant ever be killed even if actors pass away or writers move on or whatever - most shows don't have that! so let it change!!
