fuck it. neon future instagram
His profile is very nice but all the stories are terrible like "omw to fight that giant crab 😂😂" [blurry 3 seconds video with unintelligible screams in the background] or "chill reading evening" [grainy correspondence picture]
Don't look at his tagged tab.

I'm wondering how many times someone is going to be distracted from looking at the layover hashtag. Love the snippet 🖤💜🤍
Hahahah! I think that joke would get annoying to read after a while, but it definitely worked as a one off for someone with as short an attention span as Viktor.  And if Viktor did go and look at the hashtag again, Yuuri’s one single picture of a limp lettuce grilled chicken salad that is tagged is now buried under a bunch of other pictures that had been taken and may have done better and were algorithmically pushed up to the top of the search results because they have more engagement. For example, the Viktor fan account that “borrowed” all Viktor’s memes and reposted them on insta with the hashtags are probably the top results and the first results that come up for that tag along with a couple very aesthetic pictures from people with high follower counts...
You know...
Now that I think about it...
Maybe Viktor SHOULD look up that hashtag again. And then whine to Yuuri how he was looking at the hashtag but only found his own memes because someone stole them!
Yuuri: But isn’t that how memes work? Didn’t you just take someone else’s pictures and repost them to the internet using a template that is popular for that particular picture?
Viktor: But mine were transformative!
Yuuri: Never said they weren’t, but I really don’t know what grounds you have to complain about a fan of yours reposting your memes; that’s how memes spread. If anyone has any right to be annoyed by this series of events wouldn’t it be the person the MEMES WERE ABOUT?!
Viktor: *pouts*
Yuuri: Stop that. It’s hard to be mad at you when you pout.
Viktor: *beams*
Yuuri: Thank you. Why were you even looking at that hashtag?
Viktor: To find your secret insta, of course!
Yuuri: Oh, yeah, not helping you. *discreetly deletes hashtagged post while Viktor isn’t paying attention*

Actually, I DON’T wanted to write about my little tricks. Besides, there are enough bloggers who publish about influence and engagement in Social Media anyway. The problem – lots of them have no idea about these topics. They copy other content to get more Google reach. And some of them try to sell you outdated information as a top tip. Nobody will tell you the true tricks anyway. Usually. Maybe I have new tips? Look inside.
Increase Instagram Engagement with smart Story Posts
INSTAGRAM Story – Why you should use it
Since the acquisition of Mark Zuckerberg, a lot has changed in INSTAGRAM as well.
Recently the algorithm has been adjusted again. The focus on Instagram seems to be on the stories. Why? Well – I can only speculate there myself. I suppose because the Stories feature has now outperformed the classic feed and was well received by the Instagrammer.
Newsfeed for Bloggers and Shops
#gallery-0-10 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-10 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-10 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-10 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Give your followers an advantage
Engagement increases with promo codes.
Publish your brand new collections.
I consider the Instagram story as a great news feed for the Instagram account. Shops, in particular, should use this way for their goods. With the Story Feed, you can draw attention to your newest goods, or even to SALES.
Try out new things in Instagram Story
A second advantage is the testing of new things. How is the feedback of my new outfit? Is it worth it to post more of it in my feed? I like to try new things from time to time in the feed. If they are successful, then I create a web post on the topic. If not – they are gone within 24 hours.
This is how it happens here:
View this post on Instagram
Flott, schnell und der Hingucker für Deine Follower. Erstelle mit Canva und Ripl tolle Clips für Deine Instagram Story. #instagramstoryvideo #instastory #storyvideos
A post shared by Marion Rotter (@lifestyleluxurybrigade) on Oct 4, 2019 at 8:22am PDT
A small video, actually created for a befriended blogger, I placed into IGTV. Then I shared is into my Story as a teaser. To do this you open your IGTV video and select the function “share”. Then you choose Story. Your video will now be displayed in the story for one minute with the link “watch this in IGTV”. When your followers touch it, they’ll go straight to your uploaded videos.
The response was surprising. More than 400 people clicked on my IGTV video in the first hour and also on my feed. They left lots of comments and also on the feed post, I created later.  And best of all – more than 1,400 users clicked on my bio and came over to my website.
That’s what I call a success. Because for me it is important that the Instagram target group finds my website and thus generates more readers.
Blog Posts Evergreens or Feed Evergreens in Instagram Story
You as a blogger surely know how much work you put into your posts. A lot of time and effort. It’s just a pity that these posts eventually disappear in the Instagram suggestions with the time.  Instagram Stories are a perfect way to bring out your best “Blast from the Past” and re-engage audiences.
My goal: Transform Instagram followers  into regular readers on my website
Many Facebook users have switched more and more to Instagram. The algorithm of Facebook has already annoyed some users. So it was clear to me – I have to pick up my Facebook followers on Instagram.
But how to bring Facebook Followers to Instagram?
Because both stories – Instagram and Facebook are linked, I started to post my story posts directly into Instagram. I tagged my account – also visible on Facebook and people are switching to my Instagram Account and starting to follow it, too.
#Hashtags – the followers love-hate
youtube
You know them for sure, those long #hashtags ques on nearly every feed post? Did they annoy you from time to time? Or – have you ever received negative feedback because you’re putting 30 hashtags on your feed post?
With Story Posts, there is a much more elegant way to use hashtags. Even if you can only use 11 hashtags per post. Just because the algorithm now increasingly responds to the stories, you can achieve the same or even a higher range and commitment with fewer terms.
How To Make Effective Instagram Stories – Get More Reach
Storytelling with Pictures
Use the story area to tell a new story every day. You should make sure that the layout does not change constantly within a story. Wildly throwing together quotes, photos and graphics do perform well.
Example:
Roli was creating a really good article on our blogzine. In addition to the usual suspects, however, we have received a bit too little response. That’s why I created several slides for an Insta-Story in Canva. The coherent layouts give your Storie continuity and our followers have understood what we wanted. To get them to this brand new article on lifestyleluxurybrigade.com
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Create consistent templates per story
You do not need expensive PC software for such a design. At LSLB Magazine, we all work with Canva. It works quickly the graphic templates were created by graphic artists. With a few simple steps you can quickly create a beautiful post or just several posts about:
In Bettina’s design, for example, the fall colors are repeating the whole thing coherent.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Now it’s time to upload to the Instagram stories and here are some things to keep in mind.
Tag your own Instagram account
In every picture, you should tag your own Instagram account using @YOURACCOUNTNAME.
In your bio, the link to your website should be correct.
If the viewers of your story now like what they see there, they can access easily your bio with one tap and another little tip on your website link gets you new readers for your page.
Using invisible Hashtags
Of course, you can post hashtags on every story. Up to 11 hashtags are possible here. But how does that affect the viewer? I found all these terms in the picture rather disturbing. That’s why I colored these hashtags in the color of the background. Thus, they are almost invisible.
Advantage: If someone searches for #Fall_Deco my story appears in his search results. If the person now clicks on my story, she will not be bothered by another 10 visible hashtags. Only my @Lifestyleluxurybrigade tag is visible.
Conclusion: More readers come across from Instagram to my website.
Tagging your cooperation partners or influencers
If you also tag your co-operation partners (visible or invisible) they will receive a message in their own Instagram account and can feed your story in their story as well.
Two advantages: self-promotion and happy customers.
If you follow an influencer with a large number of followers, you can encourage him to feed your story in his own story as well.
Beispiel: “Great combination – I have seen @Monalisa and realized myself. How do you like my new #FallOutfit?”
What could happen now is that this influencer is happy about your mention? He watches your Story Board and discovers how you’ve tried his outfit. He feels encouraged in his taste and what could he/she do now? Right. You might have a big chance now get featured on the successful account of an influencer. If that does not provide new followers, I’ll eat my keyboard!
Featuring cooperation partners or manufacturers that you like
One of our cooperation has resulted in this way.
I followed a travel provider. He has legendary pictures in his story. As a result, I often just featured his pictures on my story (#featured @Traveler). Conclusion: Not a week later, a mail flapped in my inbox. Request for cooperation. Since then we work together.
Incidentally, Friday is #featured_friday in the US. Instagramers and influencers are featuring other accounts on their storyboard, they like. So you can increase each other’s reach and engagements.
Even if you distribute on behalf of cooperation in Instagram feed, it is always good, in addition to your pictures to feature the pic of your cooperation partner. Your campaign becomes more valuable for the viewer and has more varied content. Providing your highly interested followers to the cooperation partner, which is a very good “selling point”, or can play a major role in the price negotiation.
Continuity is the secret
Nothing is worse than leaving your Instagram story empty for days. You should create a story with several pictures at least once a week. Plan one or more story days and deliver new content to your followers. If you don’t have so much new content at a time, just create new designs from older content that you have not posted anymore for a longer time (Evergreens).
Tip: Save your templates on the phone or in the cloud. So you can always post back to the story quickly.
Tagging @lifestyleluxurybrigade and you will be featured into our Story
Did you like my article? Then try it out and let me know how your reach/engagement has grown, follow us on Instagram or mention us on your next story post. If we like what we see – you will also be featured by me.
Terms:
Hashtag (s): hæʃˌtæg (s) Hashtags are terms that use the rhombus while searching. I.E. you are looking for #falloutfits  you will get a list of results that leads to pictures that cover this topic.
Feed / Feeds: fiːdz The feed is the collection of your standard posts
Feature/featuring: fiːtʃə (r) n You can feature other blogs or manufacturers by sharing their images  into your story
To tag: tæɡ You can mark your account with @, but also other accounts. The owner of the account gets a message that he was mentioned in a picture. You can direct your viewers to a befriended feed or story. This is especially suitable for cooperations.
Engagement Rate: The engagement rate is a measure that measures the interactions and activity of your content. It shows you how many visitors interact with the content. Likes, comments, shares, and visitors are among the primary factors that can affect the rate.
Range: There are two varieties of range here. The organic range shows you the number of viewers with unpaid posts displayed on the screen. Then there is the paid range. When you post a paid post into Social Media, it will appear more often in the suggestions of your defined audience.

Create
Parallax themes don’t have to be simple, one page themes.  There are lots of themes out there that offer different parallax options for each and every post or page.  One of those themes is Create, by Theme Trust. Create is a powerful multi-purpose theme, combining eCommerce, portfolio and blog capabilities with an equally powerful drag and drop page builder from Site Origin.  Create is made for any sort of creative from freelancer to small digital agency, web designers, graphic designers and more.  It’ll even make your company website look better than ever before.  There are multiple responsive layout possibilities with Create, boxed and full-screen being the two main ones.  Five pre-made home page styles can get you started quickly, but if you find something is missing, you can simply drag and drop new content areas wherever you’d like them to be.  Simple, flexible and user friendly, that’s why Create is Theme Trust’s best selling WordPress theme and why I recommend it for a full featured, flexible and dynamic website.

Brooklyn is a multi-purpose full screen WordPress theme with a ton of possibilities to really add some punch and pizazz to your website.  It’s video background enabled with 3 pre-set layout variations to choose from, or create your own.  This was the most popular single page theme for three straight years on Theme Forest and it’s still going strong.  A one page parallax theme that’s great for design companies, ad agencies, graphic designers, travel agencies and more.  It’s even great as a personal website, so you can get to blogging in style.  I’ve seen some pretty cool vCard sites that use Brooklyn too.

How To Build Community Around Your Business
How To Build Community Around Your Business
Small Business

Way back in 1969 when Ross Reading, his partner Dorothy and Peter Reid opened a small bookstore in Carlton, they could hardly have envisioned that almost fifty years later it would have become an iconic and internationally acclaimed destination for book lovers worldwide.
Mark Rubbo bought the business in 1976. ‘ I had always hung around Carlton; my father was a Professor at Melbourne University and I studied there; our family home was in Parkville and then my share houses were in Carlton. In 1972 I opened a record shop, Professor Longhair’s Music Shop a few doors up from Readings. At the time Carlton was Melbourne’s artistic, bohemian and intellectual hub. That and its proximity to the University made it one of the best places in Australia to sell the books and music that interested Ross and I.’
By the time Ross approach Mark to buy Readings in 1976, Mark had developed his music business, joining forces with record store owners, Greg Young and Steve Smith. ‘In 1976, Ross approached me and asked if I was interested in buying Readings. He wanted a lot of money, $50,000 (about $300,000 in today’s terms) but I saw it as a great opportunity; I was getting jaded just selling music, and had always loved books. We raised the money from Greg and my families, changed our name to Readings Books and Music, and expanded the book sections in the other shops. I looked after the book side and Steve and Greg the music side.’
In 1983, while attending a bookseller’s conference in Brisbane, Mark met Robert Brown from University of Queensland Press. ‘He told me how they organised monthly events with writers and would get up to 200 people… Brisbane at the time was a very conservative backwater… I thought that if they could get 200 people, then, in Melbourne, we could get thousands!’
Mark worked with Greg Hocking and Iain Stewart to run an event with Helen Garner, Robert Drewe and Gerald Mundane, ‘it was fantastic, and we packed the house!’. Mietta O’Donnell and Tony Knox of Mietta’s approached Mark, and soon Readings events at Mietta’s were selling out. Mietta’s friend James Strong from Australian Airlines was approached to help bring in writers from interstate, with the first being Kate Grenville, ‘She arrived at Mietta’s very excited; Mr Strong had put her in First Class’. In the first few years more writers and spaces opened up and events were held with Bill Bryson, Peter Carey, Tim Winton, Shane Maloney, John LeCaree and Annie Proulx ‘just to name a few’. Today, Readings hosts around 400 events annually!
In addition to events, Readings cultivated community by using their shops to let locals advertise jobs, events and share houses, ‘it became the go-to spot to find somewhere to live… We were building up all these little communities.’ These little communities continued to grow, and armed Readings with the ability to defeat competition, even when it came in the form of US giant, Borders (which opened metres from Readings Carlton in 2003).
‘Our Carlton location had become one of the leading bookshops in Melbourne and Australia… I felt a competitor would like some of that action’ Mark recalls. Prior to Borders’ arrival, Mark and Steve had cashed in their Super to buy a bigger premise. ‘We had a shop big enough to offer people a range, and also to host bigger events. When Borders came we were in a much better place; our customers rallied around us and it became their fight too. People made a point of shopping with us, even though they knew the same book across the road was cheaper.’
While Readings survived (Borders closed), it wasn’t immune to the tsunami of eCommerce that swept in a few years later. ‘Our industry was hit badly by the likes of Amazon and Book Depository. We went early online line, and kept on investing more and more (we still are); initially, we tried to match our competitors’.’ After ‘haemorrhaging money’ Readings focused on being ‘more creative with offers, differentiating ourselves from those that offer the cheapest price’. This included spending more time understanding their customer and working with The Retail Doctor who conducted a huge survey of their audience. ‘The results were very illuminating – almost everybody loved us, loved what we did – our events, our service, our range, our monthly magazine – the surprising thing was that although they loved us, they didn’t shop exclusively with us,’ admits Mark. ‘The first thing we had to acknowledge was that people would use different channels to get their books – us, online, eBooks – and we had to respect that, so we had to concentrate on doing what we do to the best of our ability, and give them reasons to keep on shopping with us.’
Mark now views online as ‘another form of marketing, and a way of building our community digitally’, a community that’s nurtured by Marketing Manager Nina Kenwood and her team via online and offline content, email, social media, a monthly magazine and, most recently, a podcast.
So, after thousands of community-building events and almost half a century running Readings, what’s Mark’s advice for other small business owners? ‘I don’t see Readings as just a retailer… Be different and  DO NOT try to beat the competitors on price. If you are different you will build up a loyal core.’
Shop Readings online or find your nearest store here.

TIPS FOR COMMUNITY BUILDING
1. Understand Your Audience
The foundation for every business success starts with understanding who your customer is, and how you can best serve them. Community can only result when you get to know their needs and wants and are able to meet (or exceed) these. Just starting out? Follow the owners of Readings’ footsteps and talk to those in your own networks first, act on their feedback and ask them to help you spread the word. Utilising industry-specific Facebook groups as search engines can also help you uncover real-life customer needs, as can surveying an existing audience using Typeform or even utilising polls in IG Stories.
2. Pique Curiosity
What is your audience most curious about? What’s important to them? This is the starting point for all community-building. Are they new mums curious about how to get their child to sleep? Are they wannabe authors, curious as to how bestselling writers got their first book published? Are they recent arrivals to Melbourne looking for somewhere to live? Start by creating a thorough customer persona (using this template) and then drawing a mindmap of all the things that pique your audience’s curiosity. From this you can begin looking at ways you might cultivate community — from inviting your tribe to tune into a Facebook Live, through to attracting sales to a ticketed event.
3. Map Their Journey
As Mark found out after surveying his audience, people have different needs according to where they are in the Buyer Cycle (awareness, research, evaluation, purchase, post-purchase, advocacy). One of the best ways to build community around your business is to map your customer’s journey from start (hearing about your brand) to finish (becoming an ambassador for it). What could you do at various points to help them engage with you and attract others? An annual fundraising event? A monthly get together? A weekly podcast or Facebook Live? Or, perhaps more staff training and data processes so customers feel you “get” them through customisation (offline and online)? By mapping the journey, you begin to see the points at which community helps both your business and its audience grow.
4. Don’t Be Fooled by Followers
In this era of insta-everything, it can be easy for small business owners to believe that more followers = more community. Don’t be fooled into thinking you can’t grow/don’t have a community until you hit X followers or Y subscribers. In the words of Arthur Ashe, ‘Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can’. Your community may initially start with just two women meeting once a month and grow into an online hub of almost 100,000 business women (hello, Like Minded Bitches Drinking Wine).
5. Experiment & Collaborate
One of the keys to Readings success is their openness to experiment and collaborate with others. When it comes to building your community there are no rules. If events don’t work for you, consider another channel. If you find yourself loving a new brand, ask how they helped instill that feeling in you and whether that’s something you could replicate in your business. Consider who shares a like-minded audience and how you might collaborate to bring together, and grow, both communities.

How to Develop a Hashtag Strategy for Instagram
Love them or hate them, hashtags are a way of life on Instagram. Do you have a hashtag strategy for Instagram in place? Hashtags on IG are a lot like people at cocktail parties. Some folks show up and offer very little except to annoy the heck out of everyone else by trying to be the most popular. Other folks are there to add to the conversation and make the experience more enjoyable for everyone. Then there are the folks who attend a cocktail party and set their own pace, making their mark in a memorable way. Let’s have an Instagram hashtag party by helping you creating a strategy to call upon with each Instagram image, video, and IG Stories content you create.
When an Instagrammer clicks on a hashtag, any post that includes the same hashtag will be seen. More popular and more recent posts with associated with that hashtag will show up first.
Types of Instagram Hashtags
Hashtags, like people at the cocktail party, are not all created equal. Understanding that different hashtags can help you achieve a variety of goals is the first step in creating a strategy.
Instagram Community Hashtags: People come together on Instagram around an established hashtag. For example, in the pet space, an example is #tongueouttuesday where pets with their tongues showing can be seen. By visiting a community-oriented hashtag like this, you can engage with others, like and comment on their content, and see learn some other hashtags along the way.
Discover community-oriented hashtags by narrowing down your scope and seeing what other people in your niche are using. Do you have favorite Instagrammers in the pet space? What hashtags work for them? Take note. In fact, make use of your phone’s notepad feature for storing hashtags in bulk.
Unique Branded Hashtags: For my blog, I use #MyHeartBeatsDog. What is your special brand and hashtag message you want conveyed to your demographic? It is not essential to have one, but many bloggers and online influencers do. Perhaps you want to use the name of your blog, such as #ADogWalksIntoABar. You can build a community around a branded hashtag.
Instagram Hashtag Hack: Use autocomplete to your advantage for getting hashtags. Start typing a hashtag, such as #pets into Instagram and Instagram will give you some auto-suggestions to complete it as well as how many people are using that hashtag with post #. Here’s a screen shot:
  Where to Find Instagram Hashtags
Use both hashtags you find on other accounts you follow and who perform well, and also discover a plethora of hashtags in a variety of places. A golden rule is that just because a hashtag is popular (trying searching #cute) does not mean it will perform well for you. Chances are your posts will get lost in a sea of content. Experiment with a purpose, test hashtags, and then build those key performers into your IG hashtag strategy.
Daily IG Hashtags: Every day of the week has its own unique set of hashtags, and these evolve, change, and expand. For example, #mancrushmonday is a popular one for showing off handsome gentlemen. Why not be different and add your totes adorable mancat. Hey, there’s another hashtag: #mancat.
Start typing in the day of the week and see what hashtag results populate in Instagram, like this example for Saturday:
I find the best hashtags by exploring other accounts and seeing what they use. I have a notepad doc (or two or three) of hashtags. You may also consider using Google Drive with Google Sheets, which is mobile accessible to store, copy, and paste hashtags.
Bonus: Here are 158 Currently Popular Hashtags per the folks at Shortstack.
Trendy hashtags can be fun, but be careful: DO not try to hop on news cycle hashtags where you have no business posting images that can be deemed uncaring and spammy. For example, #HurricaneIrma should not include a photo to your latest blog post unless that blog post is helping those affected in some capacity.
If you are interested in finding out what is trending at any given time, check out Trending on Twitter here and adapt to Insta. Or, try these:
Hastagifyme
RiteTag
Tagboard
InstaProject
Where to Place Instagram Hashtags
There are two schools of thought on Instagram hashtag placement. The most obvious is within the body of the post itself, but skipping a few lines with periods to pause for breaks. In this way, the hashtags are separated from the content itself.
Many online influencers put the hashtags in the first comment after the Instagram post. In this way, your photo or video is clean but labeled with the appropriate hashtags.
Within Instagram Stories, hashtag usage is encouraged, again with a purpose. Within the IG Stories stickers, one can use a hashtag sticker or one can simply use the text feature to type in a hashtag.
Frequency and Amount
The million dollar question: How many is too many? While Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags in each post at this time, sometimes too many is, quite simply, annoying. Experiment. See what works and what does not work. Hashtags are the way to get found, explore content, and be in the mix of what is happening on IG.
Bonus Instagram Hashtag Tips
The narrower the scope of the hashtag, the more engaged the users are.
Unusual hashtags get noticed, too. For example, take a peek at the IPartyWithBruceWayne account, where Bruce’s mom combines humor and wit in her hashtag features.
You can share blog content slides on your IG Stories. Canva has free templates to appropriately size images for IG Stories.
Try browsing through posts containing a hashtag you’re already having success with as you explore for new ones.
