Larian has some kind of beef with the dark urge and I wish they'd just stop talking about them at all.

I can talk about them. People who write fanfic can talk about them. People who draw depraved art can talk about them.

You need to stop.

Please just keep adding Astarion lines, don't give anyone else any, and let the game be.

It's past the point of fixing, simply adding scenes won't fix the structural problems, and there's no use in being bothered by any of that now. Best selling game, and it's deserved and all, but.

i will NEVER get over the bhaal murdering sceleritas fel scene, it goes so unbelievably hard to me

#i was speechless when it first played #bhaal's voice is just so perfect #also re: bhaal's avatar being the reflection of sceleritas fel in his pool of blood #jaheira mentions she suspects that the butlers are to sort of keep an eye out on his spawn to make sure they dont betray him #betray him the same way that a bhaalspawn resolved the bhaalspawn crisis w jaheira and minsc #so that makes it very interesting to me how orin OBSESSIVELY would kill her butler #and with bhaal using the butler as an avatar i think it ties in with how orin is doing all of this for her father sarevok #shes committing all these ritualistic murders for bhaal. shes doing it for sarevok #and she admits it herself when you tell her the truth about sarevok and helena #bhaal doesnt seem to care much though??? because if anything he just needs a puppet chosen willing to commit murder constantly #orin 'dies' when she becomes the slayer. shes no longer orin #in bhaals words she becomes 'murder' #hence why it doesnt matter to bhaal that shes more loyal to her actual father than bhaal #im just so fascinated by the backstories of durge and orin and their relation to bhaal and his cult #because i feel like there are things in bg3 that imply durge mightve tried to resist once but failed miserably #like how sceleritas fel said durge always struggled w simple tasks which i always assumed to be murders #but i feel like it could also mean something else because durge is canonly bhaals favourite child and probably most successful one #also i fucking LOVE that the avatar of bhaal doesnt wear sceleritas fels hat LMFAOOOO #i thought it was an oversight at first because you see glimpses of his bhaald head #no its just because he doesnt want to wear a servants hat #if you wear one of the hats belonging to sceleritas #sceleritas even urges you to take it off

Me: *making ripped Dragonborn Dark Urges that just want to adopt the whole camp as their family but would chew glass before admitting it*

#i kinda roll with the template dark urge in terms of tone #the basic dark urge strikes me as leaning more towards trying to resist his nature rather than embrace it #given his dialogue if you play his little speech in the character creator #so I kinda run off that but also deviate #rinyu is going to lean more towards evil in act 3 and eventuakky betray everyone to become absolute #but moon is good aligned by the end #moon loves the camp by the end as a family #rinyu adores them as favored pets if anything #and i mean it like theyre his babies #like my stupid little rooster that wants to kill me but i like his little dance so I dont care that he pecks or jumps me #very much the same energy with rinyu and his companions #i have a feeling as bhaal's chosen he wasnt really allowed to have lasting 'relationships' #so this is how he percieves it now that he has some freedom #definitely gonna be a clash between him and astarion #the dark urge #bg3 dark urge #bg3 spoilers #baldurs gate 3 #bg3

thinking about how gortash keeps emphasizing how he and durge “always knew we had to work together to avoid the failings of our predecessors.” like he knew infighting and petty betrayals are why an alliance between the dead three never worked before, so he was probably the one trying to defuse any arguments with durge by being like we TALKED about this, we HAVE to stand together!

but they overcorrected. previous alliances might have fallen through because the chosen couldnt get along, but this one fell apart because the chosen of bane and the chosen of bhaal fell in love. and i bet he tried to deny it at first. “we just work extremely well together, we know the value of alliance, thats all” until durge goes missing.

and he tries to convince himself he doesnt care. “we still have a chosen of bhaal, i can still make this work. if i miss durge it’s just because they were easier to work with, thats the only reason.”

and then he finds the prayer of forgiveness. and i dont even know how he would continue to delude himself after that, heres proof their feelings were becoming more than just a working relationship. and he lost that. :)

Gortash: democracy is bad. people need to be forced to do things for their own good. the world needs a dictator. i don't think i can take it over on my own, though, so i'll get a co-tyrant, and just get rid of them later. hey, scion of bhaal, let's work together.

Dark Urge: ok.
