when i end up posting a 10k word ramble on main about the power of fandom spaces in regards to comfort and trauma etc, someone better give me a hug bc i've probably gone insane by then and need it

#like one on hand i completely understand why someone who has never dived into a fandom space would find fanfiction ans fanart and kinning #etc so weird #and yet on the other hand i (in my own way) understand how positively powerful these things are #like its INSANE how all these people from all over the world collectively love something to the point that there are creators who create #things in relatiok to that fabdom for the comfort of themselves or others in the fandom #that was areally bad sentence but like #like jesus if it werent for fanfics and comfort characters and fandom content in general idk where i would be #and while i dont personally kin anyone ive known people who for them having a kin was a way for them to like #not to be dranatic but to survive? to cope? #and like #where would i be without kuroo comfort fics #without fricken skz comfort fics #and like yes delulus are real and they exist and yes i see why people see those who engage in fanfics/reqder inserts as delulus #but theres a difference and to qctually appreciate that difference is like #(and i use appreciate as in to acknowledge not to positively regard smth) #like if you just take a moment to stop and think about how this one story about this character in some random show - about how #someone has written a story about that character abd another ambiguous one - how something as simple as that has calmed someone down #has helped change their way of thinking #has saved them or has helped tjem to connect with others #isnt rhat kind of.. really amazing? #and even character x character fics that arent reader inserts #like i just #NWKXMSKXNND DSOMEONE GIVE ME THE VOCABULARY AND BRAIN ENERGY PLEASW
