It's funny to me how the only moments of Wagner I like are among the most marginal and they are in order:

Liszt's much better piano transcriptions

Brangäne's lil solo in act II of Tristian + Isolde telling those two to wake tf up and hide (I cannot DEAL with the title characters' sex duet that surrounds her shining moment but I'll be damned if Brangäne's solo isn't gorgeous. Wagner also for ONCE lightens up that stupid thick slurpy German texture and you can actually hear instruments, crazy concept)

Everything else is ass.
