do u think matts afraid of foggy’s love (or even Karen) bc he has abandonment issues? i think this is something very real to how he wants to cut off everything

matt honestly has so many internal struggles but I think his abandonment issues are tied into a lot of them. like, his dad essentially chose to get himself killed when matt was at a vulnerable age. stick took matt under his wing just to tell him (a child) he was and never would be good enough and left him. I think maybe matt doesn’t think he’s worthy of love, and when he finally has it // is in a Good Place in his life, his self destructive tendencies take over and he ruins it before he gets too attached. that maybe he doesn’t deserve to be happy. think nelson and murdock, when he tells foggy they should give up even tho it was BOTH their dreams. when he doesn’t even try to explain to karen who elektra and stick were and let’s their relationship fail. when he cares enough about foggy to reveal he’s alive but then tells him they never should have been friends. I think he struggled to find matt murdock lovable, so throw in his savior and guilt complexes as daredevil, and the easiest solution/knee jerk response was to cut off everything good in his life before someone else did
