COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN

After over 15 years of dealing with the symptoms of a neurological auto-immune disease, you start to wonder if you’ve seen all the various permutations of the day-to-day things that get in your way. At the completion of this performance, I can safely say the answer is a big fat NO… although the “disability” didn’t come in a form associated with MS this time.

These days, when I gig out, I gotta have help. That’s just all there is to it. I warn everyone I perform with that I am not self-sufficient; to my utter amazement, nobody has refused to help or even complained. I am always very grateful for these wonderful people, whether bandmates, fans, or SWMBO (who does it a lot and even revels in directing traffic to a large extent).

When SWMBO doesn’t tag along, I have to tell people what I need help with: what’s coming out of the van, where it goes, who’s willing to park my van if a space isn’t convenient, here’s what I need out of which bag, what assistance I need getting on/off stage, where things go when they go back in the van, etc.

All of which is easy to do - unless you have LARYNGITIS.

I happen to be prone to this mostly-just-annoying condition for some reason. I think this bout made it an even dozen for me. I even used to keep a “Flintstones Magic-Slate” around - where you would write on the wax paper with a plastic “pen”, lift the paper, and the writing would vanish - for just such occasions. I used to get it every other year for quite some time, and then it quit showing up. Until the day before a certain gig in the local metropolis…

I had been rehearsing with a group that played Dominican music — bachatas, merengue, etc. — and I didn’t even know there was such a thing a year ago. Through the various contacts I’ve made with the salsa bands I’ve been working with, I ended up being the only “non-Caribbean” musician in a group that was doing a tribute to Antony Santos. Easy stuff if you grew up listening and playing it; very difficult to sound authentic if you didn’t. Our first gig was opening for a Dominican artist at a big club about 70 miles away. There were going to be about 500-600 people in the audience, so it was a pretty big deal.

The night before the show, my voice drops an octave and a half. I have a good time imitating Darth Vader and Lurch from The Addams Family.

Wake up the next morning and my voice is GONE. Nothing.

So I warn the band members via text: I will require extra consideration at the gig because I have no voice. A few jokes made at my expense, sure, fine, whatever.

What’s making this even more difficult is that a Winter Storm Warning went into effect at 4 pm, and they’re expecting about 8” of snow. Great.

So my mind begins taking stock of the situation: no voice, unfamiliar club, long drive through dangerous snowy conditions, Friday night traffic. Hoo boy. This oughta be fun.

I had texted the bandleader earlier in the day asking what the odds were that weather might cancel this show. He replied that the only way this show would be cancelled is if the end of the world came that afternoon. Uh-huh.

So I leave early, expecting the worst.

First 40 miles of the trip were fine; just barely damp roads, and hardly anyone out there. I’m guessing the storm scared most of the drivers off. Those that were willing to brave the freeway were scared enough of the left lane for some reason that I made pretty good time to that point.

By then the snow was starting to stick and collect, and I’m officially glad I left early. The last 30 miles of the trip take an hour and a half, including 25 minutes for the last 3 miles on surface roads. I’m starting to get annoyed at myself, thinking that no one is going to show up for this performance in a big snowstorm, regardless of what the bandleader said earlier, and I’ve risked life and limb for nothing.

I arrive on time - hooray! Amazing! However, nobody else managed to make it by the time I arrived. (How does the guy who had the farthest to go get there FIRST?) I drive to the back of the venue to find the sketchiest loading ramp I’ve ever seen, and to make matters worse, the snow hadn’t been shoveled or dealt with in any way. And so, with no assistance, I go and park in the HC spot up front, and wait. And wait some more.

Bandleader was right - the main parking lot was full, and overflow was nearly full as well. I watch everyone in their finest concert-going clothes — short dresses and high heels, partially covered by ski parkas — pass my van as I continue to wait.

After 40 minutes, a band member shows up! Hooray! He gets stuff out of my van, and I get my rollator (rolling walker) out and follow. I am given instructions to “go in and go straight back to the stage”. Before I could get better details, he was off. So I follow as best I can.

Got to the front door, and am waved over by the ticket guy who gave me a wristband. After a once-over by security I’m sent through to the dance floor. The bandleader wasn’t exaggerating; there’s got to be nearly 1000 people in here. It's a sea of Latinos! Latinos who apparently have never seen a rolling walker before, too, judging by their reaction. Or maybe their expressions said “I wonder if this gringo is in the right place”…

Now I'm left to guess what "straight back" means. Stage left or stage right? I pick stage right, and 200 feet later I see the guitarist, who happens to be the only non-english speaking member of the group. I sit, shake his hand, and wait.

And wait.

So I check my phone to see if there are any updates. The bandleader is stuck in the snow on his way to the venue. The band member who grabbed my gear is looking for me; apparently I should have picked stage left instead of right, as there is a barricade in front of the stage right steps, and I can't convince anyone to move it (I picked a very inconvenient time to lose my voice). The guitarist is just happy to wait and do nothing until someone gets his attention in spanish.

The other band member finally finds us (I guess he doesn't know what "stage right" means!) and leads us through the mass of humanity on the dance floor to the stage stairs on the other side. Stairs are a bit treacherous, but traversable (stairs are NEVER good, but there are always ways up and down even if your leg doesn’t work).

My gear is onstage waiting for me. I find my chair, sit down, plug in, have my case/etc. moved offstage, tune up, and wait.

And wait...

The soundman comes by and tells me I've plugged into the wrong DI box, and gets me set up and running through the amp. It's pretty quiet though, and the chair was placed in such a way that there's NO way I can reach the knobs to turn up. So I signal to a bandmate to help, who says he'll be right back.

So I wait some more... 10+ minutes later, he shows up again and helps me out.

Keep in mind that communication for me involved getting as close to someone's ear as possible and "shouting" to be heard. I've seen more ears close up in the last 24 hours than I want to for a while.

After what I'm sure is another 15 minutes, everyone else has arrived, set up, and been soundchecked, and we begin (30 minutes late). Very receptive crowd. Lots of folks dancing. Band sounds good, everyone is paying attention, I only made a few mistakes, and the bandleader later said that I did an amazing job. Very pleased, considering this is a totally new style of music for me!

So we finish our 8-song set, I take my bass off, unplug, and watch everyone leave the stage....

....and wait.

All this waiting because I’m sitting on a chair, my walker has been moved to the wings, and I have no voice with which to holler for help. So I can’t move or talk. I literally have to wait for someone to take pity on me, as woe-is-me as that sounds.

Finally someone comes and gets my walker, bass case, etc., and I get stuff put away and make my way towards stage left where the stairs are. A band member follows with my bass and cords bag.

I get to the stairs, someone takes the walker and parks it at the bottom, and as I begin my descent, a series of women (groupies?) try to pass me going UP the stairs - like one every 10 seconds - wanting to talk to someone from our band or the one following us. It was a bit of a confused shouting match between those who wanted up and those who were trying to help me down to explain that they need to WAIT or they were going to knock me over.

One bandmate kept saying, "Take your time, you got this, don't let them rush you." That was really helpful, just to know that someone is watching and advocating for you when you’re unable to do that for yourself (one of the many amazing things about SWMBO, for that matter).

Once I was safely down the stairs, I made my way to the back entrance w/ aforementioned loading ramp, blessedly very near the stage stairs. A band member took my bass, bag, and keys, and pulled my van around back for me. I knew the loading ramp was in no better shape than when I arrived, but I was willing to take my chances because the crowd was much larger and rowdier than when I went in. But I began to regret that decision as I made my way down what had to be a 25% grade with a rollator whose handbrakes needed to be adjusted. It took well over 5 minutes to get me about 45 feet.

Made it down a very snowy ramp, through some "plow drifts", and finally to the van. Thanked everyone profusely (if silently!), got in, and sent a message to SWMBO that I was headed home.

Surface roads might have been WORSE on the way home. Thankfully I'm very experienced in snow driving — even with my convoluted method for operating a motor vehicle — and didn't hit anything, get hit by anyone, or panic at all. Enough gas in the car, no deadlines, slow and steady wins the race, made it home in one piece.

The show must, and did, go on!

Terrorwrists vs. NYCFSA

No One Wants to Talk About Competitive Pinball

Quick background: Pinball NYC is a team pinball league now entering its 16th season. Teams of up to ten players compete at their home bars or visit other teams for ten weeks during the regular season. Team play is not sanctioned by the IFPA, and this league is largely about camaraderie and bragging rights.

This is my second season playing in the league. I was recruited to my team, the New York City Flipper Sport Association, by our captain, Eric Asher, and promoted to co-captain this season.

The first matches of the new season for the Monday night Upper Playfield division were contested on 19 February 2018. The Terrorwrists, last season’s champion, came to visit our home bar: Creek & Cave in LIC, Queens.

I was inspired to start this blog by putting together an action report of last night’s match to send to Benjamin Furiga for possible use on his NYC Pinball Podcast, and I’m going to use those comments as a jumping-off point for this post.

Hey, Benjamin, a report on our match last night. If the minutia of stuck balls is not interesting, please ignore that. The Terrorwrists visited Creek & Cave without their captain, Adam Cane, but their strong players still gave our Flipper Sport Association a run for the money. In one particularly odd moment, I was playing against Mike Pantino on The Walking Dead, and he had his second ball get stopped on the left ramp; apparently there's a flat section hidden behind the back wall, and shaking wouldn't free it. It would stay there through three more balls until it was finally knocked out during a multiball on my third ball. Both the original stopping and the eventual drain of the ball caused loss of turns, so Mike and I were each to play a compensation ball. Before the stuck ball he had put up a good score, finishing at 49 million, but during the stuck ball I was able to pass him, and with his compensation ball he couldn't catch my 87 million. After three rounds, we had clinched at least a tie, and a win in the final round gave us a 10 to 6 victory. Our player of the night was Freddy Asher (Mr. "Always a billion on Game of Thrones"), who won all three of the games he was involved with. Erik Swedlund, NYCFSA co-captain On a personal note, I finally executed the Star Wars strategy we discussed, during the Oskar Blues Brewery Pinball Circuit event at Jackbar on Sunday. Although not to the exact letter, I picked Han, worked through the necessary modes, used a multiball to get my multiplier up to 40x, and hit the Hoth shot for two consecutive video modes, together worth around 600 million of my billion-plus game. I didn't even play the video modes particularly well. That was enough for me to avoid a strike in a group with Steve Bowden, Chris Cafaro, and Dave Peller.

Of the two games I participated in, The Walking Dead against Pantino was the remarkable one. Aside from the stuck ball drama, I want to lay out what was going through my mind.

Before that, though, I want to briefly comment on the novel experience of performing some of the captain’s duties. I consider myself to be in the middle of team in terms of strength of play, though I am always striving to improve. We have team practice once or twice a week. I try to never miss those, and I’m sure this dedication played some part in Eric nominating me co-captain. During those practices, we pay special attention to each player specializing on a particular machine or two, so that we have an expert to call on no matter what might be picked. In the first round, seeing that the Terrorwrists had elected to play on Medieval Madness and Game of Thrones, I consulted with Eric on what players we would put against them. We had a good break with their choice of those two machines, as our best players really shine on them. We won both and captured all four points of the first round.

Sensing a chance to lock up the match early, we hoped to press our advantage by choosing our specialty machines, especially by doubling up on No Good Gophers, a recent addition to our venue and unique in the city. Eric also wanted to see me on The Walking Dead, the machine I specialize on.

Now, and this may be a lack of confidence that I need to work on, I don’t like playing the singles rounds as much as the doubles. I prefer having a teammate with me, to sort of back me up should I fail to score well. I was also dreading playing singles against Pantino. Mike is one of my favorite guys in the NYC pinball community, but he’s also one of the strongest guys on the very strong, defending champion Terrorwrists. My hope was that there was a chance he was on an off streak.

His first ball disproved that theory. I forget the details, but he played a multiball or two along with a mode and put up something like 35 million points. I said to him that it was a very good ball, and he said, “Don’t worry, you’ll have a good ball, too.” Did I mention that Mike is one of my favorite guys in the NYC pinball community? I had been practicing on the machine earlier in the evening and doing very well (I recall a 70 million game), but as always on this brutal game, interspersed with terrible scores. I stepped up determined to play my strategy.

Execute the skill shot. Missing this isn’t actually losing out on the value of the first skill shot, but losing the larger values of later skill shots that you’ll never get to.

After the skill shot, pay attention to the ball entering the bumpers. On this particular machine, dropping through the left top lane will not activate the bumper below it, but dropping through the right top lane will, and it will often bounce straight back up through the lane. Quick flips to change the lit lane can get you a bonus multiplier or two. Bonus isn’t huge on TWD, but when the machine is being mean, every little bit helps.

As the ball exits the bumpers, try a little shake to fend off a SDTM drain.

Get a hit on the drops (to progress towards modes and Blood Bath multiball) and on the prison (to progress towards Prison multiball) while the ball save is active.

Hit the prison again to begin Clear the Yard and light shots for progress towards Prison multiball.

Now would be a great time to complete the first set of drops to light modes. Super dangerous, but key to finding points. A bunch of games, taking this shot drains my ball with the modes sadly lit. In another bunch of games, I recover from this shot but brick on my mode select shot and again drain, taunted by the lit mode inserts.

Two of the modes are particularly good at this point, because they involve all the shots on the game, which you also want for Clear the Yard: CDC and Tunnel. CDC is on the easier to hit and safer left ramp, and it can lead to a huge score. Tunnel is on the tough orbit through the pops; it scores nicely but is also pretty good in multiball. So, try to start CDC.

Play CDC: loop the left ramp as long as you can, then start hitting all the other shots. Watch for multi-kills starting. Avoid using the inlane multiplier until you’re ready to finish CDC by hitting the left ramp two more times (then use the multiplier on the second ramp shot). You can hit the drops to extend mode time, but I’m usually not able to pay enough attention to this.

Should be pretty close to Prison multiball at this point. Bash the prison to start it.

In Prison, alternate between the major shots and the prison for jackpots. Go nuts while ballsaver is active, then trap up and try to clear some more drops (for a different supply than before) to progress towards Blood Bath and another mode.

I played my strategy. I had a good ball, like Mike said I would. Instead of draining out around step 3 or 4, I got to step 10 and about 28 million points. I felt pretty good about that, though I would have liked to have played CDC better.

Then came the stuck ball described above. Mike had added to his score a little, getting to around 45 million. I don’t remember anything particularly good about my second ball, and I don’t remember adding any significant score. On his third ball, Mike again added just a little bit and wound up with 49 million (and the prospect of a compensation ball should he need it).

Stepping up to my third ball, I studied the board and the instant info to see what I could do. I had only collected one supply on the drops, so Blood Bath was a long way off. Well Walker multiball was a bit closer at five hits. I went for the Well Walker, choosing the safer backhand of the bash toy from the right flipper. During the bouncing around I also completed the drops and lit my modes, so just as the multiball started I took a swing at the Riot shot--and hit it! I celebrated this nice stack with a fist-pump and a “Yes!”. I made an attempt at getting to Blood Bath but couldn’t. Instead, I was feeding balls to the pops through the Riot shot, bashing the Well Walker for jackpots, and then a stray shot to the left ramp started (my second?) Bicycle Girl AND freed the stuck ball . . .

Which I didn’t even notice until the multiball ended and I was attempting to trap up and think about what to do next. Instead of catching the last ball, however, my flippers went dead and bonus started counting up. That stuck ball had entered the trough, and the machine thought I had drained all my balls. Now I was due a compensation ball, also.

First I had to plunge off the extra ball I had earned--only I discovered two balls in the shooter lane. The Walking Dead was definitely a little confused. I still wanted those skill shot points, though, so I considered how best to deal with it. I decided to pound in the shooter rod rather than pull it back, and that turned out to be the right choice. I finished at 87 million.

We power-cycled the machine before starting a new game for the compensation balls. Unfortunately for Mike, he barely got to touch his ball, and scored less than a million, not enough to catch me, and I did not play my compensation ball.

I think there might be more about this evening of pinball that I could write about, but this post is getting a little long in the tooth.

The Biggest Battleship to Ever Set Sail Sunk in the Ultimate Suicide Mission

Sakae Katano recalled, “We kept swimming as a group for a while and saw the Yamato slide towards the ocean bottom. We gathered some lumber and made a raft, putting the injured men on it. By now there were only five or six of my men with me. I had a bad feeling for I knew there were sharks in the sea.In the late afternoon of April 6, 1945, five days after American GIs and leathernecks scrambled onto an Okinawa beach a scant 500 miles from Japan, two U.S. submarines, Hackleback and Threadin, lurking around the Bungo Suido exit from the Inland Sea, observed the passage of 10 Japanese warships, including a very large one.Last Remaining Pride of the Imperial NavyIn the dim light through the periscope, a sub skipper guessed the biggest enemy vessel was an aircraft carrier. In fact, it was the last remaining pride of the Imperial Navy, the mighty battleship Yamato, under full steam. Escorted by a light cruiser and eight destroyers in the East China Sea, the Yamato could only be bound for the American anchorage off Okinawa. The Japanese task force was under Vice Adm. Seiichi Ito with Rear Adm. Kosaku Ariga in command of the Yamato.Under orders to report but not attack, the submarines advised the Pacific Fifth Fleet headquarters of their sightings. Alerted by a radio message, Rear Adm. Morton Deyo, commander of the American gunfire and bombardment forces off Okinawa, prepared to execute a battle plan that would dispatch six battleships, seven cruisers, and 21 destroyers to intercept the Yamato and its cohorts. Deyo’s superior, Vice Admiral Richmond Kelly Turner, advised, “Hope you will bring back a nice fish for breakfast.” But even as Deyo scribbled his reply, “Many thanks, will try to,” the radio crackled news that Task Force 58, Vice Adm. Marc Mitscher’s fast carrier group, had picked up the scent and was already launching an airborne attack. Launched before the raid on Pearl Harbor, the pair threatened American domination of the sea. But as World War II progressed, the aircraft carrier had swiftly eroded the traditional primacy of surface firepower.The rather elderly battleships mustered by Admiral Deyo matched up poorly against the Yamato. As General Douglas MacArthur sloshed onto a Leyte Island beach to pronounce, “I have returned,” armadas from the United States and Japan sailed toward a shoot-out in Leyte Gulf in what would be the largest naval battle in world history. One of several Japanese task forces, a flotilla that included Yamato, Musashi, and three other battleships plus a cohort of powerful escorts, but bereft of any real fighter screen, plunged into Philippine waters. American torpedo bombers, virtually unmolested, pummeled the intruders. In a day-long assault, nearly 40 torpedoes and bombs smashed into Musashi before the huge ship finally capsized and sank. The Yamato fared better, suffering minor damage. However, the remaining giant fled the scene with its companions.Since then, the Yamato, as a floating bastion prepared to defend Japan itself against invasion, had stuck close to its home base at Tokuyama. But now, with the enemy ashore on Okinawa, on the doorstep of the Home Islands, the High Command ordered Yamato on what even the most optimistic considered a suicide mission. Strategists hoped the battleship’s vast firepower would distract the Americans enough to allow a massive kamikaze strike to penetrate U.S. defenses and destroy the fleet off Okinawa.Naval Kamikaze Mission Proposed For YamatoOne preposterous scenario proposed that if the Yamato could stagger through the enemy gauntlet and the ship could first empty its arsenal of 3,200-pound shells at the American troops, it might then beach itself. The nearly 3,000 crewmen would surge ashore to act as ground soldiers. Some reports claim the Yamato had only enough fuel for a one-way voyage, but author George Feifer’s research indicates the vessel held enough for a return, unlikely as the possibility might have been.With the discovery that it had left its sanctuary, the race to sink the Yamato was on. Seemingly, the contest pitted the seagoing U.S. warships against the dive-bombers and torpedo planes from its flattops. But the American men-of-war would never have a shot at the target. A prowler from the carrier Essex caught sight of the Japanese warships. Then, early on April 7, a pair of Marine twin-engine flying boats, hovering just out of range of the enemy antiaircraft guns, tracked the prey for five hours.When the distance from Task Force 58 narrowed to 250 miles, Vice Adm. Mitscher launched his planes; some 280 dive and torpedo bombers comprised the initial waves. Ensign Harry Jones, a native of Pittsburgh in an Avenger from Torpedo Squadron 17 aboard the carrier Hornet, recalled, “Scuttlebutt on the ship had it that the battleship admirals who outranked the air admirals wanted to shoot it out with the Japanese. But the Yamato’s guns were bigger than anything we had and the air admirals won out. We would intercept them.In Hot Pursuit Of a Big Fish“We took off from the Hornet, seven torpedo bombers plus fighters and dive bombers. The torpedo planes, which had search radar, did the navigation and it was a poor day for flying, rainy, misty, a lot of scud, not much ceiling. The flight leader from another carrier developed engine trouble and turned the lead over to our air group, bossed by Comdr. E.G. Konrad, a Naval Academy graduate.“The lead pilot said they ought to be in range, but we couldn’t see anything on radar. Konrad said stay on course. One plane radioed he saw a blip off to starboard about 50 miles out and we turned right. Then we saw them. Holy Mackerel! The Yamato looked like the Empire State Building plowing through the water. It was really big. We orbited around out of their gun range. They opened up with main batteries, 18-inch guns. What was surprising to us was that there were no Japanese aircraft around even though we were very near their home islands.”Unprotected Yamato Relies On Its Big GunsIn a fatal decision for the Yamato and its companions, the Imperial Navy had decided to reserve almost all available aircraft for kamikaze missions. Less than a half-dozen Japanese fighters appeared on the scene, and they were quickly overwhelmed. In its own defense, the Yamatopossessed awesome weapons. Extra guns had been added to an already prodigious array of antiaircraft firepower, six 6-inch secondary batteries, 24 5-inch antiaircraft guns, and 150 machine guns, along with all that the escorts could throw up. A special new shell equipped with a time fuse exploded into 6,000 deadly pieces. To ward off low-flying torpedo planes, the battleship’s big guns blasted giant waterspouts. But none of these defenses could deal with strikes by so many aircraft manned by skilled airmen.At 12:32, the Yamato had opened up on the approaching aircraft. According to Avenger pilot Harry Jones, “The air boss gave us the order of attack. He said, ‘Shasta,’ meaning those from the Hornetgo in first. Then he read off the order in which the planes from other carriers would attack. We didn’t have too much ceiling. I was at 12,000 feet at most and usually liked to start at 18,000 feet for a torpedo run, a steep approach and then right over the water, drop the torpedo and then get the hell out of there. Meanwhile, the bombers are supposed to be going down, so we all hit the ship simultaneously.”American Planes Draw BloodConfusion continues about who actually scored the initial hits. Some accounts report that bomb-laden Grumman F6F Hellcat fighters from the Hornet actually struck first, targeting the destroyers and the light cruiser Yahagi that formed a diamond shape surrounding the battleship. The fighter-bombers claimed two hits, and Lt. Cmdr. M.U. Beebe, the squadron honcho whose plane bore no bomb, zoomed in for a strafing run at the Yahagi. Hellcats from other ships also blasted the escorts. Their mission was to suppress and draw off fire, enabling the other attackers to zero in on the main target, Yamato.In the assault on the cruiser Yahagi and the destroyers, a swarm of Grumman Avengers, armed with torpedoes set to only a 12-foot depth, zeroed in on the smaller ships. Within a few minutes, the Yahagi lay dead in the water. Seven torpedoes and 12 bombs eventually devastated the cruiser. It foundered with only a handful of survivors left to tread water.Avenger pilot Lieutenant Robert L. Mini, separated from the others in his flight because of cloud cover, glimpsed a destroyer. He dropped his tin fish while dodging flak bursts. “Bingo!” an exultant gunner shouted over the intercom. Aviation Machinist’s Mate Third Class William A. Baker saw the Mark 13 torpedo slam into the tin can with a fiery explosion.Mini is credited with having blasted the destroyer Hamikaze. It sagged amidships, broke in two, and finally flashed its crimson underbody as it disappeared beneath the water. Three more of Yamato’s accompanying warships, battered beyond repair, were abandoned and scuttled. The surviving quartet of destroyers, all nursing serious wounds, would hang about long enough to pluck up some of those in the sea and flee to safety.Stunned But Not Out, Yamato Punches BackIt was not, however, a day at the seaside for the American Navy. Lieutenant Norman A. Weise, concentrating on his destroyer quarry, accidentally passed within range of the Yamato’s antiaircraft batteries. Shrapnel from 25mm shells burst in the vicinity of Weise’s Avenger just as he released his torpedo. Jagged shards of metal ripped through his windscreen and into the cockpit. One splinter dug into his scalp while gasoline from a ruptured fuel gauge sprayed his face, temporarily blinding him. Fragments from another shell wrecked the radio compartment, wounding his gunner. His rudder and vertical stabilizer absorbed two more hits. Weise managed to guide his crippled plane back to a safe landing on a carrier.Nine minutes after the opening salvo from the Yamato’s defenses, dive-bombers plunged down on the battleship at 400 knots per hour. A pair of thousand-pound bombs exploded near the mainmast, obliterating a radar room and a fire-control station. Avenger pilot Harry Jones recalled, “We spread out and I kept diving toward different puffs of smoke, where shells had already exploded. There shouldn’t be any damage there. There were two fighter planes in front of each of the torpedo planes. They were supposed to strafe the destroyers and probably draw some of the fire. I saw one of our replacement pilots in a plane take a direct hit and explode in the air. Down he went. I went down, dropped my torpedo and went right across the bow of Yamato. The ship was turning, but in our attack we always dropped in a fan shape so no matter which way a ship is turning, it is going to get hit. Our group was credited with two torpedo hits out of the seven planes, but the gun camera that showed my angle on the bow didn’t credit me with a hit.” From Jones’s VT-17, Lieutenant Thomas C. Durkin, the executive officer, actually registered the initial torpedo hit on the target.Torpedo Depth Recalibrated To Strike Yamato’s Weaker UnderbellyWhen the first tin fish exploded against the battleship’s hull, however, it did little damage. The squadron’s Mark 13 missiles had been set for 12 feet below the surface, striking the Yamato where the armor was thickest. One of the reasons Mini and those in his squadron settled on the more lightly shielded cruiser and the destroyers had been the knowledge of their vulnerability to even shallow-depth torpedoes. Aware of the problem, VT-84 from the carrier Bunker Hill reset its weapons to dive deeper into the water, bringing them home below the Yamato’s protective iron plates.Lieutenant Commander Chandler W. Swanson led VT-84 and instructed his people at the pre-takeoff briefing, “This squadron will attack the battleship and only in case of necessity will any pilot drop on any other target.” When they came within range of the Yamato, Swanson broke his 14 Avengers into two flights for an anvil-like approach. As they closed to drop their torpedoes, the Americans separated into groups of two and three, making a five-pronged assault.“Our Planes Were Crisscrossing Over the Target From All Directions.”Swanson reported, “As soon as we started diving from the overcast, they threw everything at us, including a barrage from the Yamato’s 16 [sic] inch guns. Puffs of purple, red, yellow and green flak blanketed the sky. It would have been beautiful if you didn’t know it was so deadly. Our planes were crisscrossing over the target from all directions. That was the most dangerous part of it. We had to keep from running into our own planes. There were so many of them and so little room to maneuver. It was surprising we had no collisions.”One plane, hit by fire from the battleship, suddenly nosed down and then blew up when it smashed into the ocean. Undaunted, the others, jinking now and then to throw off enemy gunners, a mere 500 feet above the water, homed in. From a distance of less than a mile, torpedoes flopped smoothly into the sea and then swiftly darted toward Yamato. The vessel swerved in a vain effort to avoid the onrushing Mark 13s. But at 1:37, an hour or so after the action began, three torpedoes blasted the port side, doing significant harm. Moments later, another pair hammered the stricken battlewagon on the same side. Lieutenant W.P. Popp said, “It looked like Old Faithful geyser erupting when the torpedoes hit the Yamato.”Death Blow DeliveredSeawater rushed into the gaping holes, and the ship began to list badly. Rear Admiral Ariga was forced to order flooding of the starboard-side engine and boiler rooms. A warning to sailors in these areas arrived too late, and several hundred men drowned at their posts. While the maneuver temporarily prevented the ship from capsizing, it slowed drastically with only a single screw still churning.For Lieutenant j.g. Jack Speidel from VT-29, assigned to the light carrier Cabot, this was his second crack at the Yamato, since he had been among the aviators whose swipes at the ship during the battle of Leyte Gulf failed to inflict serious damage. Now, in the East China Sea, he arrived on the scene after the first blows at the Japanese giant and her escorts. “When we took off for the Yamatoon April 7, we had one drop tank that gave us an extra hour of flying time. There was an overcast and one group never did find the Yamato. Everybody had to go through a single hole in that overcast, and there was so many planes it was incredible.“I remember colored bursts in front of us and splashes in the water from enemy ships. We came in on the port side, not real low. Others had probably already hit the ship. After we dropped the torpedo and turned away, my radioman was watching and he screamed, ‘We hit it! We hit it!’” The history of the Cabot claims Speidel’s tin fish struck “directly under the bridge, causing a terrific explosion.”Hiding From Japanese Ships In Freezing WatersA pilot from the light carrier Belleau Wood, Lieutenant j.g. W.E. Delaney, made his attack at 1,400 feet, dropping four 500-pounders. As his plane passed over the battleship, he said, “There was a loud explosion under the fuselage. The cockpit filled with smoke and fumes. One wing was on fire. I was afraid the plane would explode and ordered my crew [a gunner and radioman] to jump. They bailed out five miles southwest of the Jap task force. I watched their parachutes open, then I jumped.” Unfortunately, although Delaney saw their chutes deploy, both men apparently drowned.Delaney, after hitting the sea in the midst of the enemy vessels, managed to inflate his rubber raft. He stayed in the water, though, hanging onto the raft and hiding from the Japanese. A destroyer came within a hundred yards but veered off, apparently thinking there was no American survivor. “At first I was so cold,” said Delaney, “when the Jap can approached, I thought of giving up. But I decided they might shoot me. So I stayed behind the raft.”Patrol Planes Aided Rescue MissionThe pilots from the two Marine flying boats, Lieutenant James R. Young and Lieutenant j.g. Richard L. Simms, still on station, saw Delaney floating amid Japanese sailors who had abandoned their sinking ships and clung to bits of wreckage. While Simms acted as a decoy to draw off any fire from the remaining enemy vessels, Young set down his patrol plane, took Delaney aboard, and flew him to safety on Okinawa.According to Harry Jones, observation or scouting planes that ordinarily launched by catapult from the decks of battleships or cruisers had been ordered to tag along to perform rescues like the one that saved Delaney. “I remember a pilot from one of these came on the radio and said he was getting low on gas and was going to turn around. I heard what must have been a fighter pilot say, ‘If you turn around, you son of a bitch, I’m going to shoot you down.’”On board the Yamato, Sakae Katano, a 26-year-old sub-lieutenant with a duty to organize repairs from air raids, made a futile attempt to restore operations. “Telephones were not working any longer and the ship started to heel. I left one of my men behind and took the rest to do the repairs. But while we were running there, a torpedo hit the right side of the ship. I closed the hatch and came up again. Our personal belongings were floating in the water, which came up to our knees.Yamato’s Final Hours“The flag could no longer be seen and I thought nothing more could be done. I tried to go back to my men but found it impossible because of the water. I called my men; there were 18 of them and they came by. I ordered them to leave the ship, jump into the sea. They did not have enough courage to follow the order, so I jumped first. I say ‘jump’ but it was really a matter of sliding down the side of the ship. My men followed.”Ensign Mitsuru Yoshida reported, “The desolate decks were reduced to shambles. Big guns were inoperable because of the increasing list, and only a few machine guns were intact. One devastating blast in the emergency dispensary had killed all its occupants, including the medical officers and corpsmen.”The Yamato, considered a luxury ship by Japanese sailors ordinarily confined to fetid, spartan quarters, could only be described now as hell on water. Amid the continuing explosions of torpedoes and bombs, American planes methodically hosed the stricken ship with machine-gun fire. Steam from ruptured pipes scalded sailors; fire incinerated others; corpses and body parts littered the blood-soaked decks.The Skipper Bound In The BridgeIt was apparent to those in command that the Yamato was doomed. Amid the wreckage and bodies strewn about the bridge, Seiichi Ito, as task force commander, signaled the other ships to abort the mission. Those still afloat would try to pick up some of the men floundering in the water and then head for port. Ito saluted, shook hands with some other officers, then locked himself in his cabin. He would go down with the battleship.The Yamato’s skipper, Ariga, rather than permit hallowed portraits of the Emperor and Empress to suffer the indignities of capture, arranged for an officer to secure himself in a room with the artwork. Ariga then ordered a seaman to bind him to a binnacle on the bridge. There he chewed biscuits, awaiting his inevitable fate.In the bowels of the battleship, fire cooked off ammunition magazines, inducing shattering convulsions of the infrastructure. The subterranean blasts erupted through the steel decks into a 6,000-foot tongue of fire stretching into the sky. A four-mile pillar of smoke trailed the Yamato. At 2:23 in the afternoon, the great ship rolled over and sank, dragging down with it some 2,500 sailors. Only 269 survived.Role Of the Battleship In Naval Warfare Comes To a CloseSakae Katano recalled, “We kept swimming as a group for a while and saw the Yamato slide towards the ocean bottom. We gathered some lumber and made a raft, putting the injured men on it. By now there were only five or six of my men with me. I had a bad feeling for I knew there were sharks in the sea.“American planes came strafing but after a while they were gone. Japanese destroyers began to appear, so we tried to swim to get near them. Because of the tidal current we couldn’t. Finally, we gave up and fell asleep on the raft. Then I heard voices and, when I opened my eyes, I found the destroyer Ukikaze nearby. I swam near it and was expected to climb a rope ladder to the ship. I ordered a crewman on the destroyer to throw a rope down to me. I looped the rope around my waist and put one end in my mouth so my teeth could hold it while they pulled me up. My hands were too slippery to hold the rope and besides I was too exhausted.“After I was rescued, I went to see one of my men. I offered him a cigarette but he could not take it. He was completely armless and legless. He died while on the destroyer.”The hopeless excursion by the Japanese task force ended with as many as 3,750 of its crews dead. Mitscher counted 10 aircraft and 12 airmen lost. Whats up all, so today I was really excited because I’m gonna go through and take ten of my 3d printers compare them all tell you which ones I liked which was I don’t like what I like about them what the differences are what might suit your needs and yeah we’re just gonna go through all them so I currently have ten FDM printers and one DLP resin printer so I’m gonna go through all the FDM printers today and there’s a huge 3-d printer sale going on in gearbest so if you want to check out any of these there’ll be a link in the description where you can check out each one I’ll also put just a link to their overall sale page and yeah basically all the 3d printers are on sale right now so if you’re you know trying to figure out which one to buy this might be a good video for you so let’s go inside cuz I didn’t have enough room out here and I got all the 3d printers on the table and let’s go check it out okay guys so check it out I got nine different printers here let me get a higher angle so you can maybe see this better um let’s start off let me just go through and tell you what I got here on the table let’s start here this is a CR 10 s I got an a net a for Delta an FL Sun Delta in the back there I got a TiVo Michaelangelo jg r or a 5 any cubic I three mega TiVo tornado Thor bot buddy couple dual extrusion printer and the any cubic linear plus Delta okay so we’ll start it back here at the CR 10 and we’ll just work our way to the left here now this is the CR 10s I previously had the regular CR 10 and I gave that to my dad for Christmas I’ve also had several clones of the CR 10 like you know like the team or trader over there but I’ve had the trunk see what is it the x3 I think it’s called I also had the a net e 10 and the a net e 12 both of them I don’t currently have but they’re all very good machines but the CR 10 out of all the this and the TiVo definitely do it the best that’s why I kept this one the regular CR 10 is great especially if you’re trying to save a little money you do get extra features on this one so the extra features you get with the S model is you get a filament run-out sensor you get a power resume so like if I accidentally unplug it or if after that you know if the power goes out or something I can just restart it also too we get dual z-axis work threaded rods and motors so it’s a little more stable but it basically the print quality is basically the same you get very very very good print quality on the CR 10 and how I’m gonna say how good everything prints is I’m gonna compare it to the C okay I feel like the CR 10 right now is kind of like the benchmark so this is something I printed on the CRC our 10 its Yoda benches and pretty cool he’s like Yoda group Benji yeah really really bizarre well you know I said printed printing this really good I didn’t do any clean up after like it’s still a little you know burrs on it and stuff cuz I haven’t ripped off the brim either this literally got done printing 10 minutes ago before I started reporting all the printers on the table okay so the things that logo out the CR 10 first off it can print huge it’s got you know a huge build volume it prints great quality obviously things I don’t like though is you can’t really print abs unless you mod it there the bed does not like to get hot enough and the extruder can but the bed just does not really get over like 70 degrees it’s quite hard to get it over 70 degrees but and I also don’t like how it takes up so much room on the table but that’s good is it you know it’s a big printer so I guess it’s kind of a trade-off but it is very good it’s very stable you don’t really have to do any tweaks once you get it up and running good you just keep it the same like I haven’t had to have retighten the belts I haven’t you basically just level the bed if you move the printer if you don’t move it it doesn’t really go out of whack okay so this one though is like 450 ish with the sale price so it is a little pricier but you’re getting probably the biggest community to behind the printer okay so let’s move onto the next one okay so next we got the a net a for Delta okay now this one comes almost all the way assembled I think it took me a little over an hour and I’ve done reviews on all these if you want to look further into them but this printer I really like it actually it printed really good right out of the box here’s something I printed on it I mean not perfect but not bad and yeah I mean I like how the spool holder too is just like right on top that’s already good to go um I was I’m normally not the biggest fan of a net but I like this one I like this more than the a nut e 12 and the a nut e 10 both of which I’ve had in the past but I don’t have currently um I do not like how it’s just these push buttons oh I prefer the the old knob and stuff like most the printers have but other than that it’s actually surprisingly good quality it’s got belt tensioners already on it you don’t have to print off any parts basically it basically done no modifications to it and it’s printing pretty decent okay next we got another Delta in the back here this one is cheaper it’s definitely way harder to make like this one took me maybe 10 to 12 hours to put together but there is some cool features on this like it has bring this up a bit bear with me here I need to stuff around okay it has an auto level so like you can hear that click so it probes the bed and you know the auto levels you just type in g29 to the start code and based on that is really nice because it’s a very cheap printer that you don’t have I think it’s like a hundred and seventy bucks normally or with sale or whatever that’s very cheap printer there’s also some pretty high quality parks like all these plastic parts are all injection molded there’s not really any printed parts on it I I added a heated bed so it did not come with a heated bed they do also sell a heated bed version but stock one does not that one is a kind of a pain to put together but other than that that’s a pretty good printer it’s got pretty good quality on a bed level so it was a plus the wire management is a little crazy like the wires are just like hanging everywhere which I don’t like but other than that you can’t really not get the prints really good next we got this one here this is the jg Aurora a5 now this is one of my new favorite printers I’ve only had this not that long but man I think I like this maybe more doesn’t see our time honestly it prints just as good the quality except this one I can print ABS I can print nylon and I for any high temp material it prints great it got basically this is basically like the same thing as the any cubic ultrabass like you see here on the i3 mega mom so it you know you don’t have to put any adhesive on there or anything um I do think this printer is awesome because unlike the CR 10 how I got the control box to the side and everything everything’s right in here it’s just one solid printer like you could just you could like literally pick it up while it’s printing and it wouldn’t really affect the print now let me show you one of the coolest things about this only turned on okay so you’ll notice a little loud just that one fan but you’ll notice it’s full colored touchscreen I think like literally everything like all printers should have this um I think you know just your standard Marlin you know turn knob just the blue screen it’s really getting old I think it’s 21st century everything should use this this also just like the CR 10 it’s got you can auto resume for after power loss it’s got a filament run-out sensor over here and then I love how like the filaments tucked away like from the front you can’t even see it I’ll also to like I like how it’s all like you know from the back you can’t really you can see it but you can I got a big mess of ABS that got stuck on a film print and I didn’t fix it so ignore that but I like how like you can’t really see the nozzle and everything um this printer though this is probably the best deal in 3d printer right now cuz I think now it’s on sale for like 319 or something and it’s based you’re basically giving a CR 10 that can print ABS the build volume in the z-axis isn’t as high it’s 100 millimeters shorter so you won’t be able print as high stuff but it’s just as big on the X and the y so it’s like 305 by 305 by 300 I think so that’s pretty big okay now one printer that is very similar to this one sorry this is very dirty it was a my garage and it got really dirty I have been using this on a lot those is one of my most used printer this is my any cubic I three mega now this printer it’s it’s honestly it’s like a smaller one of these I think this one came out first I’m not quite sure but basically both these printers you can put them together in five minutes so that is just hands-down freaking awesome but besides that the any cubic I three mega also has the touchscreen the colors aren’t as vivid as the touchscreen on there and also has the filament run-out sensor power on/off and everything I can also print ABS and all those different materials also has this awesome ultra base yeah I think this printer if you don’t need a big printer it’s like what is still pretty big it’s bigger than like your standard like a net eight or a six or anything but if you don’t need like a giant printer this might be the printer to get and I’ve personally dealt with any cubic two different times and both times they were like the best customer service ever so my ultra base my first time I got it came messed up they sent me a brand new or no-questions-asked had it shipped out that day so that is pretty awesome I mean now let’s go here to the back and we got the TiVo michelangelo’s a small little little printer it’s also a very cheap printer one thing about it is it comes basically a 100 percent of samples like you don’t have to do anything you just plug it in it prints actually quite well the only downside is there’s no heated bed I heard they are remodeling it with a heated bed I don’t know if that’s gonna up the price because this printer is just over a hundred dollars if you want something small that doesn’t take up a lot of space and just want it really easy to set up foam your newb this might be a printer for you it doesn’t have a huge build volume but it’s big enough to print you know you’re just you’re right unless you’re not printing something like a face you know you’re gonna be okay I mean it’s still pretty decent-sized it’s just nothing crazy okay next we got maybe the best 3d printer they came out last year I don’t know we got the TiVo tornado now I think the CR 10 was just killing everybody and then a bunch of clones came out of the shower time like that Ian at E 12 a 90/10 the Tron see whatever X 3 or whatever X 5 or whatever it’s called but then this printer came out and they’re like you know they got all the same design same size but they did some changes and I really really really like what they did here they added a AC heating module for the bed so the bed can literally heat up in minutes – like ABS temperatures this printer isn’t the best of printing abs if you enclose it it is but I’ve had some problems I can print ABS on it but sometimes the parts will warp especially if it’s a big print if it’s a small print it’s usually okay but yeah just cuz it’s so big also – if you have it in a hot room that’ll help but this printer is just awesome I love this TiVo Titan extruder this is by far my favorite extruder and they sent a dexter one I haven’t had to use it but it’s all very similar to the CR ten one thing I don’t like about is it does not come with a spool holder so it comes with like an STL file or AG code so you can just print one but they they should have already had that printed for you but yeah I don’t know it just prints I can burn really fast on this notes – like the CR 10 I try not to get it above 60 millimeters a second this one I can easily print at like 70 sometimes 80 if it’s not that complex you know of a design but our sorry of a model but yeah it prints great great quality I’d say just as good quality as the CR 10 I did have some salmon skin effects I think on all the new models so if you’re by now you you won’t have that I think they’d use a different board now but I had to add some TL smoothers they were very cheap but I had to add them to the box so that’s why my control box is open here so maybe I can just show it to you I never put the screws back on but um yeah that’s what come on sorry trying to do this with one hand so those are the TL smothers so they’re very easy they just plug right in so I added those and it eliminated the salmon skin and yeah it just prints beautifully okay so we got two more two printers on the table here this one this one I really like this is the any cubic linear plus I just recently did a review on this it’s got this awesome auto bed level probe so you put this on it’s just a magnet this is it sticks right on whoops right there and then it probes you know but I’m gonna be like beep beep beep it does like 39 spots and then you know then you hit store on the member here it stores it in and then when you go to print it knows where everything is it works perfect and I love this build platform it does have a heated bed and this comes almost all the way assembled I also really like how this ball holder is just on the metal frame right there the power supply you know it’s nice and safe has the on/off switch yeah I just really really really like this one okay so next time we’re gonna go let’s move this one a little okay we got the robot Bonnie couple okay now let me tell you when I first got this printer I thought it was the bee’s knees I was like this thing is so friggin awesome you can print dot two different colors you can mix colors after having it for a month the thing doesn’t work anymore it still turns on and everything but it jams every time I try to print two colors I even changed this whole carriage this guy remodeled this saying he had the same problem but my problems didn’t really change I’m definitely gonna have to do some work on that I was gonna give that one away to my friend but I don’t even I gotta fix it before him and give it to him cuz I feel bad giving it to him so this printer it’s all metal construction everything it would compute to colors it was really cool but after a month it just crapped out on me and I cannot figure it out it’s in the nozzle it uses this a crazy giant giant nozzle you can see there’s a huge mess of stuff on there let me zoom in oh yeah it’s huge it’s like five hundred times the size of a regular nozzle so I need to know how you replace that I don’t know what the inside of the hot end is like they both feed in there in this fan on it is so loud I got if I was gonna keep that I would replace those fans yeah it printed great for like a month and then it just started clogging all the time I don’t know if he just they got buildup in there I was trying to you know I’ve taken good care of it I don’t really know but okay so these are all the printers I have in there I have one more printer that doesn’t fit it’s not that big I just didn’t have any more room on the table so let me go grab that and I’ll show you that and then we can wrap this up okay guys this is the zone star z5 and you have never seen this on my channel that is because I refused to review this one it was so bad it had so many problems right out the box that I didn’t review it and I just salvaged different parts that’s why not everything is here but it is basically absolutely horrendous I have never checked out any other zone star products but I do not want to this was a nightmare to put together it was supposed to be a fast assembly but that’s not even it there was two broken end stops off the box so I had replacement stuff so I replaced them then after replacing I might notice the why and stop the bed can go so far back that it will be printing in midair like you won’t even you know I mean like it’ll be way off here so I had to mod it to pull it forward and it still didn’t work okay so then after I finally got everything set up I replaced it with a bunch of my own parts I turned it on and then it blew a thermistor and I’m like what the heck like right away so I replaced that then it blew another thermistor and then I just said you know what I’m done with this thing this thing is a piece of garbage I replaced four parts had to mod one and it in like okay and then this spooled or you can’t even fit a normal spool of film and I look how then this is like it you cannot put a spool of filament on there so I don’t even know what the point of having that is but yeah it was just terrible we had Auto level sensor so I thought that was cool but I never even got to use it I literally did not I I played with this thing for two days never even got one print off of it so just so you guys know if I get anything I recommend it’s because I recommend it if I don’t like something I’d rather just not even make the review then make a video trashing it so just so you know don’t you know if I say something’s good I’m not lying you guys I will not redo a review on something I do not like so this has been all my printers so let’s go inside I’ll give you a little conclusion of what I think and yeah okay guys so in conclusion which ones these are my favorite which ones I like the best okay so as far as partition style printers go my favourite smaller one is actually the any cubic ie three mega this is probably my most used on the joint it’s filled with just dirty as hell I use it all the time and you can print basically every type of material if anything goes wrong any cubics got great customer service but yeah sometimes it’s just not big enough for the job so sometimes I need something like my CHF back there or my JJ or or a five so the ginger I’ve only had this for like a month the CR ten I’ve had much longer Sanatana can honestly say is super reliable they have the best community ever then more people have the CR ken basically than any other printer so if one thing that really matters to you is being able to get support ask people for help if you’re totally new the CR ten is great the regulars here ten is pretty cheap it’s it’s well not cheap but it’s not as expensive as this one this one’s like 450 he’s still 300 to 350 or so for the regular one but honestly if you’re not gonna be printing huge all the time and you only have that much s but I would get the JJ Aurora because the JJ Aurora is on sale right now for only 319 and you can go almost as big as that and print every material and I honestly like this build platform better doesn’t have as big of a community behind it but I haven’t had to do anything like I literally have not done a single modification since I got this um CR ten though I see you cannot go wrong you lizard these are two of my favorite printers ever but the teamwork tornado also like all three of these are so close the team Oh tornado though I can turn it on and it’s all ready to go boom just like that the Tibor tornado if you get the newer one which if you ordered now yeah if you’re good don’t get one used um I would recommend getting one of the new ones I’ve gearbest if you’re gonna get one because you just affect the bedsheets up so fast and everything is so awesome Tibo also has great customer service they’re one of the only printers that comes with an actual instruction booklet this one’s also quite cheap right now it’s just a little over three hundred they take 325 or 350 of the most but it’s really cheap like when this first came out it was it was more than that as far as Delta printers go I’m gonna say anything from any cubic any cubic kills it if you don’t know how to money for the castle linear plus over there just get the regular castle I did a review on that too it in the past I gave that one to my brother but that printer is awesome and both any cubic they like no matter what you get they have awesome customer service the regular Castle much cheaper this one can do bigger stuff it can do more stuff it’s got a better power supply it can do different types of materials like abs and stuff where your regular one doesn’t have a heated bed and you can’t so if you’re only one we’ve got a budget you like building stuff I get the regular any cubic Castle but if you got extra money definitely get the lay meter plus back here we got the team of Michelangelo that think’s pretty nice but we got I’ve heard that the end or two it has heated bed so I think I’d rather get that but if you’re on a budget that one’s a little cheaper telling like 109 dollars but yeah overall I think your best bets are if you want something smaller get the any cubic I drew mega if you want something bigger and you got the money to spend and you don’t care about printing abs and stuff get the CR ten because having that big community really helps it means a lot but if you want to print all different materials get the JJ Aurora or the T book tornado hey JJ Turner though I have had more success printing abs and stuff the T Bo you can do it but it can be a little finicky so this is probably my sleeper I did not when I got this printer I didn’t know what to think of it and I’ve been blown away by this touchscreen too as well as the i3 is just killer but I love how this is all color and it just looks cool so yeah I could recommend any of these except the Thor BOTS and the zone star z5 don’t get either of those but any of these these are all good printers I’ll put links to all of them but yeah these are like my four favorite is Whats up all, so today I was really excited because I’m gonna go through and take ten of my 3d printers compare them all tell you which ones I liked which was I don’t like what I like about them what the differences are what might suit your needs and yeah we’re just gonna go through all them so I currently have ten FDM printers and one DLP resin printer so I’m gonna go through all the FDM printers today and there’s a huge 3-d printer sale going on in gearbest so if you want to check out any of these there’ll be a link in the description where you can check out each one I’ll also put just a link to their overall sale page and yeah basically all the 3d printers are on sale right now so if you’re you know trying to figure out which one to buy this might be a good article for you so let’s go inside cuz I didn’t have enough room out here and I got all the 3d printers on the table and let’s go check it out okay guys so check it out I got nine different printers here let me get a higher angle so you can maybe see this better um let’s start off let me just go through and tell you what I got here on the table let’s start here this is a CR 10 s I got an a net a for Delta an FL Sun Delta in the back there I got a TiVo Michaelangelo jg r or a 5 any cubic I three mega TiVo tornado Thor bot buddy couple dual extrusion printer and the any cubic linear plus Delta okay so we’ll start it back here at the CR 10 and we’ll just work our way to the left here now this is the CR 10s I previously had the regular CR 10 and I gave that to my dad for Christmas I’ve also had several clones of the CR 10 like you know like the team or trader over there but I’ve had the trunk see what is it the x3 I think it’s called I also had the a net e 10 and the a net e 12 both of them I don’t currently have but they’re all very good machines but the CR 10 out of all the this and the TiVo definitely do it the best that’s why I kept this one the regular CR 10 is great especially if you’re trying to save a little money you do get extra features on this one so the extra features you get with the S model is you get a filament run-out sensor you get a power resume so like if I accidentally unplug it or if after that you know if the power goes out or something I can just restart it also too we get dual z-axis work threaded rods and motors so it’s a little more stable but it basically the print quality is basically the same you get very very very good print quality on the CR 10 and how I’m gonna say how good everything prints is I’m gonna compare it to the C okay I feel like the CR 10 right now is kind of like the benchmark so this is something I printed on the CRC our 10 its Yoda benches and pretty cool he’s like Yoda group Benji yeah really really bizarre well you know I said printed printing this really good I didn’t do any clean up after like it’s still a little you know burrs on it and stuff cuz I haven’t ripped off the brim either this literally got done printing 10 minutes ago before I started reporting all the printers on the table okay so the things that logo out the CR 10 first off it can print huge it’s got you know a huge build volume it prints great quality obviously things I don’t like though is you can’t really print abs unless you mod it there the bed does not like to get hot enough and the extruder can but the bed just does not really get over like 70 degrees it’s quite hard to get it over 70 degrees but and I also don’t like how it takes up so much room on the table but that’s good is it you know it’s a big printer so I guess it’s kind of a trade-off but it is very good it’s very stable you don’t really have to do any tweaks once you get it up and running good you just keep it the same like I haven’t had to have retighten the belts I haven’t you basically just level the bed if you move the printer if you don’t move it it doesn’t really go out of whack okay so this one though is like 450 ish with the sale price so it is a little pricier but you’re getting probably the biggest community to behind the printer okay so let’s move onto the next one okay so next we got the a net a for Delta okay now this one comes almost all the way assembled I think it took me a little over an hour and I’ve done reviews on all these if you want to look further into them but this printer I really like it actually it printed really good right out of the box here’s something I printed on it I mean not perfect but not bad and yeah I mean I like how the spool holder too is just like right on top that’s already good to go um I was I’m normally not the biggest fan of a net but I like this one I like this more than the a nut e 12 and the a nut e 10 both of which I’ve had in the past but I don’t have currently um I do not like how it’s just these push buttons oh I prefer the the old knob and stuff like most the printers have but other than that it’s actually surprisingly good quality it’s got belt tensioners already on it you don’t have to print off any parts basically it basically done no modifications to it and it’s printing pretty decent okay next we got another Delta in the back here this one is cheaper it’s definitely way harder to make like this one took me maybe 10 to 12 hours to put together but there is some cool features on this like it has bring this up a bit bear with me here I need to stuff around okay it has an auto level so like you can hear that click so it probes the bed and you know the auto levels you just type in g29 to the start code and based on that is really nice because it’s a very cheap printer that you don’t have I think it’s like a hundred and seventy bucks normally or with sale or whatever that’s very cheap printer there’s also some pretty high quality parks like all these plastic parts are all injection molded there’s not really any printed parts on it I I added a heated bed so it did not come with a heated bed they do also sell a heated bed version but stock one does not that one is a kind of a pain to put together but other than that that’s a pretty good printer it’s got pretty good quality on a bed level so it was a plus the wire management is a little crazy like the wires are just like hanging everywhere which I don’t like but other than that you can’t really not get the prints really good next we got this one here this is the jg Aurora a5 now this is one of my new favorite printers I’ve only had this not that long but man I think I like this maybe more doesn’t see our time honestly it prints just as good the quality except this one I can print ABS I can print nylon and I for any high temp material it prints great it got basically this is basically like the same thing as the any cubic ultrabass like you see here on the i3 mega mom so it you know you don’t have to put any adhesive on there or anything um I do think this printer is awesome because unlike the CR 10 how I got the control box to the side and everything everything’s right in here it’s just one solid printer like you could just you could like literally pick it up while it’s printing and it wouldn’t really affect the print now let me show you one of the coolest things about this only turned on okay so you’ll notice a little loud just that one fan but you’ll notice it’s full colored touchscreen I think like literally everything like all printers should have this um I think you know just your standard Marlin you know turn knob just the blue screen it’s really getting old I think it’s 21st century everything should use this this also just like the CR 10 it’s got you can auto resume for after power loss it’s got a filament run-out sensor over here and then I love how like the filaments tucked away like from the front you can’t even see it I’ll also to like I like how it’s all like you know from the back you can’t really you can see it but you can I got a big mess of ABS that got stuck on a film print and I didn’t fix it so ignore that but I like how like you can’t really see the nozzle and everything um this printer though this is probably the best deal in 3d printer right now cuz I think now it’s on sale for like 319 or something and it’s based you’re basically giving a CR 10 that can print ABS the build volume in the z-axis isn’t as high it’s 100 millimeters shorter so you won’t be able print as high stuff but it’s just as big on the X and the y so it’s like 305 by 305 by 300 I think so that’s pretty big okay now one printer that is very similar to this one sorry this is very dirty it was a my garage and it got really dirty I have been using this on a lot those is one of my most used printer this is my any cubic I three mega now this printer it’s it’s honestly it’s like a smaller one of these I think this one came out first I’m not quite sure but basically both these printers you can put them together in five minutes so that is just hands-down freaking awesome but besides that the any cubic I three mega also has the touchscreen the colors aren’t as vivid as the touchscreen on there and also has the filament run-out sensor power on/off and everything I can also print ABS and all those different materials also has this awesome ultra base yeah I think this printer if you don’t need a big printer it’s like what is still pretty big it’s bigger than like your standard like a net eight or a six or anything but if you don’t need like a giant printer this might be the printer to get and I’ve personally dealt with any cubic two different times and both times they were like the best customer service ever so my ultra base my first time I got it came messed up they sent me a brand new or no-questions-asked had it shipped out that day so that is pretty awesome I mean now let’s go here to the back and we got the TiVo michelangelo’s a small little little printer it’s also a very cheap printer one thing about it is it comes basically a 100 percent of samples like you don’t have to do anything you just plug it in it prints actually quite well the only downside is there’s no heated bed I heard they are remodeling it with a heated bed I don’t know if that’s gonna up the price because this printer is just over a hundred dollars if you want something small that doesn’t take up a lot of space and just want it really easy to set up foam your newb this might be a printer for you it doesn’t have a huge build volume but it’s big enough to print you know you’re just you’re right unless you’re not printing something like a face you know you’re gonna be okay I mean it’s still pretty decent-sized it’s just nothing crazy okay next we got maybe the best 3d printer they came out last year I don’t know we got the TiVo tornado now I think the CR 10 was just killing everybody and then a bunch of clones came out of the shower time like that Ian at E 12 a 90/10 the Tron see whatever X 3 or whatever X 5 or whatever it’s called but then this printer came out and they’re like you know they got all the same design same size but they did some changes and I really really really like what they did here they added a AC heating module for the bed so the bed can literally heat up in minutes – like ABS temperatures this printer isn’t the best of printing abs if you enclose it it is but I’ve had some problems I can print ABS on it but sometimes the parts will warp especially if it’s a big print if it’s a small print it’s usually okay but yeah just cuz it’s so big also – if you have it in a hot room that’ll help but this printer is just awesome I love this TiVo Titan extruder this is by far my favorite extruder and they sent a dexter one I haven’t had to use it but it’s all very similar to the CR ten one thing I don’t like about is it does not come with a spool holder so it comes with like an STL file or AG code so you can just print one but they they should have already had that printed for you but yeah I don’t know it just prints I can burn really fast on this notes – like the CR 10 I try not to get it above 60 millimeters a second this one I can easily print at like 70 sometimes 80 if it’s not that complex you know of a design but our sorry of a model but yeah it prints great great quality I’d say just as good quality as the CR 10 I did have some salmon skin effects I think on all the new models so if you’re by now you you won’t have that I think they’d use a different board now but I had to add some TL smoothers they were very cheap but I had to add them to the box so that’s why my control box is open here so maybe I can just show it to you I never put the screws back on but um yeah that’s what come on sorry trying to do this with one hand so those are the TL smothers so they’re very easy they just plug right in so I added those and it eliminated the salmon skin and yeah it just prints beautifully okay so we got two more two printers on the table here this one this one I really like this is the any cubic linear plus I just recently did a review on this it’s got this awesome auto bed level probe so you put this on it’s just a magnet this is it sticks right on whoops right there and then it probes you know but I’m gonna be like beep beep beep it does like 39 spots and then you know then you hit store on the member here it stores it in and then when you go to print it knows where everything is it works perfect and I love this build platform it does have a heated bed and this comes almost all the way assembled I also really like how this ball holder is just on the metal frame right there the power supply you know it’s nice and safe has the on/off switch yeah I just really really really like this one okay so next time we’re gonna go let’s move this one a little okay we got the robot Bonnie couple okay now let me tell you when I first got this printer I thought it was the bee’s knees I was like this thing is so friggin awesome you can print dot two different colors you can mix colors after having it for a month the thing doesn’t work anymore it still turns on and everything but it jams every time I try to print two colors I even changed this whole carriage this guy remodeled this saying he had the same problem but my problems didn’t really change I’m definitely gonna have to do some work on that I was gonna give that one away to my friend but I don’t even I gotta fix it before him and give it to him cuz I feel bad giving it to him so this printer it’s all metal construction everything it would compute to colors it was really cool but after a month it just crapped out on me and I cannot figure it out it’s in the nozzle it uses this a crazy giant giant nozzle you can see there’s a huge mess of stuff on there let me zoom in oh yeah it’s huge it’s like five hundred times the size of a regular nozzle so I need to know how you replace that I don’t know what the inside of the hot end is like they both feed in there in this fan on it is so loud I got if I was gonna keep that I would replace those fans yeah it printed great for like a month and then it just started clogging all the time I don’t know if he just they got buildup in there I was trying to you know I’ve taken good care of it I don’t really know but okay so these are all the printers I have in there I have one more printer that doesn’t fit it’s not that big I just didn’t have any more room on the table so let me go grab that and I’ll show you that and then we can wrap this up okay guys this is the zone star z5 and you have never seen this on my channel that is because I refused to review this one it was so bad it had so many problems right out the box that I didn’t review it and I just salvaged different parts that’s why not everything is here but it is basically absolutely horrendous I have never checked out any other zone star products but I do not want to this was a nightmare to put together it was supposed to be a fast assembly but that’s not even it there was two broken end stops off the box so I had replacement stuff so I replaced them then after replacing I might notice the why and stop the bed can go so far back that it will be printing in midair like you won’t even you know I mean like it’ll be way off here so I had to mod it to pull it forward and it still didn’t work okay so then after I finally got everything set up I replaced it with a bunch of my own parts I turned it on and then it blew a thermistor and I’m like what the heck like right away so I replaced that then it blew another thermistor and then I just said you know what I’m done with this thing this thing is a piece of garbage I replaced four parts had to mod one and it in like okay and then this spooled or you can’t even fit a normal spool of film and I look how then this is like it you cannot put a spool of filament on there so I don’t even know what the point of having that is but yeah it was just terrible we had Auto level sensor so I thought that was cool but I never even got to use it I literally did not I I played with this thing for two days never even got one print off of it so just so you guys know if I get anything I recommend it’s because I recommend it if I don’t like something I’d rather just not even make the review then make a article trashing it so just so you know don’t you know if I say something’s good I’m not lying you guys I will not redo a review on something I do not like so this has been all my printers so let’s go inside I’ll give you a little conclusion of what I think and yeah okay guys so in conclusion which ones these are my favorite which ones I like the best okay so as far as partition style printers have to put any adhesive on there or anything um I do think this printer is awesome because unlike the CR 10 how I got the control box to the side and everything everything’s right in here it’s just one solid printer like you could just you could like literally pick it up while it’s printing and it wouldn’t really affect the print now let me show you one of the coolest things about this only turned on okay so you’ll notice a little loud just that one fan but you’ll notice it’s full colored touchscreen I think like literally everything like all printers should have this um I think you know just your standard Marlin you know turn knob just the blue screen it’s really getting old I think it’s 21st century everything should use this this also just like the CR 10 it’s got you can auto resume for after power loss it’s got a filament run-out sensor over here and then I love how like the filaments tucked away like from the front you can’t even see it I’ll also to like I like how it’s all like you know from the back you can’t really you can see it but you can I got a big mess of ABS that got stuck on a film print and I didn’t fix it so ignore that but I like how like you can’t really see the nozzle and everything um this printer though this is probably the best deal in 3d printer right now cuz I think now it’s on sale for like 319 or something and it’s based you’re basically giving a CR 10 that can print ABS the build volume in the z-axis isn’t as high it’s 100 millimeters shorter so you won’t be able print as high stuff but it’s just as big on the X and the y so it’s like 305 by 305 by 300 I think so that’s pretty big okay now one printer that is very similar to this one sorry this is very dirty it was a my garage and it got really dirty I have been using this on a lot those is one of my most used printer this is my any cubic I three mega now this printer it’s it’s honestly it’s like a smaller one of these I think this one came out first I’m not quite sure but basically both these printers you can put them together in five minutes so that is just hands-down freaking awesome but besides that the any cubic I three mega also has the touchscreen the colors aren’t as vivid as the touchscreen on there and also has the filament run-out sensor power on/off and everything I can also print ABS and all those different materials also has this awesome ultra base yeah I think this printer if you don’t need a big printer it’s like what is still pretty big it’s bigger than like your standard like a net eight or a six or anything but if you don’t need like a giant printer this might be the printer to get and I’ve personally dealt with any cubic two different times and both times they were like the best customer service ever so my ultra base my first time I got it came messed up they sent me a brand new or no-questions-asked had it shipped out that day so that is pretty awesome I mean now let’s go here to the back and we got the TiVo michelangelo’s a small little little printer it’s also a very cheap printer one thing about it is it comes basically a 100 percent of samples like you don’t have to do anything you just plug it in it prints actually quite well the only downside is there’s no heated bed I heard they are remodeling it with a heated bed I don’t know if that’s gonna up the price because this printer is just over a hundred dollars if you want something small that doesn’t take up a lot of space and just want it really easy to set up foam your newb this might be a printer for you it doesn’t have a huge build volume but it’s big enough to print you know you’re just you’re right unless you’re not printing something like a face you know you’re gonna be okay I mean it’s still pretty decent-sized it’s just nothing crazy okay next we got maybe the best 3d printer they came out last year I don’t know we got the TiVo tornado now I think the CR 10 was just killing everybody and then a bunch of clones came out of the shower time like that Ian at E 12 a 90/10 the Tron see whatever X 3 or whatever X 5 or whatever it’s called but then this printer came out and they’re like you know they got all the same design same size but they did some changes and I really really really like what they did here they added a AC heating module for the bed so the bed can literally heat up in minutes – like ABS temperatures this printer isn’t the best of printing abs if you enclose it it is but I’ve had some problems I can print ABS on it but sometimes the parts will warp especially if it’s a big print if it’s a small print it’s usually okay but yeah just cuz it’s so big also – if you have it in a hot room that’ll help but this printer is just awesome I love this TiVo Titan extruder this is by far my favorite extruder and they sent a dexter one I haven’t had to use it but it’s all very similar to the CR ten one thing I don’t like about is it does not come with a spool holder so it comes with like an STL file or AG code so you can just print one but they they should have already had that printed for you but yeah I don’t know it just prints I can burn really fast on this notes – like the CR 10 I try not to get it above 60 millimeters a second this one I can easily print at like 70 sometimes 80 if it’s not that complex you know of a design but our sorry of a model but yeah it prints great great quality I’d say just as good quality as the CR 10 I did have some salmon skin effects I think on all the new models so if you’re by now you you won’t have that I think they’d use a different board now but I had to add some TL smoothers they were very cheap but I had to add them to the box so that’s why my control box is open here so maybe I can just show it to you I never put the screws back on but um yeah that’s what come on sorry trying to do this with one hand so those are the TL smothers so they’re very easy they just plug right in so I added those and it eliminated the salmon skin and yeah it just prints beautifully okay so we got two more two printers on the table here this one this one I really like this is the any cubic linear plus I just recently did a review on this it’s got this awesome auto bed level probe so you put this on it’s just a magnet this is it sticks right on whoops right there and then it probes you know but I’m gonna be like beep beep beep it does like 39 spots and then you know then you hit store on the member here it stores it in and then when you go to print it knows where everything is it works perfect and I love this build platform it does have a heated bed and this comes almost all the way assembled I also really like how this ball holder is just on the metal frame right there the power supply you know it’s nice and safe has the on/off switch yeah I just really really really like this one okay so next time we’re gonna go let’s move this one a little okay we got the robot Bonnie couple okay now let me tell you when I first got this printer I thought it was the bee’s knees I was like this thing is so friggin awesome you can print dot two different colors you can mix colors after having it for a month the thing doesn’t work anymore it still turns on and everything but it jams every time I try to print two colors I even changed this whole carriage this guy remodeled this saying he had the same problem but my problems didn’t really change I’m definitely gonna have to do some work on that I was gonna give that one away to my friend but I don’t even I gotta fix it before him and give it to him cuz I feel bad giving it to him so this printer it’s all metal construction everything it would compute to colors it was really cool but after a month it just crapped out on me and I cannot figure it out it’s in the nozzle it uses this a crazy giant giant nozzle you can see there’s a huge mess of stuff on there let me zoom in oh yeah it’s huge it’s like five hundred times the size of a regular nozzle so I need to know how you replace that I don’t know what the inside of the hot end is like they both feed in there in this fan on it is so loud I got if I was gonna keep that I would replace those fans yeah it printed great for like a month and then it just started clogging all the time I don’t know if he just they got buildup in there I was trying to you know I’ve taken good care of it I don’t really know but okay so these are all the printers I have in there I have one more printer that doesn’t fit it’s not that big I just didn’t have any more room on the table so let me go grab that and I’ll show you that and then we can wrap this up okay guys this is the zone star z5 and you have never seen this on my channel that is because I refused to review this one it was so bad it had so many problems right out the box that I didn’t review it and I just salvaged different parts that’s why not everything is here but it is basically absolutely horrendous I have never checked out any other zone star products but I do not want to this was a nightmare to put together it was supposed to be a fast assembly but that’s not even it there was two broken end stops off the box so I had replacement stuff so I replaced them then after replacing I might notice the why and stop the bed can go so far back that it will be printing in midair like you won’t even you know I mean like it’ll be way off here so I had to mod it to pull it forward and it still didn’t work okay so then after I finally got everything set up I replaced it with a bunch of my own parts I turned it on and then it blew a thermistor and I’m like what the heck like right away so I replaced that then it blew another thermistor and then I just said you know what I’m done with this thing this thing is a piece of garbage I replaced four parts had to mod one and it in like okay and then this spooled or you can’t even fit a normal spool of film and I look how then this is like it you cannot put a spool of filament on there so I don’t even know what the point of having that is but yeah it was just terrible we had Auto level sensor so I thought that was cool but I never even got to use it I literally did not I I played with this thing for two days never even got one print off of it so just so you guys know if I get anything I recommend it’s because I recommend it if I don’t like something I’d rather just not even make the review then make a article trashing it so just so you know don’t you know if I say something’s good I’m not lying you guys I will not redo a review on something I do not like so this has been all my printers so let’s go inside I’ll give you a little conclusion of what I think and yeah okay guys so in conclusion which ones these are my favorite which ones I like the best okay so as far as partition style printers go my favourite smaller one is actually the any cubic ie three mega this is probably my most used on the joint it’s filled with just dirty as hell I use it all the time and you can print basically every type of material if anything goes wrong any cubics got great customer service but yeah sometimes it’s just not big enough for the job so sometimes I need something like my CHF back there or my JJ or or a five so the ginger I’ve only had this for like a month the CR ten I’ve had much longer Sanatana can honestly say is super reliable they have the best community ever then more people have the CR ken basically than any other printer so if one thing that really matters to you is being able to get support ask people for help if you’re totally new the CR ten is great the regulars here ten is pretty cheap it’s it’s well not cheap but it’s not as expensive as this one this one’s like 450 he’s still 300 to 350 or so for the regular one but honestly if you’re not gonna be printing huge all the time and you only have that much s but I would get the JJ Aurora because the JJ Aurora is on sale right now for only 319 and you can go almost as big as that and print every material and I honestly like this build platform better doesn’t have as big of a community behind it but I haven’t had to do anything like I literally have not done a single modification since I got this um CR ten though I see you cannot go wrong you lizard these are two of my favorite printers ever but the teamwork tornado also like all three of these are so close the team Oh tornado though I can turn it on and it’s all ready to go boom just like that the Tibor tornado if you get the newer one which if you ordered now yeah if you’re good don’t get one used um I would recommend getting one of the new ones I’ve gearbest if you’re gonna get one because you just affect the bedsheets up so fast and everything is so awesome Tibo also has great customer service they’re one of the only printers that comes with an actual instruction booklet this one’s also quite cheap right now it’s just a little over three hundred they take 325 or 350 of the most but it’s really cheap like when this first came out it was it was more than that as far as Delta printers go I’m gonna say anything from any cubic any cubic kills it if you don’t know how to money for the castle linear plus over there just get the regular castle I did a review on that too it in the past I gave that one to my brother but that printer is awesome and both any cubic they like no matter what you get they have awesome customer service the regular Castle much cheaper this one can do bigger stuff it can do more stuff it’s got a better power supply it can do different types of materials like abs and stuff where your regular one doesn’t have a heated bed and you can’t so if you’re only one we’ve got a budget you like building stuff I get the regular any cubic Castle but if you got extra money definitely get the lay meter plus back here we got the team of Michelangelo that think’s pretty nice but we got I’ve heard that the end or two it has heated bed so I think I’d rather get that but if you’re on a budget that one’s a little cheaper telling like 109 dollars but yeah overall I think your best bets are if you want something smaller get the any cubic I drew mega if you want something bigger and you got the money to spend and you don’t care about printing abs and stuff get the CR ten because having that big community really helps it means a lot but if you want to print all different materials get the JJ Aurora or the T book tornado hey JJ Turner though I have had more success printing abs and stuff the T Bo you can do it but it can be a little finicky so this is probably my sleeper I did not when I got this printer I didn’t know what to think of it and I’ve been blown away by this touchscreen too as well as the i3 is just killer but I love how this is all color and it just looks cool so yeah I could recommend any of these except the Thor BOTS and the zone star z5 don’t get either of those but any of these these are all good printers I’ll put links to all of them but yeah these are like my four favorite is Whats up all, so today I was really excited because I’m gonna go through and take ten of my 3d printers compare them all tell you which ones I liked which was I don’t like what I like about them what the differences are what might suit your needs and yeah we’re just gonna go through all them so I currently have ten FDM printers and one DLP resin printer so I’m gonna go through all the FDM printers today and there’s a huge 3-d printer sale going on in gearbest so if you want to check out any of these there’ll be a link in the description where you can check out each one I’ll also put just a link to their overall sale page and yeah basically all the 3d printers are on sale right now so if you’re you know trying to figure out which one to buy this might be a good article for you so let’s go inside cuz I didn’t have enough room out here and I got all the 3d printers on the table and let’s go check it out okay guys so check it out I got nine different printers here let me get a higher angle so you can maybe see this better um let’s start off let me just go through and tell you what I got here on the table let’s start here this is a CR 10 s I got an a net a for Delta an FL Sun Delta in the back there I got a TiVo Michaelangelo jg r or a 5 any cubic I three mega TiVo tornado Thor bot buddy couple dual extrusion printer and the any cubic linear plus Delta okay so we’ll start it back here at the CR 10 and we’ll just work our way to the left here now this is the CR 10s I previously had the regular CR 10 and I gave that to my dad for Christmas I’ve also had several clones of the CR 10 like you know like the team or trader over there but I’ve had the trunk see what is it the x3 I think it’s called I also had the a net e 10 and the a net e 12 both of them I don’t currently have but they’re all very good machines but the CR 10 out of all the this and the TiVo definitely do it the best that’s why I kept this one the regular CR 10 is great especially if you’re trying to save a little money you do get extra features on this one so the extra features you get with the S model is you get a filament run-out sensor you get a power resume so like if I accidentally unplug it or if after that you know if the power goes out or something I can just restart it also too we get dual z-axis work threaded rods and motors so it’s a little more stable but it basically the print quality is basically the same you get very very very good print quality on the CR 10 and how I’m gonna say how good everything prints is I’m gonna compare it to the C okay I feel like the CR 10 right now is kind of like the benchmark so this is something I printed on the CRC our 10 its Yoda benches and pretty cool he’s like Yoda group Benji yeah really really bizarre well you know I said printed printing this really good I didn’t do any clean up after like it’s still a little you know burrs on it and stuff cuz I haven’t ripped off the brim either this literally got done printing 10 minutes ago before I started reporting all the printers on the table okay so the things that logo out the CR 10 first off it can print huge it’s got you know a huge build volume it prints great quality obviously things I don’t like though is you can’t really print abs unless you mod it there the bed does not like to get hot enough and the extruder can but the bed just does not really get over like 70 degrees it’s quite hard to get it over 70 degrees but and I also don’t like how it takes up so much room on the table but that’s good is it you know it’s a big printer so I guess it’s kind of a trade-off but it is very good it’s very stable you don’t really have to do any tweaks once you get it up and running good you just keep it the same like I haven’t had to have retighten the belts I haven’t you basically just level the bed if you move the printer if you don’t move it it doesn’t really go out of whack okay so this one though is like 450 ish with the sale price so it is a little pricier but you’re getting probably the biggest community to behind the printer okay so let’s move onto the next one okay so next we got the a net a for Delta okay now this one comes almost all the way assembled I think it took me a little over an hour and I’ve done reviews on all these if you want to look further into them but this printer I really like it actually it printed really good right out of the box here’s something I printed on it I mean not perfect but not bad and yeah I mean I like how the spool holder too is just like right on top that’s already good to go um I was I’m normally not the biggest fan of a net but I like this one I like this more than the a nut e 12 and the a nut e 10 both of which I’ve had in the past but I don’t have currently um I do not like how it’s just these push buttons oh I prefer the the old knob and stuff like most the printers have but other than that it’s actually surprisingly good quality it’s got belt tensioners already on it you don’t have to print off any parts basically it basically done no modifications to it and it’s printing pretty decent okay next we got another Delta in the back here this one is cheaper it’s definitely way harder to make like this one took me maybe 10 to 12 hours to put together but there is some cool features on this like it has bring this up a bit bear with me here I need to stuff around okay it has an auto level so like you can hear that click so it probes the bed and you know the auto levels you just type in g29 to the start code and based on that is really nice because it’s a very cheap printer that you don’t have I think it’s like a hundred and seventy bucks normally or with sale or whatever that’s very cheap printer there’s also some pretty high quality parks like all these plastic parts are all injection molded there’s not really any printed parts on it I I added a heated bed so it did not come with a heated bed they do also sell a heated bed version but stock one does not that one is a kind of a pain to put together but other than that that’s a pretty good printer it’s got pretty good quality on a bed level so it was a plus the wire management is a little crazy like the wires are just like hanging everywhere which I don’t like but other than that you can’t really not get the prints really good next we got this one here this is the jg Aurora a5 now this is one of my new favorite printers I’ve only had this not that long but man I think I like this maybe more doesn’t see our time honestly it prints just as good the quality except this one I can print ABS I can print nylon and I for any high temp material it prints great it got basically this is basically like the same thing as the any cubic ultrabass like you see here on the i3 mega mom so it you know you don’t JJ or or a five so the ginger I’ve only had this for like a month the CR ten I’ve had much longer Sanatana can honestly say is super reliable they have the best community ever then more people have the CR ken basically than any other printer so if one thing that really matters to you is being able to get support ask people for help if you’re totally new the CR ten is great the regulars here ten is pretty cheap it’s it’s well not cheap but it’s not as expensive as this one this one’s like 450 he’s still 300 to 350 or so for the regular one but honestly if you’re not gonna be printing huge all the time and you only have that much s but I would get the JJ Aurora because the JJ Aurora is on sale right now for only 319 and you can go almost as big as that and print every material and I honestly like this build platform better doesn’t have as big of a community behind it but I haven’t had to do anything like I literally have not done a single modification since I got this um CR ten though I see you cannot go wrong you lizard these are two of my favorite printers ever but the teamwork tornado also like all three of these are so close the team Oh tornado though I can turn it on and it’s all ready to go boom just like that the Tibor tornado if you get the newer one which if you ordered now yeah if you’re good don’t get one used um I would recommend getting one of the new ones I’ve gearbest if you’re gonna get one because you just affect the bedsheets up so fast and everything is so awesome Tibo also has great customer service they’re one of the only printers that comes with an actual instruction booklet this one’s also quite cheap right now it’s just a little over three hundred they take 325 or 350 of the most but it’s really cheap like when this first came out it was it was more than that as far as Delta printers go I’m gonna say anything from any cubic any cubic kills it if you don’t know how to money for the castle linear plus over there just get the regular castle I did a review on that too it in the past I gave that one to my brother but that printer is awesome and both any cubic they like no matter what you get they have awesome customer service the regular Castle much cheaper this one can do bigger stuff it can do more stuff it’s got a better power supply it can do different types of materials like abs and stuff where your regular one doesn’t have a heated bed and you can’t so if you’re only one we’ve got a budget you like building stuff I get the regular any cubic Castle but if you got extra money definitely get the lay meter plus back here we got the team of Michelangelo that think’s pretty nice but we got I’ve heard that the end or two it has heated bed so I think I’d rather get that but if you’re on a budget that one’s a little cheaper telling like 109 dollars but yeah overall I think your best bets are if you want something smaller get the any cubic I drew mega if you want something bigger and you got the money to spend and you don’t care about printing abs and stuff get the CR ten because having that big community really helps it means a lot but if you want to print all different materials get the JJ Aurora or the T book tornado hey JJ Turner though I have had more success printing abs and stuff the T Bo you can do it but it can be a little finicky so this is probably my sleeper I did not when I got this printer I didn’t know what to think of it and I’ve been blown away by this touchscreen too as well as the i3 is just killer but I love how this is all color and it just looks cool so yeah I could recommend any of these except the Thor BOTS and the zone star z5 don’t get either of those but any of these these are all good printers I’ll put links to all of them but yeah these are like my four favorite is Whats up all, so today I was really excited because I’m gonna go through and take ten of my 3d printers compare them all tell you which ones I liked which was I don’t like what I like about them what the differences are what might suit your needs and yeah we’re just gonna go through all them so I currently have ten FDM printers and one DLP resin printer so I’m gonna go through all the FDM printers today and there’s a huge 3-d printer sale going on in gearbest so if you want to check out any of these there’ll be a link in the description where you can check out each one I’ll also put just a link to their overall sale page and yeah basically all the 3d printers are on sale right now so if you’re you know trying to figure out which one to buy this might be a good article for you so let’s go inside cuz I didn’t have enough room out here and I got all the 3d printers on the table and let’s go check it out okay guys so check it out I got nine different printers here let me get a higher angle so you can maybe see this better um let’s start off let me just go through and tell you what I got here on the table let’s start here this is a CR 10 s I got an a net a for Delta an FL Sun Delta in the back there I got a TiVo Michaelangelo jg r or a 5 any cubic I three mega TiVo tornado Thor bot buddy couple dual extrusion printer and the any cubic linear plus Delta okay so we’ll start it back here at the CR 10 and we’ll just work our way to the left here now this is the CR 10s I previously had the regular CR 10 and I gave that to my dad for Christmas I’ve also had several clones of the CR 10 like you know like the team or trader over there but I’ve had the trunk see what is it the x3 I think it’s called I also had the a net e 10 and the a net e 12 both of them I don’t currently have but they’re all very good machines but the CR 10 out of all the this and the TiVo definitely do it the best that’s why I kept this one the regular CR 10 is great especially if you’re trying to save a little money you do get extra features on this one so the extra features you get with the S model is you get a filament run-out sensor you get a power resume so like if I accidentally unplug it or if after that you know if the power goes out or something I can just restart it also too we get dual z-axis work threaded rods and motors so it’s a little more stable but it basically the print quality is basically the same you get very very very good print quality on the CR 10 and how I’m gonna say how good everything prints is I’m gonna compare it to the C okay I feel like the CR 10 right now is kind of like the benchmark so this is something I printed on the CRC our 10 its Yoda benches and pretty cool he’s like Yoda group Benji yeah really really bizarre well you know I said printed printing this really good I didn’t do any clean up after like it’s still a little you know burrs on it and stuff cuz I haven’t ripped off the brim either this literally got done printing 10 minutes ago before I started reporting all the printers on the table okay so the things that logo out the CR 10 first off it can print huge it’s got you know a huge build volume it prints great quality obviously things I don’t like though is you can’t really print abs unless you mod it there the bed does not like to get hot enough and the extruder can but the bed just does not really get over like 70 degrees it’s quite hard to get it over 70 degrees but and I also don’t like how it takes up so much room on the table but that’s good is it you know it’s a big printer so I guess it’s kind of a trade-off but it is very good it’s very stable you don’t really have to do any tweaks once you get it up and running good you just keep it the same like I haven’t had to have retighten the belts I haven’t you basically just level the bed if you move the printer if you don’t move it it doesn’t really go out of whack okay so this one though is like 450 ish with the sale price so it is a little pricier but you’re getting probably the biggest community to behind the printer okay so let’s move onto the next one okay so next we got the a net a for Delta okay now this one comes almost all the way assembled I think it took me a little over an hour and I’ve done reviews on all these if you want to look further into them but this printer I really like it actually it printed really good right out of the box here’s something I printed on it I mean not perfect but not bad and yeah I mean I like how the spool holder too is just like right on top that’s already good to go um I was I’m normally not the biggest fan of a net but I like this one I like this more than the a nut e 12 and the a nut e 10 both of which I’ve had in the past but I don’t have currently um I do not like how it’s just these push buttons oh I prefer the the old knob and stuff like most the printers have but other than that it’s actually surprisingly good quality it’s got belt tensioners already on it you don’t have to print off any parts basically it basically done no modifications to it and it’s printing pretty decent okay next we got another Delta in the back here this one is cheaper it’s definitely way harder to make like this one took me maybe 10 to 12 hours to put together but there is some cool features on this like it has bring this up a bit bear with me here I need to stuff around okay it has an auto level so like you can hear that click so it probes the bed and you know the auto levels you just type in g29 to the start code and based on that is really nice because it’s a very cheap printer that you don’t have I think it’s like a hundred and seventy bucks normally or with sale or whatever that’s very cheap printer there’s also some pretty high quality parks like all these plastic parts are all injection molded there’s not really any printed parts on it I I added a heated bed so it did not come with a heated bed they do also sell a heated bed version but stock one does not that one is a kind of a pain to put together but other than that that’s a pretty good printer it’s got pretty good quality on a bed level so it was a plus the wire management is a little crazy like the wires are just like hanging everywhere which I don’t like but other than that you can’t really not get the prints really good next we got this one here this is the jg Aurora a5 now this is one of my new favorite printers I’ve only had this not that long but man I think I like this maybe more doesn’t see our time honestly it prints just as good the quality except this one I can print ABS I can print nylon and I for any high temp material it prints great it got basically this is basically like the same thing as the any cubic ultrabass like you see here on the i3 mega mom so it you know you don’t have to put any adhesive on there or anything um I do think this printer is awesome because unlike the CR 10 how I got the control box to the side and everything everything’s right in here it’s just one solid printer like you could just you could like literally pick it up while it’s printing and it wouldn’t really affect the print now let me show you one of the coolest things about this only turned on okay so you’ll notice a little loud just that one fan but you’ll notice it’s full colored touchscreen I think like literally everything like all printers should have this um I think you know just your standard Marlin you know turn knob just the blue screen it’s really getting old I think it’s 21st century everything should use this this also just like the CR 10 it’s got you can auto resume for after power loss it’s got a filament run-out sensor over here and then I love how like the filaments tucked away like from the front you can’t even see it I’ll also to like I like how it’s all like you know from the back you can’t really you can see it but you can I got a big mess of ABS that got stuck on a film print and I didn’t fix it so ignore that but I like how like you can’t really see the nozzle and everything um this printer though this is probably the best deal in 3d printer right now cuz I think now it’s on sale for like 319 or something and it’s based you’re basically giving a CR 10 that can print ABS the build volume in the z-axis isn’t as high it’s 100 millimeters shorter so you won’t be able print as high stuff but it’s just as big on the X and the y so it’s like 305 by 305 by 300 I think so that’s pretty big okay now one printer that is very similar to this one sorry this is very dirty it was a my garage and it got really dirty I have been using this on a lot those is one of my most used printer this is my any cubic I three mega now this printer it’s it’s honestly it’s like a smaller one of these I think this one came out first I’m not quite sure but basically both these printers you can put them together in five minutes so that is just hands-down freaking awesome but besides that the any cubic I three mega also has the touchscreen the colors aren’t as vivid as the touchscreen on there and also has the filament run-out sensor power on/off and everything I can also print ABS and all those different materials also has this awesome ultra base yeah I think this printer if you don’t need a big printer it’s like what is still pretty big it’s bigger than like your standard like a net eight or a six or anything but if you don’t need like a giant printer this might be the printer to get and I’ve personally dealt with any cubic two different times and both times they were like the best customer service ever so my ultra base my first time I got it came messed up they sent me a brand new or no-questions-asked had it shipped out that day so that is pretty awesome I mean now let’s go here to the back and we got the TiVo michelangelo’s a small little little printer it’s also a very cheap printer one thing about it is it comes basically a 100 percent of samples like you don’t have to do anything you just plug it in it prints actually quite well the only downside is there’s no heated bed I heard they are remodeling it with a heated bed I don’t know if that’s gonna up the price because this printer is just over a hundred dollars if you want something small that doesn’t take up a lot of space and just want it really easy to set up foam your newb this might be a printer for you it doesn’t have a huge build volume but it’s big enough to print you know you’re just you’re right unless you’re not printing something like a face you know you’re gonna be okay I mean it’s still pretty decent-sized it’s just nothing crazy okay next we got maybe the best 3d printer they came out last year I don’t know we got the TiVo tornado now I think the CR 10 was just killing everybody and then a bunch of clones came out of the shower time like that Ian at E 12 a 90/10 the Tron see whatever X 3 or whatever X 5 or whatever it’s called but then this printer came out and they’re like you know they got all the same design same size but they did some changes and I really really really like what they did here they added a AC heating module for the bed so the bed can literally heat up in minutes – like ABS temperatures this printer isn’t the best of printing abs if you enclose it it is but I’ve had some problems I can print ABS on it but sometimes the parts will warp especially if it’s a big print if it’s a small print it’s usually okay but yeah just cuz it’s so big also – if you have it in a hot room that’ll help but this printer is just awesome I love this TiVo Titan extruder this is by far my favorite extruder and they sent a dexter one I haven’t had to use it but it’s all very similar to the CR ten one thing I don’t like about is it does not come with a spool holder so it comes with like an STL file or AG code so you can just print one but they they should have already had that printed for you but yeah I don’t know it just prints I can burn really fast on this notes – like the CR 10 I try not to get it above 60 millimeters a second this one I can easily print at like 70 sometimes 80 if it’s not that complex you know of a design but our sorry of a model but yeah it prints great great quality I’d say just as good quality as the CR 10 I did have some salmon skin effects I think on all the new models so if you’re by now you you won’t have that I think they’d use a different board now but I had to add some TL smoothers they were very cheap but I had to add them to the box so that’s why my control box is open here so maybe I can just show it to you I never put the screws back on but um yeah that’s what come on sorry trying to do this with one hand so those are the TL smothers so they’re very easy they just plug right in so I added those and it eliminated the salmon skin and yeah it just prints beautifully okay so we got two more two printers on the table here this one this one I really like this is the any cubic linear plus I just recently did a review on this it’s got this awesome auto bed level probe so you put this on it’s just a magnet this is it sticks right on whoops right there and then it probes you know but I’m gonna be like beep beep beep it does like 39 spots and then you know then you hit store on the member here it stores it in and then when you go to print it knows where everything is it works perfect and I love this build platform it does have a heated bed and this comes almost all the way assembled I also really like how this ball holder is just on the metal frame right there the power supply you know it’s nice and safe has the on/off switch yeah I just really really really like this one okay so next time we’re gonna go let’s move this one a little okay we got the robot Bonnie couple okay now let me tell you when I first got this printer I thought it was the bee’s knees I was like this thing is so friggin awesome you can print dot two different colors you can mix colors after having it for a month the thing doesn’t work anymore it still turns on and everything but it jams every time I try to print two colors I even changed this whole carriage this guy remodeled this saying he had the same problem but my problems didn’t really change I’m definitely gonna have to do some work on that I was gonna give that one away to my friend but I don’t even I gotta fix it before him and give it to him cuz I feel bad giving it to him so this printer it’s all metal construction everything it would compute to colors it was really cool but after a month it just crapped out on me and I cannot figure it out it’s in the nozzle it uses this a crazy giant giant nozzle you can see there’s a huge mess of stuff on there let me zoom in oh yeah it’s huge it’s like five hundred times the size of a regular nozzle so I need to know how you replace that I don’t know what the inside of the hot end is like they both feed in there in this fan on it is so loud I got if I was gonna keep that I would replace those fans yeah it printed great for like a month and then it just started clogging all the time I don’t know if he just they got buildup in there I was trying to you know I’ve taken good care of it I don’t really know but okay so these are all the printers I have in there I have one more printer that doesn’t fit it’s not that big I just didn’t have any more room on the table so let me go grab that and I’ll show you that and then we can wrap this up okay guys this is the zone star z5 and you have never seen this on my channel that is because I refused to review this one it was so bad it had so many problems right out the box that I didn’t review it and I just salvaged different parts that’s why not everything is here but it is basically absolutely horrendous I have never checked out any other zone star products but I do not want to this was a nightmare to put together it was supposed to be a fast assembly but that’s not even it there was two broken end stops off the box so I had replacement stuff so I replaced them then after replacing I might notice the why and stop the bed can go so far back that it will be printing in midair like you won’t even you know I mean like it’ll be way off here so I had to mod it to pull it forward and it still didn’t work okay so then after I finally got everything set up I replaced it with a bunch of my own parts I turned it on and then it blew a thermistor and I’m like what the heck like right away so I replaced that then it blew another thermistor and then I just said you know what I’m done with this thing this thing is a piece of garbage I replaced four parts had to mod one and it in like okay and then this spooled or you can’t even fit a normal spool of film and I look how then this is like it you cannot put a spool of filament on there so I don’t even know what the point of having that is but yeah it was just terrible we had Auto level sensor so I thought that was cool but I never even got to use it I literally did not I I played with this thing for two days never even got one print off of it so just so you guys know if I get anything I recommend it’s because I recommend it if I don’t like something I’d rather just not even make the review then make a article trashing it so just so you know don’t you know if I say something’s good I’m not lying you guys I will not redo a review on something I do not like so this has been all my printers so let’s go inside I’ll give you a little conclusion of what I think and yeah okay guys so in conclusion which ones these are my favorite which ones I like the best okay so as far as partition style printers go my favourite smaller one is actually the any cubic ie three mega this is probably my most used on the joint it’s filled with just dirty as hell I use it all the time and you can print basically favorite printers I’ve only had this not that long but man I think I like this maybe more doesn’t see our time honestly it prints just as good the quality except this one I can print ABS I can print nylon and I for any high temp material it prints great it got basically this is basically like the same thing as the any cubic ultrabass like you see here on the i3 mega mom so it you know you don’t have to put any adhesive on there or anything um I do think this printer is awesome because unlike the CR 10 how I got the control box to the side and everything everything’s right in here it’s just one solid printer like you could just you could like literally pick it up while it’s printing and it wouldn’t really affect the print now let me show you one of the coolest things about this only turned on okay so you’ll notice a little loud just that one fan but you’ll notice it’s full colored touchscreen I think like literally everything like all printers should have this um I think you know just your standard Marlin you know turn knob just the blue screen it’s really getting old I think it’s 21st century everything should use this this also just like the CR 10 it’s got you can auto resume for after power loss it’s got a filament run-out sensor over here and then I love how like the filaments tucked away like from the front you can’t even see it I’ll also to like I like how it’s all like you know from the back you can’t really you can see it but you can I got a big mess of ABS that got stuck on a film print and I didn’t fix it so ignore that but I like how like you can’t really see the nozzle and everything um this printer though this is probably the best deal in 3d printer right now cuz I think now it’s on sale for like 319 or something and it’s based you’re basically giving a CR 10 that can print ABS the build volume in the z-axis isn’t as high it’s 100 millimeters shorter so you won’t be able print as high stuff but it’s just as big on the X and the y so it’s like 305 by 305 by 300 I think so that’s pretty big okay now one printer that is very similar to this one sorry this is very dirty it was a my garage and it got really dirty I have been using this on a lot those is one of my most used printer this is my any cubic I three mega now this printer it’s it’s honestly it’s like a smaller one of these I think this one came out first I’m not quite sure but basically both these printers you can put them together in five minutes so that is just hands-down freaking awesome but besides that the any cubic I three mega also has the touchscreen the colors aren’t as vivid as the touchscreen on there and also has the filament run-out sensor power on/off and everything I can also print ABS and all those different materials also has this awesome ultra base yeah I think this printer if you don’t need a big printer it’s like what is still pretty big it’s bigger than like your standard like a net eight or a six or anything but if you don’t need like a giant printer this might be the printer to get and I’ve personally dealt with any cubic two different times and both times they were like the best customer service ever so my ultra base my first time I got it came messed up they sent me a brand new or no-questions-asked had it shipped out that day so that is pretty awesome I mean now let’s go here to the back and we got the TiVo michelangelo’s a small little little printer it’s also a very cheap printer one thing about it is it comes basically a 100 percent of samples like you don’t have to do anything you just plug it in it prints actually quite well the only downside is there’s no heated bed I heard they are remodeling it with a heated bed I don’t know if that’s gonna up the price because this printer is just over a hundred dollars if you want something small that doesn’t take up a lot of space and just want it really easy to set up foam your newb this might be a printer for you it doesn’t have a huge build volume but it’s big enough to print you know you’re just you’re right unless you’re not printing something like a face you know you’re gonna be okay I mean it’s still pretty decent-sized it’s just nothing crazy okay next we got maybe the best 3d printer they came out last year I don’t know we got the TiVo tornado now I think the CR 10 was just killing everybody and then a bunch of clones came out of the shower time like that Ian at E 12 a 90/10 the Tron see whatever X 3 or whatever X 5 or whatever it’s called but then this printer came out and they’re like you know they got all the same design same size but they did some changes and I really really really like what they did here they added a AC heating module for the bed so the bed can literally heat up in minutes – like ABS temperatures this printer isn’t the best of printing abs if you enclose it it is but I’ve had some problems I can print ABS on it but sometimes the parts will warp especially if it’s a big print if it’s a small print it’s usually okay but yeah just cuz it’s so big also – if you have it in a hot room that’ll help but this printer is just awesome I love this TiVo Titan extruder this is by far my favorite extruder and they sent a dexter one I haven’t had to use it but it’s all very similar to the CR ten one thing I don’t like about is it does not come with a spool holder so it comes with like an STL file or AG code so you can just print one but they they should have already had that printed for you but yeah I don’t know it just prints I can burn really fast on this notes – like the CR 10 I try not to get it above 60 millimeters a second this one I can easily print at like 70 sometimes 80 if it’s not that complex you know of a design but our sorry of a model but yeah it prints great great quality I’d say just as good quality as the CR 10 I did have some salmon skin effects I think on all the new models so if you’re by now you you won’t have that I think they’d use a different board now but I had to add some TL smoothers they were very cheap but I had to add them to the box so that’s why my control box is open here so maybe I can just show it to you I never put the screws back on but um yeah that’s what come on sorry trying to do this with one hand so those are the TL smothers so they’re very easy they just plug right in so I added those and it eliminated the salmon skin and yeah it just prints beautifully okay so we got two more two printers on the table here this one this one I really like this is the any cubic linear plus I just recently did a review on this it’s got this awesome auto bed level probe so you put this on it’s just a magnet this is it sticks right on whoops right there and then it probes you know but I’m gonna be like beep beep beep it does like 39 spots and then you know then you hit store on the member here it stores it in and then when you go to print it knows where everything is it works perfect and I love this build platform it does have a heated bed and this comes almost all the way assembled I also really like how this ball holder is just on the metal frame right there the power supply you know it’s nice and safe has the on/off switch yeah I just really really really like this one okay so next time we’re gonna go let’s move this one a little okay we got the robot Bonnie couple okay now let me tell you when I first got this printer I thought it was the bee’s knees I was like this thing is so friggin awesome you can print dot two different colors you can mix colors after having it for a month the thing doesn’t work anymore it still turns on and everything but it jams every time I try to print two colors I even changed this whole carriage this guy remodeled this saying he had the same problem but my problems didn’t really change I’m definitely gonna have to do some work on that I was gonna give that one away to my friend but I don’t even I gotta fix it before him and give it to him cuz I feel bad giving it to him so this printer it’s all metal construction everything it would compute to colors it was really cool but after a month it just crapped out on me and I cannot figure it out it’s in the nozzle it uses this a crazy giant giant nozzle you can see there’s a huge mess of stuff on there let me zoom in oh yeah it’s huge it’s like five hundred times the size of a regular nozzle so I need to know how you replace that I don’t know what the inside of the hot end is like they both feed in there in this fan on it is so loud I got if I was gonna keep that I would replace those fans yeah it printed great for like a month and then it just started clogging all the time I don’t know if he just they got buildup in there I was trying to you know I’ve taken good care of it I don’t really know but okay so these are all the printers I have in there I have one more printer that doesn’t fit it’s not that big I just didn’t have any more room on the table so let me go grab that and I’ll show you that and then we can wrap this up okay guys this is the zone star z5 and you have never seen this on my channel that is because I refused to review this one it was so bad it had so many problems right out the box that I didn’t review it and I just salvaged different parts that’s why not everything is here but it is basically absolutely horrendous I have never checked out any other zone star products but I do not want to this was a nightmare to put together it was supposed to be a fast assembly but that’s not even it there was two broken end stops off the box so I had replacement stuff so I replaced them then after replacing I might notice the why and stop the bed can go so far back that it will be printing in midair like you won’t even you know I mean like it’ll be way off here so I had to mod it to pull it forward and it still didn’t work okay so then after I finally got everything set up I replaced it with a bunch of my own parts I turned it on and then it blew a thermistor and I’m like what the heck like right away so I replaced that then it blew another thermistor and then I just said you know what I’m done with this thing this thing is a piece of garbage I replaced four parts had to mod one and it in like okay and then this spooled or you can’t even fit a normal spool of film and I look how then this is like it you cannot put a spool of filament on there so I don’t even know what the point of having that is but yeah it was just terrible we had Auto level sensor so I thought that was cool but I never even got to use it I literally did not I I played with this thing for two days never even got one print off of it so just so you guys know if I get anything I recommend it’s because I recommend it if I don’t like something I’d rather just not even make the review then make a article trashing it so just so you know don’t you know if I say something’s good I’m not lying you guys I will not redo a review on something I do not like so this has been all my printers so let’s go inside I’ll give you a little conclusion of what I think and yeah okay guys so in conclusion which ones these are my favorite which ones I like the best okay so as far as partition style printers go my favourite smaller one is actually the any cubic ie three mega this is probably my most used on the joint it’s filled with just dirty as hell I use it all the time and you can print basically every type of material if anything goes wrong any cubics got great customer service but yeah sometimes it’s just not big enough for the job so sometimes I need something like my CHF back there or my JJ or or a five so the ginger I’ve only had this for like a month the CR ten I’ve had much longer Sanatana can honestly say is super reliable they have the best community ever then more people have the CR ken basically than any other printer so if one thing that really matters to you is being able to get support ask people for help if you’re totally new the CR ten is great the regulars here ten is pretty cheap it’s it’s well not cheap but it’s not as expensive as this one this one’s like 450 he’s still 300 to 350 or so for the regular one but honestly if you’re not gonna be printing huge all the time and you only have that much s but I would get the JJ Aurora because the JJ Aurora is on sale right now for only 319 and you can go almost as big as that and print every material and I honestly like this build platform better doesn’t have as big of a community behind it but I haven’t had to do anything like I literally have not done a single modification since I got this um CR ten though I see you cannot go wrong you lizard these are two of my favorite printers ever but the teamwork tornado also like all three of these are so close the team Oh tornado though I can turn it on and it’s all ready to go boom just like that the Tibor tornado if you get the newer one which if you ordered now yeah if you’re good don’t get one used um I would recommend getting one of the new ones I’ve gearbest if you’re gonna get one because you just affect the bedsheets up so fast and everything is so awesome Tibo also has great customer service they’re one of the only printers that comes with an actual instruction booklet this one’s also quite cheap right now it’s just a little over three hundred they take 325 or 350 of the most but it’s really cheap like when this first came out it was it was more than that as far as Delta printers go I’m gonna say anything from any cubic any cubic kills it if you don’t know how to money for the castle linear plus over there just get the regular castle I did a review on that too it in the past I gave that one to my brother but that printer is awesome and both any cubic they like no matter what you get they have awesome customer service the regular Castle much cheaper this one can do bigger stuff it can do more stuff it’s got a better power supply it can do different types of materials like abs and stuff where your regular one doesn’t have a heated bed and you can’t so if you’re only one we’ve got a budget you like building stuff I get the regular any cubic Castle but if you got extra money definitely get the lay meter plus back here we got the team of Michelangelo that think’s pretty nice but we got I’ve heard that the end or two it has heated bed so I think I’d rather get that but if you’re on a budget that one’s a little cheaper telling like 109 dollars but yeah overall I think your best bets are if you want something smaller get the any cubic I drew mega if you want something bigger and you got the money to spend and you don’t care about printing abs and stuff get the CR ten because having that big community really helps it means a lot but if you want to print all different materials get the JJ Aurora or the T book tornado hey JJ Turner though I have had more success printing abs and stuff the T Bo you can do it but it can be a little finicky so this is probably my sleeper I did not when I got this printer I didn’t know what to think of it and I’ve been blown away by this touchscreen too as well as the i3 is just killer but I love how this is all color and it just looks cool so yeah I could recommend any of these except the Thor BOTS and the zone star z5 don’t get either of those but any of these these are all good printers I’ll put links to all of them but yeah these are like my four favorite is
