2 Sep 2020 Listening: Breaking the Girl - RHCP

Great thing about the current wfh situation is being able to be there for my elderly parents. Today I managed to use my lunchtime to drive Dad to and from the hospital for his biannual check up, saving him loads of time from looking for parking, & energy from the need to walk from the parking lot to the actual hospital tower. Hamdulillah.

The not-so-great thing about wfh is that I have unfortunately developed some sort of anxiety over phone calls 😂 Everytime it rings now I just PANIC thinking it’s work! 😩

3 Sep 2020 Today I Watched: The Usual Suspects (1995)

Helped Mom type out a letter. Afternoon tea with both Mom & Dad while I work at the dining table. Little things like these are going to make me miss working from home, terribly. ☹️

It’s DoubleH’s birthday! I have shit ton of dumbass pictures good for future blackmail 😂😂 BUT keepin it nostalgic instead with a picture from past years’ customary Raya kopi! 🎂 ☕️

Today after work I had to rush to the dentist’s and it was RAINING CATS & DOGS and I thank God I still have my AF1s because they sure did come in handy! I didn’t want to wear any of my canvas vans because I know they’re going to get soaked, so these AF1s act like rain boots! I ran through puddles and my feet are still kept dry. Excellent shoes 👌

Initially wanted to give them away because I RARELY wear them, but I had no takers since my feet are too small, apparently. But I guess now I know its purpose ☔️😊

Didn’t know that I had to pre-order the gluten free pizza at Crust. They didn’t specify it anywhere in their website so I was deeply disappointed because that was the sole reason I suggested to go to Crust, so that I could eat pizza 🍕

On the brightside, got to spend it with the birthday man with the gang so it was all good good! 🥰

8 Sep 2020 Today I watched: American Psycho

Happy birthday to my high school friend, Sasarah! 🧡

Im still plowing through my phone camera roll and the months March and April are by far the most boring content because of MCO! MCO also triggered ED as proven in my camera roll filled with pictures of food I have consumed (which was very little) because I was rationing my food.

But I am now a-okay!

10/10 will recommend turmeric for your face because my chin improved significantly after I used this exact ingredient. Left was before, right is after.

Most importantly, the chin zits did not reoccur. Before July, I was living with them everyday.

12 Sep 2020 Listening: Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots

Today is Ainal’s birthday! I remember being excited to have same-generation colleagues when I joined her team at work because all of my previous teammates were much older than me.

For lunch, Mars and I went to Bens who unfortunately went back to their old menu which means no more of my usual butter chicken curry 😡 That was my go-to! Settled on their cheese burger instead which I barely touched.

Met up with HH for kopi at Piu Piu ☺️. ☕️☕️☕️☕️/☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ yum! I had their black (hot), iced chocolate & iced latte to close it off. Wore my “cloudy with a chance of meatballs” Vans today and they always make me feel happy.

Mars took photos of me at some random alley where we parked and I just HAD to photoshop them 😬

13 Sep 2020 Listening: Feel Good Hit of the Summer - QOTSA

This morning while trying to purge the closet I decided to take out my “box of memories” to see what I’ve accumulated over the years and it was funny seeing stuff that I’ve kept since high school. I have another smaller box where I kept random notes / cards / letters.. I love keeping tabs of certain things in hopes that I will remember them in the future.

Today we visited okgo. Mars scored me a cute hat.

And there’s a new cute soy place called Huang Soy Bar. I love soy milk, they’re refreshing (& a LOT kinder to my lactose intolerant ass).

USB-C to Lightning cable has got to be my best (& the only useful) purchase today, amongst other UNNECESSARY items bought. I felt so much better waking up today and I went straight out to do some financial damage which harms me even more. When will I ever learn?

Also since I was feeling physically better, I started the food trial diary thingamajig I was supposed to do. Barely a day in, and I already gained a kg. Wtf?

I dropped off my old handheld vacuum at The Hive (they accept e-waste!) before lunch at Gardens and also old clothes at a Kloth Cares bin. And then the yush kopi time with HH. Today I ordered with oat milk. Definitely not my cup of kopi.

Oh! Highlight of the day was finally meeting Alya, IRL! 😂 We’ve known each other since highschool on myspace hehe cool kan! Should’ve taken a picture together!

Yesterday my brother taught me how to actually read the numbers on your car tyres lol and we discovered that my rear tyres were from 2015! So to be safe, today I replaced them.

When was the last time You check your tyres?

& with the exception of your Dad and siblings, do you trust other people to drive your car?

I may not drive a fancy car but it is serving me well and Im grateful for that ❤️

BakedKL sent me the brownies I ordered for Mars’ sister’s wedding in the morning 🎉

Unfortunately, aside from the plan of passing him the brownies, we did not have anything else planned or any specific errand to run so we drove aimlessly before finally deciding to try Harajucube which caused us diarrhoea later in the evening 😡 I had some baked rice thing. I do not recommend! 😡

I love just sitting down and popping these. It helps me focus in a way. I usually don’t have the attention span for things. I don’t think Im anxious. Im just impatient.

Today after lunch I met up with Aims for dessert 🍨 And later joined HH and Mars who just got done with his sister’s nikah.

I am actually quite content with slow days.

Back to work! This week’s goal is to wake up at 6.30 a.m. everyday (Highly doubt it) 😬

TJ actually made a tattoo out of an old work I did for his book and it looked so good on his skin, his tattoo artist made my drawing look so much better! Working with TJ got me out of my box because it was slightly different than what I am used to. The best thing out of it was the trust he had in me 😊

I wish I have more time to do commissions.. With my day job, it’s a bit difficult to commit to a timeline.

Today I read a tiny article about Sonia Delaunay from an old magazine. I love colours but I don’t have the eye for it at all. I am terrible at colour combination. It takes actual talent!!

Also today I finally sync up the health app on my phone and have unfortunately developed a thing where I feel the need to close the rings.. Im home all the time now and I dont even go on walks so what I do is I just run on the spot or do jumping jacks in an attempt to close the ring which is honestly fucking insane.

Working from home has made me rely on coffee first thing in the morning. Today I got extra cranky because I did NOT get my usual a.m. caffeine fix because the cold brew I ordered yesterday only arrived AFTER LUNCH 🤦🏻‍♀️

Why did I let myself be enslaved to dumb shit?

Since my caffeine consumption was later than usual, I felt ‘bleh’, so I drove out to buy Lays and more coffee. I honestly think if I live alone, my pantry would have nothing else but chips. And cereal. And milo to eat my cereal with.

Oh and store bought coffee because I’d like to support local cafes! (when you know the ACTUAL reason is I just couldn’t be bothered about making my own coffee.)

Saturday!

We had late lunch at Gardens before going to Sphere just for kopi. I give it ☕️☕️☕️☕️/☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️. Today I wore the polleys I usually wear to the office. It was fun incorporating “work wear” with “casual wear” and since these have been benched after I started working from home in March, I thought Id take her out for a breather. 🌼

I appreciate good, long-lasting shoes. I’ve had these for the past 5 years. How old is your oldest pair of wearable shoes?

What do you guys use to hold your phones in the car? My attempt at trying to wedge the clip together with magnets have unfortunately failed. The holder keeps on falling out of the ac vent. Or is my phone too heavy? (In my head, I imagine my phone saying: “are you callin me fat???”)

Last night I slept very late because I was rushing a deck for work, only to wake up in the morning to an email saying the meeting has been postponed 🤦🏻‍♀️

On a separate note, my watch straps arrived and I need to google how to make a hole through silicone nicely because...

I am also promising myself NOT to buy new shoes until at least one of my current unworn shoes are sold 😩
