◈ ⇢  @jynxd ⋯ Continued Ask . ❝ Caitlyn and Vi take time to recover at the Kiramman Estate ❞

⊰ ⸻ ⊱ It was a welcome gift to wake up and be able to hear voices again. Her body still ached a bit but she finally back on par a little bit, she was able to sit down with her mother. She didn't have the gemstone, but she knew what Silco was after, she knew the dangers that lay within Zaun. The conversation was a bit sharp, with quite a bit of yelling that left Caitlyn coughing a little, her lungs still recovering from the smoke of the bridge that left her chest sore. But she managed to convince her mother (to her surprise). The walk back to the room was more a state of surprise than acceptance, as she pressed her hand down against her leg and flinched slightly. Spirits, it still hurt, it would take a week or so to heal, and her ears would need time to recover after being busted. But still, she was alive.
At what cost?
She pushed those thoughts away, needing to focus more on her mission. And not just that, but the other mission: Vi's. There was still so much she didn't remember, so much that confused her. Caitlyn wanted to help her piece back together her memories. The idea of losing something so important, just out of reach, must be maddening. There were things she wanted to know too, Jinx being her sister, for example, or what connections she might have. Ekko might be able to help her the most, but Caitlyn wanted to help her in any way she could.
Vi had a distant look in her eyes, as she looked at Vi sitting on the bed and Caitlyn joined her, brushing her hand lightly against her cheek. "It's okay, I just wanted to make sure you were alright," Her forehead pressed lightly against Vi's, and let out a little purr. "Well, I do hope I have a little bit of talent in that area," Caitlyn teased playfully as she opened her eyes to look at Vi.
At the question, Caitlyn let out a sigh as she pulled her head back slightly. "No, it's not you. Or well, she's not very...accepting of zaunites?" Caitlyn paused, not quite sure how to even express this. "But it was more the fact I'm demanding a meeting with the councilors after.... some illegal activity and breaking more than a dozen laws?" Caitlyn waved her hand nonchalantly, not at all bothered by her actions. "Still, I don't regret them, it needed to be done otherwise I wouldn't have the information I needed. But she's not going to kick you out, and even if she tried she has to get through me first," Caitlyn reached for Vi's hand and squeezed it softly.
"You don't have to leave, you deserve better than that,"

Flight of the Firehound
Based off of a cannon divergent thread I ran with @thenextchapterbegins
(Jayce has refused to assist Vi take on Silco, and revealed he has a terrible secret, where he plans to usher in an age of Magic and overthrow the council, now Vi has to flee Piltover or spend the rest of her life in Stillwater).
Vi descended the side of the Piltover Academy in a hurry, already the alarm whistles of the Enforcers were echoing off the cold stone buildings on campus. They were coming for her.
And after all, why wouldn’t they. She had gone to the defacto head of the Piltover Council, Jayce Tallis.
And what had she done? She had called him a monster, she had punched him in the face. Of course they were coming after her!
But what choice did she have. He was a monster. He had not only refused to help take down Silco, but he had also made it clear he had every intention on working with the man who had taken everything from her.
It made her blood boil.
And that was good, anger was good.
She hit the ground and started running. Hugging the shadows on the academy grounds and throwing up her hood. She didn’t wait to see if she was being followed.
The Enforcers probably hadn’t reached the ground floor yet. That was good, it gave her time.
She reached the outer wall of the Academy, it was tall, well made and imposing. She doubted even the most adventurous Academy students had ever scaled this beast.
But Vi had been doing this kind of thing her whole life. She could practically see the right path to take written into the stones. So she began to climb. Before she knew it, she was up and over the wall, all the while the Enforcers streamed onto the campus grounds on the other side, looking for someone who was now long gone.
She ran through Piltover’s streets, dodging traffic, avoiding idle Enforcers on the street, and ignoring the looks of passers-by.
But fortune was on her side for once, she wasn’t running to the bridges, where the Enforcers would expect her to go.
She was running to the one place topside where she could find safe harbour.
Cupcake.
It was late at night by the time she reached the Kiramman’s house. She didn’t waste time knocking. By now the Enforcers were starting to get wise to the fact she had assaulted their commander in chief. She had even overheard some of the Enforcers asking pedestrians on the street if they had seen a Pink Haired woman who looked like she had served time.
So once again, she was up and over the Kiramman’s wall. It probably stopped most of the riffraff getting onto the grounds. But she had done this before, and last time she had an injured Caitlyn with her.
On her own this was childs play. And soon enough she was opening the window to Caitlyn’s room and pulling herself inside.
Caitlyn sat in an arm chair, she looked…
Hell she looked mad. Beautiful, but mad.
‘Oil and water huh?’ She asked an eyebrow raised.
Vi smiled apologetically. ‘Yeah… I’m sorry about the mess.’
‘Last time you came through the window you tracked blood all over the floor. I’m sure it’s fine.’
‘No. I…’ Vi paused. ‘Well I’m glad you’re sitting down.’
Vi collapsed onto the edge of Caitlyn’s bed, and told her everything. Her conversation with Jayce, what he had said. What he had become.
It all sounded crazy. He wanted to become a creature of magic, he wanted to replace the council with one of mages. His arm had glowed like the Hextech gemstone.
But Caitlyn. She was perfect. She sat there and listened.
Hell, she even nodded whenever Vi paused. She wasn’t just listening, she understood.
When she was done, Vi sunk to the floor. Exhausted to the bone. The past few days had been draining, and now she had done a marathon through Piltover.
‘So. What happens now?’ Vi asked quietly.
Caitlyn slowly got up from her seat, and sat down next to Vi on the floor.
‘Well. As much as I would like you to. You can’t stay here. Not now. They’ll be looking for you, and they will come here.’ Caitlyn replied, before she produced a small metallic device from her pocket. ‘Fortunately, I have this.’
‘What… is that?’
‘A device that records sound. I, may have recorded your whole rant about what Jayce was up to.’ Caitlyn explained. ‘I’m going to show this to my parents.’
‘You think that will convince them?’
Caitlyn laughed. It was an adorable laugh that made Vi’s heart flutter. ‘Not on its own. But from what you’ve said.’ She gestured to her setup for the great conspiracy. ‘But Jayce’s involvement with Silco fills in all the gaps I was missing. I can’t believe I was so stupid. Of course he was behind the Shimmer shipments going into upper Piltover. Why would Marcus have been behind it?’ She rolled her eyes.
‘He’s… insane Cupcake. And powerful.’
‘But not invincible. But we have to move quickly and carefully.’ Caitlyn put a hand on Vi’s shoulder. ‘You need to go back to the Undercity and hit Silco and Jayce there. I’ll start working on allies up here. If we’re lucky, together we can stop them.’
‘Oil and water… They won’t expect to be hit from above and below.’ Vi mused, and Caitlyn smiled. ‘But… how am I supposed to get across the bridge?’
‘Who said anything about a bridge?’ Caitlyn smiled. ‘My family owns a boat. Well, it’s more like a pleasure yacht. We take that out into the bay, meander about for a while to avoid suspicion, then make out way over to your side of the river.’
‘We?’
Caitlyn unexpectantly laid her head on Vi’s shoulder.
‘I’m not letting you go on your own. I can’t come with you, but I can make sure you get there unharmed.’
Vi leaned her head up against Caitlyn’s, melting into the half embrace.
‘You’re… the best, Cupcake.’
