Sif valued being known as a strong warrior. She had always wanted to be perceived as strong, brave, honorable and courageous, but if the Goddess of War was to be honest, being separated from her daughter was testing that strength.

It had been eating her alive on the inside being parted from Torunn and wondering if she was okay, alive, and if she knew she was loved and missed dearly. Everyday for the years since, Sif's only goal was to reunite her family again, and it was the hardest battle she had ever faced.

But now...all that hardwork, tears, heartbreak and sweat paid off. Torunn was back home. Immediately, without any hesitation, Sif ran towards her daughter and took her into a tight hug, fearing that if she didn't, the young girl would disappear in an instant. "I'm so glad you're safe...my sweet girl. My dear Torunn! I've missed you each and every day. Don't worry, I won't let anything tear us apart ever again."

Debris and bodies surround the child genius. Her small body lays in the middle of the a vacant area with her leg twisted. Riri was covered in a LARGE POOL OF BLOOD. Some of it was her own, the rest are from the enemies and bystanders. Her suit shuts down and her helmet is broken with her left eye and cheek exposed. She was unable to sense the shadowy figure approaching her. Her sight was still blurry, so she was unable to see who is above her.

She’d snuck up on practices.  Young Asgardians training like they had in days long passed. Less intense training maybe, but still it brought a smile to Sif’s face as she scanned through the heads looking through the blonde hair.

Once she’d awoken with her senses, once she’d been told that indeed Gorr had been defeated, Sif found that all her questions about where she was, and all that had passed, faded away to one question.

Where was her daughter?

Here. Here, somewhere out by the water, some of Asgard’s young training on their own, others in groups, and Sif looked carefully across their faces to find her daughter. She would know her when she saw her. Sif was not the most conspicuous presence, but she was still light of foot, and some of these children were too young to remember who she was. Just another adult.

When Sif spotted her out away from the others it took great effort not to run forward, she had waited so long already, another minute could be beared. Instead she approached with caution, watching carefully at Torunn’s practice. Her girl, so much grown. For a few moments she let herself take it in. She leaned against some of the rocky outcropping, and watched. War was her gift, and she knew how to analyze each movement Torunn made. There was a mistake in her swing, and it was frustrating her. The signs easily visible when one of her two hotheaded parents was the one looking.

Sif pushed off the rocks to approach just in time for a shout and a sword to go flying off into the sea. She followed its arc, high, strong, and Sif considered it a moment before turning to Torunn.

“I promise not to tell if you don’t,” she smiled at her daughter, and it felt like her heart was shattering all over again. There was Torunn, so much older and capable and she’d missed so much. How was she ever going to make all this up to her? “Now, you can hardly practice without a sword, so unless you want to go swimming I might be able to lend you one.” Sif unsheathed her own sword at her hip and walked closer. “But you’ll have to promise not to throw it, and to let me show you how to fix your wrist. That’s what was giving you the trouble.” She held the handle out to her daughter and tried to keep her heart quiet.

Despite it being a request Sif was usually not used to, the mother couldn't help but give in for her daughter. She was a warrior. Yes, granted she was also a woman (or goddess too), but Sif never wasted her time on things like getting her nails done or spending too much time braiding her hair. Instead her focus was on the battlefield. "Of course you can. Which color did you want to choose my little princess?"

What could she say? What could she do to fix all that has happened?

Sigyn already knew the answer: the damage had already been done. Her niece had grown up without her parents and had been separated from the world she knew. Granted, Torunn was back home now, but things would never be the same. Loki had ruined his chances with their niece, and only further strained his relationship with Thor and Sif because of it.

There was nothing the Goddess of Fidelity could do to fix it, but what she would do was be there for her niece and eventually try to mend things for Loki. "Hello Torunn, I don't know if you remember me, but I'm your Aunt Sigyn. I'm glad you're home safe and sound. If you ever need anything, let me know."

The laptop sat open before him with the latest specs of the Stark Security team. A beer bottle sat on the side table next to him. It was far later than he realized until the little girl's voice brought him out of his work and his eyes flashed to the time. How was it one am already?

Happy closed the top of the computer and moved to squat down in front of her. "What's up kiddo?" he asked gently, wanting to give her the opportunity to explain what was keeping her awake.

"We did the night routine right? Shower, teeth brushed, we read another chapter in our book. Is there something specific keeping you up?"

ah the oldest trick of all times, but scarlett recollects that it still works. it is a great back up plan, however—  the archer hopes they won’t have to resort to that. “ always.” she cracks a mischievous smile as she takes a quick look at the blonde beside her. “but you know– you’re with me. we’re not gonna get caught so you can relax. just follow my lead and i'm sure everything will be fine.”

She hoped she’d get there before Val’s master plan came into action, but. Who really knew with Val. She could just be doing it because no one else was going to. “No one has ever accused the government of only having good ideas. There’s got to be a bad one every once in a while.”
