Long ago, when Pixie Hollow was young, two fairies fell in love. One of them was a Winter fairy and the other, a fairy from the warm seasons. The two fairies were enchanted with each other, and each evening they met on the edge where Spring met Winter. As their love grew stronger, their longing to be together grew greater. One day, they devised a plan to ignore the warnings of danger and cross the border so they might be with each other. Fairy wings were fragile and with the slightest hint of ice or heat, the damage could be severe. Shortly after crossing, one of them broke a wing— an injury for which there is no cure. From that day forth it was decreed that their worlds would remain forever apart. And the two fairies?

They simply had to say goodbye.
