You were laying with your head in Robin’s lap, listening to your girlfriend ramble about the latest mixtape Eddie had made for her — you hadn’t had the chance to listen to the one he’d made you yet, but if it was anything like the ones he’d made for the rest of the gang, you knew you’d love it — when your eyes caught on the motes of dust floating in the rays of sunlight streaming in through the window.

Ordinarily the two of you would be out enjoying the sunshine, a welcome break from the week straight of pouring rain that had been plaguing Hawkins. Unfortunately, with the sun came a stiflingly humid heat that left the two of you confined to your blessedly air-conditioned house.

Robin’s voice a soothing soundtrack in the background, you reach up to let your fingers dance in the rays of golden light. Out of the corner of your eye you see Robin’s smile grow as, without pausing her rambling for a moment, she reaches her own hand up next to yours. A giggle escapes you as your hands brush together once, twice, three times before Robin’s fingers, chipped red polish shining in the light, wiggle their way in between yours. The two of you let your fingers dance together in the sun for a moment before Robin grips your hand tight, pulling it down to press a kiss to the back of it.

You can feel the smile on her face as she mumbles against your skin.

“Do I have your attention now, sunshine?”

You twist, turning your body so you’re on your back facing upwards, your girlfriend’s thighs serving as a very comfortable pillow as you meet her eyes with a grin.

You hum, pretending to consider, before eventually deciding “I dunno, I might need a couple more kisses…”

Your giggles are cut off by Robin leaning down, more than happy to oblige your request.
