my discourse-y opinion of the night is that i think a lot of angsty whump family dynamic sbi fics with tommy as the mistreated main character would actually be more in character if fundy took tommy’s place

#chatters #like...i saw a fic recently where its like 'phil disowned tommy and let him be adopted by someone else because he considered him useless' #and like firstly that is so out of character i could scream #secondly that's not. who he did that to. in canon. #that did happen. it didn't happen to tommy though. #like you want a character who has a strained and tenuous relationship with their family to project on FUNDY IS RIGHT THERE #mcyt fandom critical #its like...you're warping the characters to fit the plot when it should be the other way around #ultimately i wish fics focused less on tommy/crimeboys and more on literally any other character
