this is maybe more of a tragic what-if/possible headcanon than actual real analysis but just thought what if part of the reason qfoolish has this hate-love relationship to qbad is because hes afraid of losing him
like at first it was definitely genuine animosity- bad is annoying, and pokes and prods at him to get a reaction out of him, and no matter how much foolish tries or wishes he'd go away he keeps coming back. but then that's just it. he keeps coming back. and at this point foolish is used to losing people, or waiting for a promised reunion that will never come, or waking one day to find them gone without a trace, but at some point he finally accepts that badboyhalo is, somehow, the single (annoying) constant in his life. and somewhere along the line something that could be fondness looms on the horizon, but foolish won't let bad be a friend, can't let bad be a friend, because one day when he finally loses him too it'll be much easier if he's losing his greatest enemy rather than his closest friend
(though, perhaps inevitably, bad ends up being a bit of both anyways)
