it does make me a little sad that feasibly emrys and astarion probably can’t spar often… their fighting styles are too different. when sparring is a STAPLE of my cliches.

#I mean I guess they could but it would be soooo…. #well maybe compelling. in my head Astarion strikes always to kill / no dallying / less flamboyance than one would expect with him #I have NO idea where he learned to fight honestly in his 200 years but I can only imagine that with what his lifestyle was like #there wasn’t actually much room for egregious flamboyance or ‘showing off’ — strike to kill. end the fight fast #I’m sure he knows a few cool knife tricks but I just see him as a bit scrappy in real combat #leaving as little room for error as possible not because he’s concerned about show or technique but that pure survival drive #a bit desperate a bit unrelenting. ready to be as cruel and brutal as he needs to to Live and Win. #anyways all that to say that in contrast #Emrys fights very… honorably? for lack of a better word. #very much the Mighty Glacier trope. #she’s burly and immovable. she doesn’t bother with tricks. she just strikes hard and true and to the front #never to the back. #And I think that scrappy cheater vs bulldozer to the front…. #it COULD be fun in a fight. but it would be more fun in a REAL fight than a spar. #Where would they fight!
