Day 55 Wesier ID: I drove 7 hours from Sandpoint Idaho to Weiser Idaho. It’s pronounced “Weezer”, like the rock band. I played at a farmers’ market in Weiser. It was a pretty small market. The people who run the market are super friendly. In fact, just about everyone I met in Weiser was super friendly. It’s an old town in the desert with a beautiful big river running beside it. The town seemed small. Anyways, I played at the farmers market. There were not many people shopping at the market, but the people who were there were very kind. They listened to my music and clapped at the end of my songs and tipped me generously and bought CDs. I only got to play for about an hour before a wind storm came along and created chaos. The market provided me with a canopy, but I had to grab it so it wouldn’t blow away. The vendor next to me was selling “insect motels” for beneficial insects to live in during the winter. At the behest of his wife he helped me keep my canopy from blowing away. Kids went around and helped vendors pick up their merchandise that had blown off tables and signs. Another man who books shows in town came over and helped me pack up my canopy. He wants to have me play at his music venue next time I’m in town AND he wants to help me get into some of the big music festivals that they put on in Wesier. It was precious to see all the people helping each other. I don’t what it is about this town, but I felt like it may have the densest population of kind people that I have ever witnessed. Wow! Thank you Weiser! I’ll be back!
