We have had Cappuccino and that Lemon Cheesecake which was to die for, for cheesecake lovers like myself. It was so soft that it melts in your mouth. I had Nacho Soup which was also delightful. LABYRINTH; LABYRINT POD ZELNYM TRHEM; BRNO, ČESKA REPUBLIKA: Just 212 steps down to enter the labyrinth’s winding passages The passageways in the Labyrinth under the Vegetable Market lead to unique and mysterious places, including medieval cellars hidden six to eight metres below ground. Visitors learn how food, wine, and beer were once stored and how this underground space used to be lit, and also see a collection of archaeological findings. The tour also visits an alchemist’s laboratory and recalls the doctors, pharmacists, and physicists who lived in Brno and made the city famous throughout Europe. An old wine cellar and a period tavern are reminders of the local tradition of winemaking. Replicas of a pillory and a cage of fools, both of which were located at the town marketplace in the 17th century, evoke the darker side of life a few centuries ago. The tour also introduces some of the punishments that awaited dishonest craftsmen, traders, and merchants. BRNO OSSUARY UNDER THE CHURCH OF ST. JAMES; BRNÉNSKÉ PODZEMI, ČESKA REPUBLIKA: After Paris, Brno has the second-largest ossuary in Europe. The number of people buried here is estimated to exceed 50,000. There was a churchyard at the Church of St James (the site is now Jakubské náměstí, or St James Square) as early as the beginning of the 13th century. Like many other churchyards, its establishment within the city walls later prevented its extension. The churchyard capacity quickly became insufficient for the needs of the growing city, and a special system of burial had to be adopted in which graves were opened 10 to 12 years after burial and the remnants were removed to make room for another body in the grave. The remnants from the original graves were moved to special underground areas, called ossuaries. It is situated at Náměstí Svobody, the main square in the Brno City Centre. The monument was proposed by Oldřich Rujbr and Petr Kameník. PAVILLON STEAK HOUSE; BRNO: I have to admit, the restaurant looks intimidating but the intimidation was gone soon after a friendly waiter started talking to us. The place @pavillon_steak_house was so elegantly decorated, romantically lit, and not to mention food that is well garnished. The ambience has exceeded beyond my expectations so as the food. I was craving for a steak and boy I happened to come to the right place. I have had Tenderloin and French Fries paired with Pinot Blanc to complement my steak. ŠPILBERK CASTLE: Špilberk Castle (German: Spielberg, locally Špilas) is a castle on the hilltop in Brno, Southern Moravia. Its construction began as early as the first half of the 13th century by the Přemyslid kings and complete by King Ottokar II of Bohemia. From a major royal castle established around the mid-13th century, and the seat of the Moravian margraves in the mid-14th century, it was gradually turned into a huge baroque citadel considered the harshest prison in the Austrian Empire, and then into barracks. This prison had always been part of the Špilberk fortress and is frequently referenced by the main character, Fabrizio, in Stendhal's novel, The Charterhouse of Parma.
