so my ancestrydna results came in today and i am bona fide eastern european jewish

this is like a big thing for me bc i was rly terrified my mom might have been lying about it to seem “interesting” but my mommom also told us we were jewish and i know she wouldn’t lie to me so it was just a case of the test

i feel ... so much better now hbgrbgh

#also the fact that i have like legit jewish dna means i can trace my ancestry back to israel almost definitely #i looked up a lot of stuff about it and yeah like ashkenazi jews didn't marry outside the ethnicity much #they tended to stick with each other and marry other jews #which is why ashkie jewish dna is so easy to pick up #it's a nice big chunk too like i was worried it'd be like 0.5% or something #but nope it's much more #which is amazing considerin how much we've been force-assimilated and our blood lines diluted #the fact that so much is showing up on my dna results means it's probably only like 10-15 generations back #that i have a full blood jewish relative whether it's by being like from or around the levant or that my eighth-and-back #great grandparents kept marrying within the people which is so cool #i was really freaked out i was gonna look back into my history and find that everything i was told was a lie #or that it was just conversion a few gens back or something #which i mean would still mean im jewish but there's just smth rly comfortable about knowing ur family came from israel #aaaa this is so nice i am so so happy im gonna do a 23andme test too but wow wow wow what a comfort #im so happy
