So I just looked into that top 50 celebrities list put out by myclimate.org and they say that they "only use data that celebrities themselves publish," meaning that someone being tagged in a post in one area of the world and then the next day posting in another area is how they calculate mileage and emissions. It seems like a pretty glaring data flaw when Taylor obviously isn't going around posting her location or having people tag her in things most of the time, idk. I agree that there's a lot of undue focus being put on Taylor, specifically, when clearly it's a more widespread celebrity problem, but it feels like misinformation to me to be using that study as a gotcha.

#its somewhat unclear how theyre collecting this data but it really doesnt seem like they're using anything other than social media #so no news sources or gossip sites or anything like that which would be posting taylors location consistently #it also does say tags count but like how does that even work when fans tag celebrities in unrelated posts all the time? #does it have to be a tag from a mutual or something? #anyway this data is bad and doesnt actually help taylors cause im sorry to say #it also says the no 1 polluter is travis scott with 6 million kg in 2023 compared to taylor swifts 8.2 million in 2022 #which is data from before the eras tour even started so 2023 has gotta be way higher than that #taylor swift
