polls are fun + maybe i just have research poisoning but every time i see someone who appears to be earnestly trying to get generalizable data from their tumblr polls ("everyone reblog this but don't tag it or you'll ruin the sample!") i'm just like hhhh... no....

#like tumblr is inherently a bias sample to begin with + within that you are further biasing it to followers #which tend to exist in loose(ish) bubbles of types of ppl #nothing you generate from a tumblr poll is going to be meaningful info abt any group broader than #your followers + their immediate followers #but i see ppl trying to use it to like. get rates of gender/sexuality identities or gauge overall opinions of the POPULATION #just plz plz plz don't make me start seeing takes based on statistics you garnered from tumblr polls
