OK so *i clap my hands and it scares you* infodump on that nonfandom oc--
Tumblr media
full name is christoph james dowell, but christoph works just fine!
don’t call him “chris”. he hates it. it’s christoph or go home.
pure-blooded american babeeeyyy and he’s gonna let you all know because he’s as stereotypical as they come sometimes. there are bits and pieces of italian, polish, and *drumroll* slovak in there though; don’t ask him how or why-- his parents come from mutt families :-)
23 years young. technically, anyway! he’s realistically about 87 years old or so; his story takes place throughout multiple places in time, so he’s as old as anyone born in, say... oh i dunno throwing out a year here... 1934 would be in today’s times!
he was born in 1934 and “died” in 1957. it’ll make sense soon. winky face (; (;
6′5′’ tall and surprisingly doesn’t slouch. his posture’s pretty decent actually. he’s described best as “moderately lanky” with also an “adequate amount of muscle”. he’ll flex if you ask him to but don’t expect much of a gun show-- more like a... uhhhh, knife show. because he also has knives. knives are cool.
cis male and goes by he/him pronouns purely! he likes men and masculine-aligned individuals so would probably be best described as gay. he’s chill with noncis identities and the like since his time on this world evolves his worldviews, as well. he’s basically that white boy meme of “damn your ass fat, what’s your pronouns?” where u know he’s gonna be annoying but at least he’s gonna be respectful while annoying the piss outta u.
his clothing style revolves, primarily, around mid-to-late 1950s and early 1960s fashion. think of your typical greaser get-up with early, adaptational punk influences. christoph doesn’t overdress but also doesn’t underdress. prefers leather jackets the most, paired usually with a wifebeater, ripped jeans, and combat boots. but he can branch out into more “extravagant” clothes no problem-- checker patterned leggings, skinny jeans, fur coats, leather pants, tank tops, etcetc! hell he’s not picky, he’ll even wear a skirt and/or a dress if he's in the mood for it. just don’t ask him to run in heels because he’ll definitely bust ass on the concrete.
he also hates wearing suits and tucking his shirt into his pants. that’s dumb and makes him feel and also look dumb. like he’ll do it if he has to but he’s gonna complain about it.
technically doesn’t... really... have a job? he’s seen mostly as a drifter to others and somehow just always has money on him. somehow. it’s suspected mainly that he gets his wealth from the stashed funds of his late parents, seeing as they were fantastically rich. in a sense, he can be seen as a “hitman” if you know of the right places to look-- stereotypically, his services can be bought off the dark web (i know. look, i know.) for certain, totally cheap prices of anywhere from 10k to 50k. surprisingly, he gets enough jobs that he’d probably be able to make a solid living off of it.
his voice is best described as deep with a distinct hoarseness to it, sounds like he’s smoked at least three packs of cigarettes in one day. and who’s to say he hasn’t. very expressive otherwise tho! accentwise he’s definitely picked up a brooklyn accent; think of greasers and the like with their typical slang, too. don’t be surprised he just calls you “doll” regardless of gender. recently, too, he’s picked up on calling people “dude” because he likes the way it sounds.
for the most part, christoph’s a laid back guy with a horrible penchant for holding grudges. if he feels that he’s been wronged then that’s it: your days are officially numbered but only he knows for how long. he comes off as pretty fun and, perhaps, even as a junkie for adrenaline. he laughs at most jokes (even if they’re not funny. sometimes just to be a good guy and other times, which is the majority, to be sarcastic and make the person feel like garbage for being so unfunny.) and is considerably an open-minded fella. if he likes ya, he’ll let you know and will gradually become ride or die for you. on the other side of the coin, however?
his rage is, essentially, his biggest weakness. well, that and his slew of other character flaws but his rage? the biggest component to a potential failure. he basically sees nothing but red and will stop at nothing to make your life a living hell if he thinks you deserve it. his story actually revolves around this-- it’s a revenge story because he believes (and, quite frankly, is right.) that he’s been wronged and goes down a one-way road of nothing but sweet, sweet vengeance against the group that’s ruined him. when he’s like this, he’s one of the worst people you’ll probably meet. he’ll scope out for potential weaknesses -- and trust me, he will find them -- and then will continuously exploit all of them. he loves breaking a person down to the point that they’re in tears, begging for their life, and basically having a borderline panic attack just to tell them “just kidding!” then grin and kill them anyway.
otherwise, he’s just kinda... annoying to be around if you’re not used to his brand? he’s callous in a lot of aspects and doesn’t care about the feelings of others. obviously he’ll respect a person’s boundaries if they’re made clear, and he’ll by no means go out of his way to genuinely trigger someone or upset them if he likes them. but to strangers and to those that he doesn’t know well? he doesn’t care about making a good first impression.
he also cusses like a fuckin’ sailor. he’ll say “god is a pissing cocksucking shithead” in a church deadass and then wonder why they are escorting him out. like, cmon, it was just a prank bro
he also smokes indoors. so he’s that kind of prick if that gives you any kinda idea. his one defense, though, is that he’s not an actual freak. he’s a prick but looks down on people that take advantage of others, and this most certainly includes animals. because of this he has a bit of what i’d call a “vigilante complex” where if he knows someone is committing something as heinous as that, he’ll go after them. no miss.
christoph’s brand of justice is the best kind, in his opinion, is what i’m sayin’.
TW FOR CHILD ABUSE!!
born to a pair of rich parents that were, honestly, your run of the mill rich white people. they weren’t outwardly malicious but have partaken in some shady things. christoph grows up with a sister, emilie, and a brother (who was adopted into the family because they thought that adopting a poc would give them “charity” points in that time period which is just... y’know. fucked up.), benjamin, and they get along really well. none of them were actually, truly abused (yet.) but more or less neglected. they weren’t really given many boundaries, christoph especially since he was the “baby” of the family. benjamin’s the one that’s disciplined the most with emilie getting the secondary brunt but hers were considered more as “slaps on the wrist”. otherwise, though, they were... brought up modestly well? no one acts like they were born in a barn, or so the saying goes, anyway. but, still, it could’ve been better. what their parents were the most guilty of, again, was simple neglect.
because of this christoph was encouraged into lashing out a lot. he had anger problems as a kid and fought occasionally with benjamin. he’d sometimes bully emilie, too. he’s hardly disciplined because, obviously, he’s the youngest so he’s more-so spoiled rotten as his form of abuse. he of course mellows out over time but also gets into the wrong crowd. when he’s maybe 15 or 16, he joins a friend group that’s seen as “unsavory” by the general populace. he’s actually beat for the first time by his dad because it comes out that they were the cause of a series of petty break-ins. but not because it was wrong-- just because it’s linked back to the family name. this essentially teaches him the message of “if you’re gonna get caught, don’t do it at all,” so he gets better at not getting caught.
these group of friends get into some weird shit over time, too. you know the general idea of satanism and how it’s actually not that bad when you do research on it? kinda like that only minus the research part. they thought studying satanism (it was a poor source due to the time period, painting it as something purely evil and sinster.) and what soon developed into demonology was cool and edgy. the self-proclaimed leaders of the group got it into their heads that, hey, this looks like fun. let’s try summoning a demon ourselves!
years go by and, what d’ya know, they do just that. they plan on using emilie as the “vessel” and lure both her and christoph to an abandoned barn. it takes some convincing but emilie eventually caves because poor girl didn’t want her baby brother to go alone. she secretly worried about him a lot. ): but both of them go, and the gang swarms on emilie. christoph tries defending her but gets outnumbered pretty quickly. they kill her for the sacrifice and, oop, nothing happens! this makes him go absolutely ballistic and he tries going after them (does get a few stabs in here and there.) again, but this time, they kill him too. the rest of the group flee the scene.
a few days go by and suddenly christoph just... wakes up? he knows he died but doesn’t know why he’s back again. looks for emilie but her body’s gone. that freaks him out. he doesn’t go back home because he’s highkey freaking out even more But Quietly. over time his parents eventually file a missing persons report for both him and emilie, and there’s rumors that maybe christoph killed her for a “satanic ritual”. makes his hometown freak the fuck out. red panic but make it satanic panic, basically.
during this, his parents get more and more unpredictable and benjamin moves out as soon as he can. he works now as a paranormal investigator with leanings into exorcisms! he also is writing a novel in his free time, too. he’s doing okay nowadays. :)
at this point, christoph gradually pieces things together and decides that he wants to enact revenge on those people he once called his friends. it’s both for himself and for emilie, because he’s with the belief that she’s dead. spoiler: she’s not. so a majority of his story revolves around this! he tracks all of them down over time and does them all in, but one of them don’t meet their untimely end until modern times. it’s a slow process that also involves christoph trying to adapt to the changing world and also coming to realize that he simply isn’t human anymore.
christoph is, generally speaking, what you’d call a “ghoul” but with demonic influences! he cannot die by any normal means, retains typical ghoul-like behaviors found in other popular media (regeneration, enhanced speed, strength, and endurance, and the like!), and can only die truly by having all of his limbs chopped into tiny, little pieces. he can theoretically survive a beheading but will need to put his head back on eventually, because... y’know, he needs that to function like an actual “human being”.
he also has the lovely ability of reality warping and technology manipulation! his reality warping works in the sense of fucking around with technology-- his existence essentially turns all forms of technology haywire when he’s close enough. if you catch him on film, it's normal for the most part but there will be times, with a strong emotional “outburst” from him, where the footage will warp and look almost as if it came from a totally different plane of existence. colors are off, audio’s distorted and hard to make out, subtitles are there for some reason, filters are applied that cannot be repeated manually no matter how hard you try, and the like. it can look... almost dream-like, in a sense, but in a really unsettling and uncanny way. but he can also basically Take Control of technology. he can control the “other voice” on the phone for instance, control characters on the television, and the like.
he is also capable of yanking people into “his” realm via technology. think of freddy krueger pulling someone into the “dream world” through the tv. it’s literally the same thing with christoph; he can reach through, grab you by the arm, and just... yank ya on through. it’s a fun little prank he likes to play on others. on that realm, however, things are considerably just... wrong, for lack of better word. you’re in there and you immediately feel sick. a sense of vertigo, almost. if you were to try and capture that world on film or even in picture, it simply wouldn’t pick up like a normal picture. all of the side effects christoph can do to a captured piece of media said above? that but this time it’s permanent.
otherwise he’s generally a normal person! he has pretty decent fighting prowess but not at the start of his story; he gets there with time and actually gets his ass kicked a few times early on because of it. his fighting style is best described as haphazard and unpredictable. he’s very frustrating to fight against because he will use whatever is available. bottle? that’s getting broken on your dumb head. television? he’s busting that shit over your skull too. fork? right in the eye, sonny. granny on the chair? he’s taking the whole chair and granny and beating your ass with it. sorry gramgram.
also, yes, his faceclaim is bill skarsgård!! :-) i like him.jpg
his animanga faceclaim i’m currently using will be claire stanfield from baccano!

first, context. ok so i already wrote abt it in the replies of this post but i figured this would be easier for people to reblog in this format & i can maybe write a bit more abt it.
the reason why cisswaps, rule 64/63 or whatever the rule is, also known as GENDERBENDS are transphobic are the usual reasons: invalidating trans ppl, etc. etc. etc. i won’t repeat that, because if you weren’t listening then chances are you won’t now.
though even KNOWING JUST THAT—that it invalidates trans ppl—y’all cis ppl won’t stop. like c’mon that’s all you should have 2 kno tbh. there’s already sumthin wrong w that.
still, though, hopefully i can clear things up a lil bit, & PLEASE TALK TO ME if u have more questions instead of vaguing at me or w/e. i’m so sick of seeing genderbends tbh. final note: i’m not tryna attack you, so don’t use that as an excuse to not listen.
so sum1 brought up the following idea (which i’m glad they did, since y’all need to tell us what’s confusing u so we can explain it. maybe logic will work ? who would’ve thought — sorry i’m salty):
Its funny how many people will say “I won’t interact with cisswaps they’re transphobic whats in their pants shouldn’t matter!” yet a lot of the time when they make muses trans they’ll usually swap their birth sex, usually to take a canon male muse and making them female-at-birth but now a transman instead of making them a transwoman or something, or just leaving them as their canon sex in the first place. Because what’s in their pants doesn’t matter, right. Has no one else caught this hypocrisy?
frankly, i can see where you might be a lil confused, if u’re viewing it that way/ so lemme clear a couple things up. i think a lot of the problem is people not seeing how writing characters as trans isn’t cisswapping/genderbending/w/e.
NOTE: the following is mostly applicable to mtf & ftm, though people who are other genders may also identify as trans, like me, whomst identifies as masc nb. this is not to ignore them; i would like to recognize them but focus on what the community generally identifies as a trans person when they’re writing noncis characters, since typically they’ll just call those ‘nonbinary,’ which they are as well. (it’s an individual choice to be called whichever, or both.)
first of all, whether the interpretation of the muse is cis or trans, the idea is that they end up with their canon gender.
this means that even if you have a muse that’s ftm (born female, identifying as male,) but they’re canonly identifying as feminine, that’s bad. that’s transphobic. we’re not excusing that, that’s some nasties who think they can get away with it cause their muse is trans ‘uwu u can’t hurt us !!!’ nope. still bad.
EDIT: I WROTE mtf INSTEAD OF ftm IN THE ORIGINAL POSTING OF THIS. mtf WOULD’VE BEEN FINE.
why is it bad? because that is basically cisswapping, but trying to cover it by saying that “no it’s just trans hcs.” that’s just as bad, so don’t get that idea in your heads that that’s okay, either.
if you say that a cis masc person is the “same thing” as someone who is trans mtf, by following the idea above of it being okay (since it’s “not really transphobic,” as some people claim, which the op of the confession noticed & rightfully identified as wrong) that’s nasty because it’s insinuating that even if someone is trans, it’s their sex that matters. cisswaps work similarly.
why are either of those bad? first of all, because trans people say so. but that’s not enough for you guys, clearly, so let me try to explain it another way:
it isn’t a cisswap when someone is trans mtf when their canon gender is female. that entire thought—that someone is cisswapped if their gender doesn’t match their sex—is inherently transphobic, because it’s saying that their sex is more important than their gender; that they aren’t “truly female.”
it’s okay that you may have thought that way. recognize it for what it is—a transphobic thought—and move on. you may think transphobic thoughts, but you can recognize them for what they are & move past them. it’s a significant step.
also, please note that y’all, when focusing on sex vs gender, ignore the fuck out of intersex people, whether y’all are cis or w/e. that’s a whole nother can of worms, though, so i’ll move on.
what we mean by “what’s in their pants doesn’t matter” isn’t that sex doesn’t matter—it does, to some extent. it changes their experiences if they are trans (having to bind, general dysphoria, etc.), & i can see that some of y’all wanna write about that.
but recognize that if you’re just trying to make them the “opposite sex” (again, real quick, reminder that intersex ppl exist,) to change that, you’re also harming millions of people. so maybe lay off on that. instead, you can have them deal with that but also be the same canon gender. that’s chill.
trans ftm ppl have to deal with sexist actions on the daily, just like cis fem ppl, or generally fem presenting people do. so y’all can have ur little ‘what if’s without being transphobic. y’all can write abt how sexist things are, or the different expectations that both men & women face (talking about them as society views them, as again intersex people) without being transphobic.
if you want to write that sort of stuff, just change their sex, not their gender. some mtf people will face sexism, though, to be clear, notably if they look female/passable for “naturally” female. (again, gross, since that implies being trans isn’t natural/it’s a choice beyond whether to actually transition.) however, it is because of that concept that you don’t have to cisswap to write your ‘uwu how’d it be different’ stuff.
they’re the same person, no matter what sex. their personality, won’t change, though maybe their views on how they experience the world — that you can easily also address by just writing a trans character. it’s that simple.
however, you should not write about transitioning & other trans experiences if you yourself are not trans. again, another can of worms, though. just take my word for it—and the hundreds of other trans ppl in our community that have to see themselves being invalidated & misrepresented every day.
when you have a genderbend, you’re saying that what’s in their pants does matter, past their daily experience (that tbh is often sexist bc often they’ll be written as shyer if they’re a female or w/e but another can of worms)
before you tell me you’re not saying that, rmmr that you’re insinuating that the character can’t be the same gender even if they’re another sex by saying that it’s cisswapping.
to finish this already too-long post:
your muse can be whatever sex you like, just keep the gender the same. (loosely, ofc, as they can be interpreted as being a diff gender canonly, such as demiboy or w/e)
