i dont know if someone has pointed this already but its so interesting how a big part pf the 5 kage arc naruto spends it without wearing the headband aka the biggest symbol of being a shinobi and its so fitting because during this whole arc naruto rejects the whole shinobi rules just for sasuke because he refuses to give up and more importantly in killing sasuke like everyone is telling he should. him not wearing the headband when hes saying the whole speech about dying together is so important to me because here is where naruto puts sasuke just above everyone. thing here is naruto is aware of sasukes plans to destroy konoha and even with the whole suicide pact naruto cant be 100% that sasuke wont be able to kill him first, that possibility exists, and if it happens sasuke would manage to fullfill his goal of destroying the village but he still refuses to accept to kill sasuke or let others do it (he goes back to the village and the first thing he does is tell everyone they cant fight sasuke. only he can) when that would be the most reasonable and right choice for any shinobi.

and its curious because the only other time naruto isnt also wearing the headband while confronting sasuke is at the end of vote2 and its finally when they manage to end their quarrel, not as shinobi but as naruto and sasuke only.
