a small sample size obviously but stuff like this makes me hopeful the season won’t be a complete disaster (specifically, the way cam talks about his relationship with torts and also the way torts talks about his relationship with cam--it wasn’t what i was really expecting). i still think overall the season is going to be Bad and kind of hopeless--losing g isn’t going to help with that--but maybe it will be better than the hakstol/av/yeo era. :|

December 22, 2017
Carina zipped up her black puffer jacket and put her hands into her pockets walking through the hotel lobby. She was in Buffalo for the 2018 WJC.
“Knies!” Joseph Woll called out jogging across the lobby, Quinn Hughes and Josh Norris knew Carina was going out to get coffee and told Joseph so he could go with her.
Carina slowly down her walk but didn’t turn around to the voice, she knew who it was.
“Hi.” Joseph let out a breath as he caught up with right before she got to the front door.
“Hi.” Carina blunted replied, she furrowed her eyebrows still confused about Joseph, She’s use to most people backing off when they meet her because it’s obvious she is not a people person and is just a generally grumpy person but for some reason Joseph never backed off and Carina did not like how that made her felt.
She did not like how when the last two WJC have been over she still thought of Joseph, it was distracting and annoying, she did not want to keep thinking about him.
“Getting coffee?” Joseph sheepishly asked even though he knows the answer.
Carina nodded and walked out the front door into the snow filled town, it was still snowing but she wanted good coffee more, the hotels coffee was terrible.
“Have room for one more?” Joseph curiously asked looking at her with hopeful puppy eyes, he would respect if she said no but he really wanted to spend time with her.
Carina just shrugged but didn’t say no, she just kept walking down the road.
Joseph smiled triumphantly and looked over at Carina seeing her nose already getting red and could see the way her nose scrunched in distaste from the cold weather and snow.
Luckily for Carina the closest coffee shop was only a few minutes from the hotel they were staying at.
Joseph grabbed the door opening it for Carina, Carina nodded and walked into the coffee shop, she sighed quietly feeling the heat in the coffee shop.
“Black Coffee, two extra shots of espresso.” Carina bluntly told the worker her regular coffee order and gestured for Joseph to order his as well, Joseph went to protest but got a stern look from Carina.
“Caramel Latte, extra caramel and whip cream please.” Joseph softly order with a soft smiled towards the worker.
Carina pulled out her wallet before Joseph could and paid for their drinks and grabbed the receipt heading to empty table knowing Joseph was following her.
“Thank you.” Joseph smiled brightly at Carina as he sat down.
“Yeah.” Carina mumbled out with a stiff nod.
The waiter set down the two mugs in front of them and walked away.
Carina picked up her mug and sighed as she drank her coffee, she hummed slightly as she tasted her favorite thing.
Joseph watched softly as she seemed happy as she got her coffee and he felt himself smile seeing her happy.
Joseph knew Carina was stubborn and she had walls extremely high and he knew if he ever wanted a chance to be able to with her that it would take time for her to be comfortable with him but he was more than happy to wait as long as he had to for her.
Carina was worth the wait.

Carina walked into her hotel room for the WJC in Montreal, she set her her bags down and headed to shower after the plane ride.
She put on a pair of black leggings and her USA hockey sweater shirt and a pair of white tennis shoes and headed down the lobby where she was to meet the team.
She was in the elevator waiting to go down when it opened and Jack Oettinger and Clayton Keller walked in, “Kniesy!” Clayton cheered when he saw her and Jack smiled giving her a fist bump.
“Kell, Otter.” Carina nodded at the both of them.
The three walked out of the elevator and headed to the room they were told to be at and walked in seeing most of chairs already filled with the team.
Carina saw a few opening chairs next to one of her teammates and someone she may consider a friend, she sat down next to Tage Thompson, “T.” Carina nodded at him.
Carina had met Tage two years ago and he always seemed to treat her like a little sister and she seemed to have more patience with him than most people.
“Hey Car.” Tage smiled at his friend giving a her a fist bump.
Joseph Will was talking with one of his teammates and turned his head seeing the back of head he couldn’t ever forget, he excused himself and walked over to Carina sitting in the empty seat next to her.
“Hello Knies.” Joseph smiled widely at her, he’s been crushing on her for a year already and he’s tried so hard to get closer to her.
“Hi.” Carina blunted responded not liking how her heart skipped a beat in his present but chose to write it off for annoyance.
Tage raised an eyebrow at the two but didn’t say a word.
January 5, 2017
The buzzer went off at the end of the game, as the United States had won the game and that means they won gold medal as well.
Carina skated over to Joseph last after their teammates had alreadly congratulated him, “Thanks.” Carina mumbled and knocked her helmet to his gently before skating away.
Joseph smiled even wider from the interaction with Carina and he felt his cheeks bright red from the attention from her.

A) anon, there is something ,weird to start on the road with 11 wins in the row and since then ...losing and falling just a goal per game. It is not a lack of depth etc it is lack of chemistry, bad atmosphere or dynamics. Of course Tazer likes his vacay in Arizona or Mexico, new gf and their links to psychedelic paradise but he has skipped All Stars Game since 2017. Also with Lindsey and up to warm climate. Seth Jones is up to All Stars for The Blackhawks. Tazer up to Cabo. He is not so mad about ice hockey lol
Tumblr media
B) we have BROONZeee!!!!
Tumblr media
C) anon. Lol, I mean it is funny what you said. I think Wright looks older than 20, Bedard like 14 but the rest of both team look like young guns.
Very interesting games in the finals as well as semi finals. Very adult like hockey. I guess anon Czech success in adult as well as minor category is linked to the change of coaches and ex communist big wigs. They got a bronze as well as silver but you hear from those Czech biggest big mouths popping out in the press that they have no clue about the system called ,gegenpress and d men not sitting on blue line but counter on counter attack of rival forwards. They were not excellent skaters with other tech level but their battling and team spirit with an inner strength were enormous. I guess you hear from old Czech ex communist nepo troupe bs like oh very active defence and how get a positive mindset from 8-10 to zero lol. I guess it is in synch with a promo of 51 years old still playing Jagr in Czech press by former Pens who is also a co owner of an ice hockey club just in time when their juniors won a silver medal. So desperate. He was brilliant during WJC as 17 years old but decades ago. Competing about press and attention with a generation of his possible children lol. So nasty as well bcs it was apparently a case years back when adults got tips from M about development or just admitted they know her.. all about male vanity and s....and how young players date young beauty pageants girls lol.
Tumblr media
Seriously. I would like to know how many guys M gets to NHL draft from her ice hockey academy close to Zdeno Chara's home town within years based on development, tactics and skating lol. M was apparently stupid when she said all Czech ice hockey players are slow, any angling was up to Marketa being sent to stick to her ,figure skating,. They still trash her and sent to the kitchen to cook a goulash bcs it is a surname of a player who was another target of their former fashionista nepo coach.

Apparently this junior coach is a main coach of an ice hockey team and his assistant coach is a father of Filip Zadina. He won with previous team 3 titles of their league and Czech junior coach got a gold 20 years ago.. Maybe a reason behind the change of the wind and Finish coach for adult Team Czechia but he apparently plays very strict defensive system seen during their journey to a bronze. Marketa preaches two way read and react gegenpress ice hockey seen with the juniors of Czechia.. it is quite funny and sad how once amazing ex NHLer's vanity and deluded idea about reality regarding the career and age, his murky links to ex communist money laundering politicians.

list of players loaned to wjc directly from their nhl teams in the past decade
wanted to quickly put together this list to see the likelihood of 3 players being loaned this year, because i'm not liking the chances especially for guenther and wright.
stats from wikipedia btw but i don't think anyone is actively looking for these stats to change them lmao
2022 2.0 - none
2022 1.0 - none
2021 - kirby dach (chi) -> broke his wrist in the one pre-tournament game, out for 6 months afterwards
2020 - barrett hayton (ari) -> battled injury and sickness the entire tournament
2019 - none
2018 - none
2017 - none
2016 - none
2015 - none
2014 - none
2013 - none
2012 - brett connolly (tbl)
that means within the past 10 years, of tournaments, only 3 players have EVER been loaned directly from their nhl teams to the wjc without passing through junior. statistically then, it doesn't add up for the wjc team this year to suddenly be able to get back 3 major prospects for the tournament. they'll be lucky to get even one. and while yes, the covid year screws things up because a lot of nhl teams probably would've taken players like bowen byram or dylan cozens away from the team, that still doesn't account for how rare it is for nhl teams to send their players directly to the wjc without sending them down to junior first
i think it's very plausible this year that team canada is able to get one, MAYBE 2 of the guys back that they want. i highly doubt it's going to be all three. my bet's on brandt clarke, given his lack of usage and reports that he's actively having conversations with the wjc team
I DO NOT THINK SHANE WRIGHT WILL BE ATTENDING WJC.
i'll come right out and say it. from the way both francis and wright have talked about wjc, it seems like an after-thought to both of them at the moment. they'll think about it after they see if wright is ready for the nhl, they say. no active conversations being had at the moment, completely the opposite feeling of what clarke had.
not to mention how they specifically held wright out of the summer tournament with the intents to play him in the nhl this year, sending him down would feel like giving up. also note how there's always been rumours of nhl prospects being sent back like cole sillinger or seth jarvis or alexis lafreniere that never EVER come to fruition. considering the fact that the 2/3 guys suffered career-altering injuries at wjc (kirby with his wrist and i think barrett hayton broke his rib?), i highly doubt seattle is going to want to send their prized posession to wjc to have him come back injured.
we got a bit ahead of ourselves guys. i'll admit, i definitely did. we saw a logical move and said hey seattle should do this. but they won't, because they're an nhl team with no plan for their prospects whatsoever. none.
