authors note ✩° : forgot to mention i’m making my preferences more short bc a long time ago my cousin said that i should keep preferences relatively short and sweet.

- As a the top student of your class, it was easy getting good grades. You basically never had to study. That was until Xavier Thorpe became number one and humiliated you, knocking you down to second.

- He is EXTREMELY sarcastic when it comes to messing with you. I’m talking the type of sarcasm that makes you want to jump on him and rip his hair out level sarcasm.

- But it’s ok because that’s his way of messing with you.

- Assigned seats are a thing, unfortunately, and even worse : in nearly all your classes, you’re forced against your will to sit next to Xavier.

- See it wouldn’t be much of an issue if he weren’t so tall. But he is, so his extra length causes him to occasionally brush up against your arm or leg with his own. It’s inevitable but when it happens, both of your minds just buffer.

- He doesn’t say sorry, instead he just pretends like it never happened, but he also sneaks a glance towards you to see how you reacted when he accidentally did bump into you.

- He seems to always be in the library whenever you are, so if you choose to sit by him he’s going to try and strike up a conversation.

“What are you studying?”

“History.”

“Cool. Need help?”

“Does it look like I need help?”

“Honestly? Yeah, it kinda does.”

- If you constantly worry and stress over school ((twins)) and Xavier sees that? Best believe he’s going to make an attempt to try and be there for you. A simple note from a paper he tore from his stash in his bag, he would ask if you're ok. When you're obviously not, you'd say you were to avoid any more interactions with him. But he knows.

- SUPER competitive in art and sports. They're the only time he’s actually smiling and laughing with his friends and expressing extreme emotion around you. Otherwise he’s calm, cool and collected.

- If he loses to you in a sport or competition of some sorts, he’ll sort of throw a tantrum. Like, smash a tennis racket on the ground kinda way or breaking his pencil and throwing it. Sometimes it backfires and hits him right back in the face. It’s cute.

- Group projects...you're almost always assigned to have HIM as your partner. Everyone in the room can feel the tension. The two most competitive academic scholars of Nevermore...right next to each other...working...TOGETHER???

- Despite your history with each other, Xavier wants to talk to you. He’ll find any excuse to talk to you under all those eye rolls and crossed arms.

- The ONE time you ask for help from him is during an art project worth 80% of your grade. One thing led to another and you now have a whole splash of red paint over your almost finished canvas. Ashamed and embarrassed, you ask the guy who you know to be an absolute god at art, Xavier.

- Through the whole thing, he coaches you through fixing and removing all the paint, of course at first he said “You know, it’s pretty fucked up, I don’t think there’s anything I can do to help you” but once he saw the tears in your eyes he stopped immediately and started to help you.

- Ever since then he’s made passing complements towards your art.

- He makes snide comments like, “Admit it, you like talking to me,” or, “When are you going to accept that you think what I do is impressive?” just to get a rise out of you.

- Since you two are a part of different friend groups, you don’t see each other at lunch a whole lot. Sometimes you’ll see him at his table of friends, and he’ll notice you too, but it isn’t long before Ajax or Rowan do something stupid and his attention is locked back onto his friend group.

- Constant glares from across the room or passing through halls by you, and eye rolls and teasing grins from him.

- “This would be a lot faster if you just let me help you.”

- He’s the type to have a nickname for you because of something dumb you did when he was around. Yes, he makes it known that he’s talking to you when he uses it, and yes, everyone knows.

- Xavier is the MASTER of reassurance. Especially the type of reassurance behind closed doors. His voice will get super soft and his hand on your face will be even softer, looking into your eyes with nothing but adoration as he speaks slowly and genuinely.

- Absolutely loves hugging you, especially from behind so he can wrap his arms all around you and stuff his head down in the crook of your neck.

- Xavier is a bit of a crazy type, but like on the down low. So if anyone is messing with you about your weight or your appearance? He’s got a sketchbook. He’s got a pen. With a little digging around, he’s got the person’s worst fear locked in his memory. So.

- He’s tall so no matter your size he always lets you borrow his clothes. In fact he wants you to because you look adorable in them. Especially his hoodies and shorts.

- Sometimes he’s kinda scary because he just pops out of no where and wraps his arms around you, smirking at your reaction every time you do a little jump or gasp when he surprises you.

- Loves giving you forehead kisses and pulling you into his chest and whispering how much he loves you just so only the two of you can hear.

- Whenever he kisses you, he really likes to bring his hands up to your cheeks and brush his thumb just under your ear lobes.

- If you feel insecure about your weight, Xavier reminds you just how much you mean to him and how beautiful you are, running his hands up and down your body and if you're not into that in the moment, he’ll rub his thumbs over your knuckles as he holds your hand. He doesn’t leave your side until you stop crying or stop talking bad about yourself, even if it means spending the entire night with you.

- He’s good with his hands. I’ll be mean right now and leave that up to the imagination. I’m talking he loves grabbing, holding, squeezing, and...teheheehhehehehehehe anyways.

- Calls you pretty all the time, sometimes it can be possessive like ‘my pretty’ or ‘my Y/n’

- Dare any of his friends make fun of you or make backhanded compliments towards you or you being Xavier’s girlfriend, because if they do they're immediately getting dropped after he defends you. Because who are they to say that shit especially when they get no bitches fr...
