Some more Qin Shen Shen moments translations (Part 10/?)
2020 S2 Reunion Edition 1/?
Tumblr media
Link to other translations so far.
I will just...translate all the cuts from S2E10 and any related materials I can find, since I have been Qin Shen Shen-deprived, and one episode is really not enough. But the cuts are long, so I will divide it into parts.
a. Cuts from the interview with Wen Yu Xin Tian Di prior to the reunion episode S2E10:
ZS: Hel- LKQ, very fast: Hello everyone, hello everyone, hello everyone, we are Qin Shen Shen!!
ZS: *pauses before calmly picking up again* Hello to the viewers of Wen Yu Xin Tian Di. We are (finishing with LKQ: Qin Shen Shen~~)
(...)
ZS: Even though it’s been a long time since we’ve last seen each other, almost a year, (LKQ: Pretty much) after we did see each other again, it was like it hasn’t been that long since we separated. It’s just...fight when we want, act silly when we want, play when we want and laugh when we want -- *gasps at self* it rhymes.
LKQ: Yeah, actually, at the outset, before I saw you again, I was a little worried. (ZS makes a surprised face) As in, would it feel like we haven’t seen each other in a long time, would it feel a little foreign...? (ZS: Really?) But NOT AT ALL.
ZS lets out a laugh.
LKQ: It’s still the same old....*strikes a pose instead of finishing the sentence*
ZS:  Your Mandarin is also the same old one. *laughs*
LKQ: *nods* Yes.
(...)
LKQ: We’d often care about each other. (T/N: Sorry, based on what the voice-over said, I don’t know if what he says here is “we’d ask each other how the other is doing”, or “we’d think about the other’s well-being”, as in, it’s not clear to me whether they verbalised the care)
ZS: Yes. We’re...facing special times, so...just hoping everyone can take care of their health.
LKQ: Yes, but also: I’ve seen on the net that Zhou Shen’s done so many shows with different styles. (ZS: Heh. *nods* Mm.) He’s really worked very hard.
ZS: Eh? It’s not so bad. I’ve simply had lots of fun playing games (in variety shows). (LKQ: The traditional clothing *unintelligible* is not bad!)... I’M NOT TIRED AT ALL~ (Both laugh)
Side-note: The traditional clothing might or might not be a reference to Youth Periplous 2 cosplays, since Zhou Shen did get a traditional outfit in YP2, but who knows what Li Keqin saw online.
Tumblr media
b. Li Keqin’s solo interview with Litchi’s New Year’s Eve. The interview question is “Is there any difference between your collaboration with Zhou Shen this time (in 2020) and last time (in Wo Men De Ge S1)?”
LKQ: His voice fits in the type that goes really high, and is very sharp. Mine is relatively deep, and thicker. We didn’t think the chemistry that would happen (by combining them) would be this strong. No matter what, a duo like ours shouldn’t become one of those “senior-junior” relationships, where we are forever speaking courteously to each other like “Ahhh, big brother Keqin~!” If we are to be a duo, then we’re at the same level of seniority. That’d give the audience a sense of familiarity.
Side-note: He actually hasn't answered the question.
c. S2E10: Backed by popular demand, Qin Shen Shen returns to Wo Men De Ge. The camera shows the two walking in the backstage as they head onstage.
LKQ, stopping to look at a placard: Eeeehhh.
ZS: What, what are you looking at?
LKQ: This wasn’t here last year.
ZS, grabs him by the wrist to pull him along: Why do you make it sound like we didn’t have anything last year?
LKQ, still wants to stop: Can we take a selfie?
ZS, yelling: We had that!
d. S2E10: Qin Shen Shen make it to the stage, while the other contestants are already seated.
ZS: Hello everyone, I’m Zhou Shen~ We’re back again!
MC: Welcome! Welcome back to Qin Shen Shen! Welcome Shen Shen, welcome teacher Keqin, welcome!
LKQ & ZS, standing side by side onstage: Thank you, thank you.
LKQ and ZS look at each other, making the latter laugh, while LKQ slowly starts to circle around him.
ZS, backing away: *laughs* Wait a minute...! What is this supposed to mean, what are you... *changes places with LKQ and puts some distance between them* I’ll use my toad technique: kwak!
ZS grabs LKQ who is still circling to put him back in place.
LKQ: It’s been a while since we’ve been here.
ZS: Stand properly while talking.
LKQ: Right.
ZS: Right, it’s been a while since we’ve been here.
MC: Do you feel like anything has changed on this stage?
LKQ: Well, I do like the dry ice. *motions towards the dry ice on the floor, making the MC laugh* (to ZS) We’ve been talking about this issue all last year.
ZS: Yeah, I noticed there’s this issue in this season too. Some people would get a bridge, some people would get a door, some would get a mountain, and when it comes to us, it’s just ...(LKQ: Dry ice.) ...dry ice.
MC: Everyone knows that Qin Shen Shen is just one group of Li Keqin’s. Teacher Keqin has another group called “Ke Bu Rong Huan”. (ZS: Oooh!) And the “Rong” of “Ke Bu Rong Huan” is sitting over there (aka Rong Zu Er/Joey Yung).
LKQ (to ZS): Do you want to say hi? To elder sis Zu Er.
ZS: I already did!! *bows all the same* Teacher Zu Er, hello!
RZE: Hello. *bows too* Fellow student Zhou Shen, hello.
ZS, bowing again: Hello, teacher. Hello.
RZE: Let me introduce you! *points next to her*  Miss Xilinnayi Gao. Zu Er’s little sister.
LKQ: *waves* Hi. Little sister, hello. (ZS makes a face)
XLNYG: *bows* Teacher Keqin, hello.
LKQ bows again in response. ZS sees LKQ bow and follows suit.
RZE: Next to me is Tai Yi. (TY also stands up and bows silently)
LKQ, bowing back, along with ZS: Hello, hello. I saw on the show that you talk very little.
RZE: He always talks precisely.
ZS: So both short, and precise. (RZE: Yes) OK.
RZE, continuing the presentations: Teacher A Zhe~
Zhang Xin Zhe and Qin Shen Shen continue with the bowing fest and courteous greetings.
RZE: Teacher Wang Yuan~
WY, also standing up to bow: Hello to both teachers.
Qin Shen Shen, by now synchronised in their bows: Wang Yuan, hello~ *more bows*
ZS (to himself): So polite. *bows again*
RZE: Teacher Chang Shi Lei~
Qin Shen Shen, synchronised again in their bows: Hello, hello.
CSL, standing up: Both of you, you’ve had it hard (referring to all the bowing)
LKQ: It’s already been 15 minutes!
RZE: You wanted me to introduce you!
ZXZ: This...Qin Shen Shen is...you know, before we came to participate to “Wo Men De Ge”, Qin Shen Shen was this tale you’d hear underground. You’d hear all sorts of tales, many of them. And today, we finally see them onstage, after struggling for this long...But I think it’s worth it. Because this kind of stage needs a chemical reaction like yours, to bring us more surprises.
RZE (about QSS): They have so much chemistry. (ZXZ: Yeah!)

Some more Qin Shen Shen moments translations (Part 11/?)
 2020 S2 Reunion Edition 2/?
Tumblr media
Link to other translations so far.
a. S2E10: After Zhang Xin Zhe and Tai Yi’s performance of “Gun Gun Hong Chen | Rolling Red Ashes” by Sarah Chen:
MC: With two men singing this song, what kind of feeling has this performance brought us? Let’s start by hearing from the ones with the least pressure: Qin Shen Shen.
ZS and LKQ just wordlessly point at each other, each waiting for the other to speak first.
Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly, LKQ gives in first.
LKQ, picking up his mic: It’s very good. (ZS laughs) Um...so first of all, it’s a  really iconic song. And regarding the brand-new arrangement, I just have to look at Shi Tou next door going *imitates Chang Shi Lei’s waving dance during the song* to know that the arrangement was really, really good. And...of course, Zhe Ge, I have nothing more to say: I - I - I’ve been listening to your songs since I was small. *rubs knees* (ZS burst out laughing)
ZXZ, laughing at LKQ: Don’t use that on me!
ZS (to LKQ): Hey, why steal my line?
LKQ: *starts singing a few lines from one of ZXZ’s song* (to MC) When I go to KTV, I sing his songs. (ZS makes a shocked face) Yeah. *sings some more* Really! Really! So as soon as I heard his voice, I was just...whoaaa...
ZS, nodding: Just right.
LKQ: And Tai Yi is just...First off, the impression he gave me, just through watching a show like “Wo Men De Ge”, is that he doesn’t talk a lot. But as soon as he picked up that instrument, the imposing air came on immediately. *suddenly looks at ZS* Am I right? (ZS: Yeah!) Eh. Talk a little.
ZS: Oh, I just think...because earlier on, Teacher A Zhe very courteously said that we (QSS) are a group coming from legends, but actually, it’s his voice and his person (LKQ: Right) that have consistently existed in the legends I’ve heard. Yeah, because I think it’s the first time I hear Teacher A Zhe’s live. So as soon as he opened his mouth I was just *gasps before singing* I love you~~ *laughs* Instantly, all the images - including from cartoons and dramas I’d watched, cassettes and CDs I listened to - all those memories came back. It’s a uniqueness that cannot be replaced.
ZXZ: Thank you.
ZS: I also want to talk about Tai Yi. *imitates TY’s usual brevity* Very good! *puts down mic* (ZXZ: *laughs*. TY: ....Ok.)
MC, correcting: It should be *imitates TY’s talking style* “The... ...you sang is...”
LKQ pushes ZS’s shoulder.
ZS: Oh, OK! (to MC) Ask me to comment on Tai Yi. (MC complies and asks again) *forcefully articulates each syllable* Rolling Red Ashes is very good.
TY, hesitating: Should...I reply?
ZS, squawking: I’m not listening!!
(...)
When asked to comment on the same performance, WY gives a very wordy and elaborate explanation as to why he always felt sleepy when he listens to ZXZ’s voice, and how it’s because his voice reminds him of the peaceful sounds he listens to before sleeping, like flowing water, and TY’s voice is like sand lifted by the wind etc etc.
LKQ (to ZS): Lo...look at how nicely he’s speaking! (i.e. learn from it!)
ZS, at a loss for words: I...I also miss my bashful days ;;;. *chuckles*
b. S2E10: After Wang Yuan and Chang Shi Lei’s performance of “A Bloody Love Story”. The other artists are asked to comment:
RZE, struggling a little to pronounce the word: I was left “speechless”. (...)
ZS: I have something to say. Just, after listening to teacher Zu Er talk, I think, teacher Keqin... *turns to sing to him* “You Are Not Alone~"
LKQ, a little miffed, cross-legged and staring at him sassily: So you’re saying right now that our Mandarin is very ordinary, aren’t you?
ZS: I am saying that I can just feel that your relationship is very good.
RZE: Did I say “speechless” wrong?
ZS, being a little shit and imitating her, while LKQ continues to stare at him: It’s very correct~~
RZE, being a very good sport: Thank you~~
ZS: Alright, teacher Keqin, you comment first.
LKQ, still extremely sassy: You talk first.
ZS: No, no, because teacher Keqin kept on talking next to me-- (LKQ, sassily to ZS: I’m very angry, you can talk first) *laughs and holds onto his arm* he kept on talking about the arrangement, (to LKQ) I know you have a lot to say.
LKQ, instantly recovered: No, I just felt like I watched a musical. There was everything. And there’s another point I want to talk about, it’s that...perhaps some of the audience don’t know, but every week we have to prepare 3 songs for this show. Last year, when I came to this show, every week I had a really, really bad headache. (ZS instantly giggles like a little shit because LKQ’s intonation on the “ache” was incorrect - “tou2 teng4″ instead of “tou2 tong4″ or “tou2 teng2″ ) Picking songs.... and then thinking about what to do with it...
CSL, whispering to WY: Our heads never really hurt (tou2 teng2), huh? (WY: He said “tou2 teng4″)
LKQ, continuing while ZS is still holding his laughter: It’s just...a lot of hassle, and a lot of struggle (ZS giggles again because he says “zhou1 jie2″ instead of “jiu1 jie2″ for struggle) But when I look at your performance today, there was really everything. And also, you performed really well. (ZS laughs once again because he pronounces “perform” as “biu yan3” instead of “biao3 yan3”) I was watching Shi Tou’s expression when he was singing, and he had acting in it. (ZS, agreeing: He was very much engrossed in it) It wasn’t just carefree singing, he was going *imitates CSL’s dancing and expressions, making ZS laugh* He had acting in it! And I also saw Wang Yuan. Um. I’ve seen you dance when you were in your group. This is the first time I’ve seen you dance alone. I can feel the efforts you’ve put in. Really. (WY: Thank you, teacher Keqin, thank you)
MC: You were just saying that they had everything, but let me correct you. There’s one thing they didn’t have. (ZS: What?) Dry ice.
LKQ: Haaaa!
WY: We did! We did! There was dry ice in the beginning!
ZS, instantly: Do you have to fight over this too? Can’t we even have dry ice???
LKQ (to ZS): Dry ice prince. Come on, talk.
ZS: No, it’s just, first off, “Fei Chang Yuan Man”. I knew they’d be good, because Shi Tou is a very good producer. But what surprised me more is that, based on our earlier chat, it seems that this song was written - uh chosen by Yuan. You chose it, didn’t you?
WY confirms but says CSL is indeed the one who is really good, and explains something about the lyrics that CSL has modified to give it more story.
ZS: He (WY) is just being polite/modest. Actually, he was really good.
CSL: Yeah, well, he has to be polite/modest until the end, right? Otherwise, we’d have been polite/modest for nothing in the first half. *laughs*
c. S2E10: After Rong Zu Er and Xilinnayi Gao’s performance. Xilinnayi Gao says something about how she will look back on the memories of “Wo Men De Ge” fondly and that coming to this show will be a beautiful memory.
ZS: Actually, my feeling is the same. Namely, that it’s “beautiful”. Because, truthfully speaking, everyone’s lives nowadays are very busy, or tiring, or something else...It’s very hard to find a sense of security. But through our show, it’s two generations of singers who, through music, get to know each other, and will start to exchange this feeling of security with each other. Just now, when I turned around, and I found teacher A Zhe and Tai Yi, both quietly listening like this...and then you’d see this group (Chang Shi Lei and Wang Yuan), when I saw them, they were both listening with their eyes closed... You’ll find that they gradually feel more and more secure with regard to each other. I think that’s the charm of “Wo Men De Ge”.
CSL (to ZS): I also congratulate you very much on having found your sense of security. (ZS laughs) Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to say those words...
ZS: So earlier on I was looking at that group there on stage and thinking, ohh! How wonderful! Looking over there at you guys and thinking ohh!  and then looking over here (at LKQ) and thinking... *clicks tongue* “....what are you doing??”
ZS laughs, while LKQ grabs him by the arm.
ZS, sassily and using the polite form of “you” to LKQ: It’s your turn to speak now.
LKQ: I think..... um....
CSL: ....that being with Zhou Shen brings you no feeling of security? (ZS laughs)
LKQ: Actually, it’s been a very long time since I last saw Zu Er. Last time I saw you, I think it was at your concert last year. I feel like you’ve grown over the last year. When I was doing concerts with her, I felt like I was the big brother, and she the little sister, that kind of feeling. But now, when I see you today with Xilin, there’s a feeling of “ah, I am the elder sister, I have to look after her, I have to...” Whether it’s about the sound, or the looks, everything........it’s like me and Zhou Shen. *leans meaningfully towards ZS while the latter backs away*
Tumblr media
LKQ, protesting at ZS’s denial: Hey!!
ZS, laughing: Alright! It’s about time that I cooperate with you. (LKQ: That’s right!)
LKQ (to RZE again): I feel like you’ve really grown up now.
d. About Qin Shen Shen’s performance of “Fu Shi Shan Xia | Under Mount Fuji”.
LKQ (about ZS): I told him, “ey, actually, that song, I already sang it before (on Masked Singer). What do you think?” (and he replied) “No worries, no worries, we can sing it differently, as a duet”. Ok, ok. So I thought we were going to sing it in Mandarin. But he kept up with the Cantonese.
ZS, standing up to bow to RZE: Teacher Zu Er, later when I sing in Cantonese, please be lenient on me.
e. About Qin Shen Shen’s “Fu Shi Shan Xia | Under Mount Fuji” - post-performance:
XLNYG, immediately after the song ends: They match so well!
MC: Let’s hear everyone’s thoughts fresh out of the pan. As to Yuan, I already read it on his lips when the song ended: “They sing too well!” Right?
WY, confirming: Six words. “Qin Shen Shen are crazy people”. (QSS laughs) They’re too...... *can’t finish the sentence and just does a thumbs up*
MC: Wang Yuan has six words. Let’s see how many Tai Yi has.
TY, counting on his fingers: *decisively* Seven. “I want to go to that place” (Mt Fuji). Because...because... after listening to it, I really found it very romantic. Because I’ve never been there...I...I’ll definitely go there. And when I go there, I’ll put on the version of this song that you sang, and I’ll listen to it on the mountain. Thank you.
Qin Shen Shen, bowing: Thank you, thank you.
LKQ: When you buy your plane tickets, please invite me and I’ll sing it for you there.
ZS, correcting the pronunciation: Plane tickets ( “fei ji piao” instead of “fei ji piu”, but honestly, it’s fairly imperceptible)
MC: Zhe Ge.
ZXZ: What else is there to say about this? *points at QSS* It’s just like the tales from underground, taking place over there.
ZS takes the opportunity to thank ZXZ for helping him, I guess, advertise a song in another show. He sings a few lines of the song at issue, and ZXZ replies with the title: “Wo Shi Zhen De Ai Ni | I really love you”.
MC (to ZXZ): I thought you’d sing a few lines with him.
ZXZ: Huh? No, I already knew there’d be a trap like this. I won’t fall into this kind of trap again!
ZS: No, no, who knows, maybe in the third season of “Wo Men De Ge”, *looks intently at LKQ and stresses the words* I’ll get an opportunity to sing a duet with teacher A Zhe!!
LKQ (to ZS): What do you mean by that?
ZS, holding his arm: No, no, I have no such intention. *bows* Thank you teacher A Zhe.
MC: Xilinnayi, this kind of Cantonese, does it put any pressure on you for your upcoming song?
XLNYG: I was looking at the lyrics earlier on (for ZS), and it only had the characters, no alphabetical letters (pin yin).
MC: So will your screen have alphabetical letters?
XLNYG: Ummm.
ZS: It’s really no big deal (to have pin yin)! Because Cantonese seriously is HARD. (LKQ: Yeah)
XLNYG: Yeah, when you look at the characters only, you wouldn’t be able to guess that it’s pronounced a certain way.
ZS: Yeah, people can’t imagine how hard Cantonese is.
LKQ (to ZS): We get it, Cantonese is hard, you already sang it really well.
ZS, laughing: No, I actually sang it wrong at the beginning just now.
WY: This is already Versailles.
ZS: It’s not...!
ZS helplessly tilts his head to the side and LKQ playfully knocks into his shoulder.
MC, referring to RZE: And here comes another very certified Cantonese teacher.
ZS, probably trying to make up for his jokes earlier: Teacher Zu Er, you’re seriously beautiful. Teacher Zu Er, I really like you.
RZE, smiling: ................Very good! (ZS, laughing: Well-received!) One male singer’s song, and they could make such a seamless collaboration out of it, I find that really awesome. (ZS makes a thanking motion with his hands) And I think the degree to which their two voices match, their reputation is not just baseless rumors.
ZS: Thank you teacher Zu Er. (RZE: Is my mandarin still okay?) It’s GREAT.
LKQ (to RZE): Hey, how come you grew up but your Mandarin became....
RZE: I am working hard.
ZS (to LKQ): Actually, no! I think teacher Zu Er’s.......... Mandarin *looks at LKQ* is.....why am I digging this hole for myself? (LKQ starts to stare at him) *finishes while looking at LKQ*........is better than Keqin’s. *laughs*

Some more Qin Shen Shen moments translations (Part 12/?)
2020 S2 Reunion Edition 3/?
Tumblr media
Link to other translations so far.
a. S2E10: After Zhang Xin Zhe and Tai Yi’s 2nd performance, a rock arrangement of a song by Zhang Yu Sheng, Zhang Xin Zhe talks a little about his experience when he first debuted, along with other young artists at the time. This included Zhang Yu Sheng.
ZXZ: Of course, when we first debuted, we were all young. And there were many areas in the arrangements that the music company had for us which we were actually really unhappy about.
LKQ bursts out laughing, but really genuinely and loudly, making both ZS and CSL smile at him.
CSL, holding LKQ’s arm: Is that a laugh that says “I can relate”?
LKQ, agreeing: I can very much relate!
CSL: It was a very loud laugh...
ZXZ, noticing the laughter and pointing at LKQ: Right? Wasn’t it so? (LKQ nods, still laughing)
b. S2E10: Still commenting on Zhang Xin Zhe and Tai Yi’s 2nd performance:
LKQ: I think the most amazing thing about the stage of “Wo Men De Ge” is that...for example, I’d have very little opportunity to see this kind of performance from Zhe Ge. There’s a feeling like he’s stepping out of his comfort zone. Perhaps in your concerts, there’d be a little more of this, but other than those occasions, usually you’re the very elegant type. So today, looking at you gave me a huge surprise.
ZS: What left a deeper impression on me is that feeling of protection coming from teacher A Zhe. I thought, aiya, if I were the one singing with teacher A Zhe, I’d also feel a very large gush of strength coming from him, consistently supporting you to sing. For example, in the middle *looks at LKQ and MC* teacher A Zhe was rapping, right? In that moment, you’d think eh? Is this some kind of support for the part coming after? You’d constantly feel teacher A Zhe’s very strong arm behind you -- you feel like you can lean on it.
c. S2E10: Commenting on Rong Zu Er and Xilinnayi Gao’s second performance, which was a song in Cantonese:
LKQ (to XLNYG): It was really good. When you sang, I tried closing my eyes, and I could totally understand what you were singing. It was really good. Really very good.
ZS: Yes, I can testify. As soon as they finished singing, he said to me: “oh, her Cantonese was very good!”
d. S2E10 Extras: Backstage scenes, Qin Shen Shen reunion and rehearsals. Zhou Shen goes to find Li Keqin in his backstage room:
ZS, listening at the door and hearing LKQ rehearse their song in there: Oh. (to the camera) He’s practicing in there! *prepares to open the door but stops midway* A Cantonese speaker practicing a song in Cantonese -- how to interpret this? Is that a jab at me?
ZS finally opens the door, crosses the long hallway separating the outer door from the actual backstage room, and waits by the inner door without announcing himself. LKQ is still sitting at a table in there, singing. ZS waits for the right timing before singing along with him.
LKQ, noticing him and standing up: HEEEY!
ZS: *jumps into the room, hopping towards LKQ* LONG TIME NO SEEEEE!
LKQ: Long time no see, long time no see-
LKQ turns off the music on his phone and ZS goes for a hug.
LKQ, patting his back: Aiyoooo. *lets go and immediately backs away* Hey. Actually, don’t come too close to me. (ZS: Huh?) My throat kind of hurts today.
ZS: Oh, okay. *sprints all the way across the hallway and past the outer door, speaking from there* TEACHER KEQIN, HAVE YOU BEEN DOING OKAY?? (LKQ laughs)
LKQ: I’ve been okay. (ZS laughs and comes back to the table)  I’ll be relying on you later on.
ZS: What’s that, relying on me?? We’re relying on you!
ZS tries to grab LKQ to make him sit back down, but LKQ dodges him:
ZS: It’s okay, sit, sit, sit (LKQ, pointing at his chair: No, you sit down there, I...) Sit! ....No worries! I’ll sit a little further away from you. (LKQ: I...Ok, let’s do it like that)
LKQ sits down, while ZS takes a seat a little distance away.
ZS: Aren’t you thinking too much about my well-being? *exagerratedly* I’m so touched!
LKQ: The sore throat problem comes as soon as I have to sing...
ZS: Isn’t it always like that? Has it happened to you before? I feel like for me, it’s always - often like that.
LKQ: Maybe this thing (as in singing on the show) is giving me too much pressure. *blinks exaggeratedly, as if troubled*
ZS: No way! What pressure??? (LKQ: *guffaws*) Jeez!! Teacher Keqin do you know about a term that’s recently being used a lot -- it’s called “Versailles”. That means...exactly what you said just now “Oh, I don’t know, I feel like coming to sing here gives me a lot of pressure”... That’s called “Versailles literature”. Because even though your singing is clearly at the top already, and really good, you’d still say to everyone “Singing makes me very stressed”. *pouts*
LKQ: After a year, do you still have to talk about those things? (T/N: Not clear what he’s referring to)
ZS, wide-eyed: ?? After a year, your Ma- your Mandarin....?? (LKQ laughs) It’s becoming worse and worse! What have you been doing?! *laughs* Teacher Keqin, lately you haven’t been speaking much in Mandarin, have you?
LKQ: No I haven’t! I’ve been in HK constantly. (Both laugh) Well, yeah! What opportunity did I have to come here? (i.e. public health restrictions)
ZS, face instantly falling: Mmm... (LKQ: That’s right....)
ZS, changing subject: Hey, teacher Keqin, have you been watching this season of “Wo Men De Ge”? (LKQ: I have) Ooh? Aren’t a lot of your good friends here? *smiles slyly*
LKQ: A lot of them! (ZS: Yeah.) I really like that newcomer.
ZS: Ohh, which one?
LKQ: Alan Tam *laughs*
ZS: ......I also really like that “newcomer”. *looks at camera* Can I say it like that? (to LKQ) You can say it like that, but can I?
LKQ just giggles.
ZS: Eh, is there anyone in the young singers this time that you’d like to collaborate with?
LKQ: They’re all very good, in my opinion.
ZS: Then go to them! *unimpressed look* Why only sing with me?
LKQ, looking up and scratching his neck: No, no. I think this--
ZS: You can’t make up for what you said anymore. Just go find them and sing a duet with them. (LKQ: No, no, no, no, no, no-) I’m not listening anymore. *stands up*
LKQ, with a sigh: Ehh!
ZS, heading out: I’m leaving. *waves* Bye bye.
LKQ tries to speak, but ZS makes it to the door.
ZS: Take care. *scoffs and shuts the door behind him* BYEEE.
LKQ follows him, mildly tired.
LKQ: A handful. (to the camera, while pointing at the closed door) What a handful. *opens the door to follow ZS* That little friend is such a handful.
As LKQ steps out, in the background, you can hear ZS say to someone “Waiting for teacher Keqin to come out”.
LKQ: Eh.
ZS, going to him: It’s okay now! *laughs*
Both hold each other by the shoulder as they head outside.
e. S2E10 Extras: Onstage rehearsals for Fu Shi Shan Xia.
Staff (to LKQ): Do you need the lyrics on the screen to be any bigger?
LKQ: It’s ok. I am not Alan Tam, I don’t need them to be too big.
ZS, who’s next to him: !!!!! *speaks to the audience* Teacher Tam, you saw this didn’t you? You saw it all...
LKQ (to ZS): The bigger the position (in the industry), the bigger the lyrics are on the screen.
ZS: Then mine should be *motions with his fingers to mean that it’s tiny, and LKQ imitates him, giggling*
The staff tries to arrange LKQ’s earphone monitor, but LKQ is not getting any feedback. Meanwhile, ZS just waits, leaning on and using LKQ’s shoulder as an armrest.
LKQ (to the staff): Ah, now the feedback’s gone again. It’s gone again on this side...
ZS (to LKQ): If you listen to it with your heart, you’ll hear it.  (LKQ: What?)
LKQ: ...Does this have anything to do with you to start with?
ZS: Whoa! ... In a year, you’ve become fierce.
LKQ: Not so~..... (ZS: Really?) I’ve always been very fierce. *laughs*

LKQ examines the stage props onstage, which look like blocks of fake ice(?). ZS wanders close by.
ZS (to no one in particular): *sighs* Is there dry ice?.....Eh? Earlier on, there wasn’t even dry ice. One only smiles at the new. *laughs to himself* (T/N: Not sure about this last one, sorry but I guess he means ‘the nice treatment only goes to the new people huh’)
ZS, later (to LKQ): If we come again in the 3rd season, we’ll have to sing and dance. Because there’ll be no stage design, no dry ice, no dancers. (LKQ nods) There’ll be nothing. Maybe we’ll even have to play the music ourselves. Are you ready?
