Calling all fic writers, artists & questies out there!

Do you love the things you've made? You should! You put in time and effort and creativity and all that other good stuff into your work, you should be proud!

This Valentine's Day, we're not going to run a writing challenge but we are going to celebrate love. So, start thinking about the favourite moments of love you ever wrote, or the favourite romantic or steamy piece of fanart you've made, and on the 14th, share it again. Share your favourite quote or passage from it. Share the reasons why you love what you made.

You can tag it #tanth'amour if you post it on tumblr, and share the love via reblogs.

And/or, you can add your fics to the collection, tanth'amour, as a way to group them all together.

Also - you decide how you define love. Explicit or chaste, adoring or fiery or whatever. Share your hottest smut, share your yearning, share your softest domestic moments - anything goes so long as you tag it.

@spybrarian put together the Tanth'Amour rec challenge for Feb 14th, and the prompt was for writers to rec their own fics that they found most romantic. I've written lots of more-conventional Tanthamore romance, and I love that and am proud of it, but - sometimes the freakiest sex takes the deepest trust, the strongest foundation. There's a romance there that's really dear to my heart.

Happy Tanth'amour Day - a day to share some self-love for fics in honor of Valentine's Day!

I wrote canyon views and tavern brews over a year ago now! Little did I know at the time the community I would find in tanthamore and Willow and everything that came from deciding to write fanfic again after a 4+ year hiatus.

I love this little two-shot and was a great first foray into tanthamore! A canon-compliant first kiss ❤️

Jade Claymore/Kit Tanthalos, Vampire au, M-rated

“Kit?”

Kit gasped at the voice that came through the line. It was unmistakably Jade's voice but she sounded hoarse. There was a hesitancy with the way she said her name, almost like Jade was nervous or maybe hurt. Was there someone there with her? Were they hurting her?

Kit was trembling, whether with rage or panic or both it was hard to say. She choked back a sob, rushing to respond, “Yea, Jade it's-it's me, please. Where are you?”

“Kit I- I think I need help, something's wrong.”

Kit's emotions were getting the best of her, so overwhelmed she was beginning to question if any of this was real. What a cruel dream it would turn out to be if so, “What's wrong Jade?”

Kit shivered at what her best friend said next, “I need you, Kit.”

Inhaling deeply, Kit tried to stop her head from spinning, she had been holding her breath subconsciously and was beginning to get dizzy, “Do you know where you are? Any landmarks or roads you remember? I can wake up Elora and Arik and we can come get you.”

“No,” Jade seemed to hiss softly, “No one else, just you. I just need you.”

The forcefulness behind Jade's voice surprised Kit but she wasn't about to argue. Already stumbling around her room, Kit grabbed the first pair of shoes she saw and tried to slip her feet in, “Jade, what happened?” She asked, the anxiety creeping up her neck the longer Jade seemed to be avoiding her question.

The line went silent for a beat, then two and Kit almost screamed in frustration until Jade returned suddenly, fearfully “…I was taken.” she whispered.

Kit was astutely aware of her heart beating harder and harder in her chest at hearing that, shaking with a newfound rage Kit managed to grit out, “By who?”

“A monster.”

For Tanth'amour day here I chose my fic Burn it All Down which was a blast to write because I got to learn new things and show my love for Tanthamore, nature, and fire dramas. 🔥

This fic is a firefighter/conspiracy thriller Tanthamore fic with Station 19 influence (and characters!).

Kit and Jade have dreamed of being firefighters since they were children but as they progress through their careers (and process their slow burn 🔥🔥🔥 romance) they uncover a conspiracy linking both their families to a dangerous secret ready to set their worlds ablaze.🚒🚒🚒

“Get ready, this looks like a rough one,” Kase, the driver and acting captain warned them, cutting into the conversation. “Tanthalos head office. The big building on Elgin and Hamlet.”

A jolt shot through her but Jade pushed it down as best as she could. She felt Boorman’s eyes boring into her and stared out the window at the flashes of buildings passing by, chewing anxiously on her cheek. Any excitement she’d had about the situation vanished like dry pine caught in a spark.

“It’s not even nine, she won’t be in,” she reminded them and maybe herself too.

Happy valentines day my homos and homies ♡

I thought I'd share the love a little and give you a sneak peak at one of my drafts. It's inspired by take me to church from Hozier

'Everything about Kit was sharp. Her features, her voice, her movments. But in the dim light from the candle sitting on her bedside, she's soft. When Jade looms over her the hard exterior she works so hard to keep up melts away. Leaving nothing more than a girl who wants to held and told she isn't as doomed as she feels. Someone whos chasing a high she never wants to come down from.'

'Jade was tightly wound beyond comprehension. Carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders works up a hunger. A need. So when her mind goes blank and she let's loose underneath the hold of her princess it's intoxicating. Violence isn't the answer in Jade's mind, never was. But when it's Kit on the line she doesn't care about the morals she cares about the goal. If it wasn't for the hundreds of eyes upon them at the ball she would've done something, laid her claim on the princess.'

'Pressing a kiss to her knuckles while Kit's turned around Jade lets out a shaky breath. Her hands weren't made for this, not for hurting Kit. They were made to caress the curve of her cheeks, to push the hair out her eyes, or to rub the tension from her shoulders. Made to make her feel safe. And when the sun sets across the kingdom they're made for exploring her body. For being cupped over Kit's mouth to keep the symphony of noises for herself. Made for being flushed against her in the most sinful way.'

For Tanth'amour - here's an except from Firelight, warm as a kiss (AO3 link, Jade Claymore/Kit Tanthalos, E-rated)

Sitting in this copper bath by the fire together, all Kit can think (between dull bursts of pain) is how badly she’d like Jade to stroke her hand effortlessly through Kit’s hair. And then down her back. And over her shoulders and down her arms. And around her stomach. And maybe up over her breasts as well. Maybe. If Jade would want to.

She really hopes Jade wants to.

She’s so, so aware that all she needs to do to feel Jade’s naked chest pressed against her back is to lean backward, just a little. She can imagine how soft Jade will be, made even softer by the steaming, scented water, and – screw it, you know? They fought their way to the edge of the world and back, why shouldn’t Kit indulge a little?

“Kit, I wasn’t quite finished,” Jade says, as Kit’s head suddenly leans back to rest on Jade’s collarbones, her still-tangled hair dipping beneath the water.

“Yeah, I know, but…” Kit says, as her hands drift up to Jade’s knees which are poking out of the water on either side of Kit’s body. Kit’s palms slide down the outside of Jade’s strong, warm thighs, and press Jade’s legs in against Kit’s. She’s also so, so aware that Jade’s legs are… open, like this, and right against her back. She’s trying to gather her courage to turn around. “Hair can wait, right?”

Jade’s voice has a smile to it, and a rich, sweet flavour of indulgent desire. “Hair can wait,” she agrees, and dips her head to nuzzle Kit’s to one side, so she can kiss Kit’s cheek, and the dimple that appears the instant Kit smiles. That dimple stays there, firmly in place, as Jade kisses a path down Kit’s neck and lingers there on the top of Kit’s shoulder, almost like she’s forgotten how to kiss.

“Jade Claymore,” Kit says, feeling bold despite the warm flush she feels creeping up her face and down her chest. Her chest which is… floating, a little, the gentle curves of the top of her breasts caught by the golden firelight. “Are you ogling me?”

She can feel Jade smile against her skin. “Maybe,” Jade admits, managing to sound coy about it, and then, with a gravity that pulls Kit’s heart toward her as sure as the moons do the tide: “You’re the most beautiful thing I ever saw, you know? I can’t take my eyes off you.”
