Tate listened as she explained how she was handling the situation. He wasn't exactly sure what to expect for an answer. Some people couldn't handle the situation, some could, it sounded simple even if it wasn't. "It seems like a reasonable question to ask people, then again you're the first person I have asked. I was just curious because you seem to be handling it pretty well. Right, right, Bella not Isabella." He nodded as he looked down at the girl.
He smiled as he listened to her laugh. So far he hadn't really heard many people laugh, it was refreshing. As they walked Tate played with the items in his pocket and looked around. The silence wasn't very awkward but he felt slightly better when she broke the silence. He looked up towards the broken tree house she had pointed to and then looked down at her. "Oh this should be very interesting." Tate pulled his hands out of his pockets and walked over to the tree. "Ladies first,"

Rice, beans, maybe a baked potato. Shit man, I want food.
Yeah, if only I got to spend one last time with her, with a side of rice and beans. Damn, now I’m hungry.

Damn, you didn't get any cooked dog.
Maybe. I’m just upset that I wasn’t invited.

Maybe it was invited to a cookout.
Fuck no. It ran off a long time ago. Probably got shot or eaten or some shit.

Is it still alive?
It is a pleasure. Huh, I had a dog named Tate once. She was great.

Pleasure I'm sure. I'm Tate.
What you said before convinced me otherwise, but no worries. Anyway, hello, I’m Gabe.

What does this charm necklace look like exactly?
If I could, I would sleep all day, I would… but unfortunately, I have to look for my charm necklace. Has anyone seen it, like anywhere?

Wouldn't really call that nice.
Scenery’s nice. Vast lands of rubble and shit.

Tate's eyes followed the path to where Bella's finger pointed. The first thing he saw was the tree and a little path that looked as if it hadn't been fixed in years. He looked down at the girl and gave a slight nod, "sounds like a good idea. Maybe we'll run into the boogie man." Tate let out a brief laugh to himself as he ran his hands through his hair. He quickly slid his hands back into his pockets and shrugged.
"So, Isabella. How are you handling this whole situation? I suppose I should ask, it's probably the most proper question," he asked as he turned around and started walking backwards in the direction she had chosen.

It's better than rain.
I don't really do that whole "get to know people" thing, but hey. There's a first time for everything I suppose.
At least the weather’s nice.
You know… now would be a good time to get to know each other.

Couldn’t you do something entertaining then?

Tate closed his eyes and tilted his head back against the tree. He hadn't slept in days which made it hard for him to stay away, but he wanted to explore. Once he heard a young women's voice he opened his eyes and tilted his head forward once more to view the women.
"It's alright, perfectly alright," he replied to the girl. He watched as she made her way to him. Tate pushed himself off the tree and looked down at the girl before taking a quick look around. "As ready as ever," he forced a friendly smile and shrugged. "Which way would you like to go?"

You have post-it stamps? Where? I want them. I’ll stick them all over my face. That’s the best.
