This year I decided I wanted to honor the incredibly talented fic writers of this fandom, so I chose one fic per prompt to do an illustration for. I didn’t double up on authors so that I could do this for as many people as possible. I realized while planning this that there are way too many fics and authors that I love, and even after having picked 30 of what I consider some of my very favorites, I could have easily kept going. i know people make these kinds of posts with fictional characters a lot but like. hank green truly is one of The Most Guys Ever. like. he's one of the earliest youtubers who is still on there. he's a 43-year-old tiktok star. he's a science educator. he got cancer and his response was to make a tier list of the press's coverage of his cancer announcement. the president of the united states sent him a message of support and he told the president that he was pissing out the cancer. years earlier he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and his response was to write a polka song about it. he created vidcon. he's the ceo of a company that produces a shitton of educational series (well, not acting ceo at the moment due to the aforementioned cancer). his guitar says "this machine pwns n00bs" on it. he invented 2D glasses. one of his earliest videos to get popular was about animal sex. between him and his brother, he was known as "the science one" (or "the music one") while his brother was "the writer one," and then he wrote two new york times bestselling novels. his most controversial opinion is that butt is legs. he's done so many things that there is a website dedicated to counting the number of days since he started a new thing. he and his brother use their internet following to (among other things) fight maternal/infant mortality in sierra leone. he has a baked bean furby. hes even bisexual

WIP Wednesday

My first WIP Wednesday???? I think it is! Thank you for the tag @martsonmars! I actually made progress on something just yesterday, so here goes nothing.

I’ve been stewing on this fic for a while. Without giving away too much, it’s basically domestic fluff. It started as a Shepard-focused idea, yet when I started writing yesterday, Baz came out instead. But that’s ok… Shep’s time is coming…

Anyway, here’s Baz:

He’s standing there mixing the dough, smiling from ear to ear, talking about… something. I’m not really listening, and he often doesn’t need me to. Sometimes he just likes to talk and is happy to have me around to be his captive audience. It doesn’t matter if I respond, it just matters that I’m there. Once I catch wind that he’s just talking to talk, I quickly find myself tuning out the words and simply enjoying the sound of his voice, the light in his curls, the life in his eyes.

Oookayyyy that’s all. Let’s hope I have something new in time for the next post! Or, you know, not. Tags under the cut.

Wednesday again, eh? Well, happy WIP Wednesday and thanks for the tags @hushed-chorus @ivelovedhimthroughworse @imagineacoolusername @aroace-genderfluid-sheep and @forabeatofadrum, and for brightening my day with your work. It's so friggin cold here (WHY?) and I'm suffering, but you all have fortified me.

Progress continues to be made on Ch 2 of my Simon and Baz attend a wedding fic. I made it through a section that was giving me trouble yesterday. Have a wee bit of that, Baz POV:

“Just go, Snow,” I say.  He looks at me, hard. Considering. I scowl back, trying to not to squirm under his gaze as Nessa’s wandering hand travels further up my chest, over the buttons of my shirtfront. There’s no way out for me now. Not without insulting her and embarrassing my father, and if I have to suffer through this I’d rather do it without Snow’s audience.  “No,” he says. “For fuck’s sake, you oaf–” “No. I– I do want to cut in, actually.” “What?” Nessa and I say in unison.  “I’ve already told you I don’t want to dance with you, you mongrel,” she squawks. Snow steps between us anyway.  “Not with you,” he grunts. And, to my everlasting shock, it’s me he reaches for.
