Something about this time of year always makes me want to re-watch all of Satoshi Kons work. Paprika was the first movie of his I ever came across, so it holds a soft spot in my heart.

thinking on this again and realized my ideal adaptation of this would be a Satoshi Kon style film or series

most of the way through hill house and im wondering how a standard horror show was made out of it?

#maybe this last little bit will change my mind #but as it stands eleanor feels like a very unreliable narrator and i think interesting stuff could be done with that #im thinking of the paprika hallway or the detectives paper cutout area in paranoia agent yknow #i need to watch kons stuff again its so good #now that im thinking of the comparison eleanor is a little like tsukiko #maybe just in demeanor and mental state though #its been a while since ive seen it

#like screenshots ive seen im just kind of??? #like a lot of the scares are obscured (the knocking + the thing eleanor was holding hands with in the dark) so idk how there would be #run of the mill horror movie ghosts? #im curious how the scene where nell and theo run through the picnic is adapted #for some reason i pictured like.. a paint on glass type of look there but i doubt it dabbles in animation at all lol #let alone something so time intensive #then again take all this with a the grain of salt of i dont watch horror #except for bad horror normally
