a breathy, blushy "oh...thank you..." in response to (pick a favorite):
-being blessed
-being handed a tissue/handkerchief
-someone physically helping them hold back a sneeze

A character with a mouth of sharp teeth that their friends often forget the character even possesses (because character's just so friendly or gentle or soft-spoken) but then the friends are promptly reminded of The Truth when the character's lips draw back over their gums and their mouth shivers with the need to sneeze for long enough that everyone gets a good look at those chompers and are like "holy shit. Forgot about those 😬"
And then the character finally gets their sneeze and in a blink they're back to being their familiar soft self (but why is everyone staring at them funny now??)

Word: persistent
Somebody with a persistent itch high in one nostril that is making them sneeze, but it keeps peaking too soon and coming out as this weak little "hH'tsch!" that does nothing but make their eyes water a little.
They're convinced- they know- if they could get themselves to sneeze properly they could scratch this itch and not be interrupting themselves every 10 minutes with the world's most anticlimactic proto-sneeze. But they're at work, and they're definitely not going to try to make this happen at their desk, and they're not sure they have the courage to slip off to the bathroom and risk somebody walking in on them as they provoke what could be anything from a single huge sneeze to a no-holds-barred sneezing fit in a space that echoes like the inside of a bell.
But this itch. It's driving them mad and no amount of rubbing at their nose can get near it. They can't concentrate on anything else. Clocking-out time can't come soon enough.

I love you “reading sneezefic when I don’t know what the pop culture character looks like,” I love you “imagining whatever I want in place of the pop culture character,” I hate you “finally seeing a picture of this character and realizing they are not attractive to me”

A relationship in which one person has the fetish and is often away on business. They have those couple bracelets where when person A presses a button on their bracelet, person B’s bracelet lights up, as if to say “I’m thinking about you,” and vice versa. Except person A has been instructed to only press the button once for every time they sneeze, so sometimes person B will be in a meeting, maybe even leading the meeting, and all of a sudden they notice their bracelet is lighting up like crazy................

someone who's been frustrated by a stuck sneeze all day eventually getting to sneeze, with a relieved, breathy “god, finally” afterwards, and their partner says “so that's why you've been so cranky today.”

ooh, could I see ❄️ for Arkady please?
Tumblr media
Thanks, both of you, for your interest! And I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the stories, anon, I enjoyed writing them. Now:
❄️: Does your character usually catch a cold from the weather? How bad does the rain/snow/wind have to be before they become ill? How long do they have to stay out in it? Arkady’s kingdom, Gornoye, is in the mountains and they can have some pretty serious winters because of this. But the Gornoye people are quite hearty, too, and Arkady is no exception. He’s made it through many winters without getting sick at all, particularly the harsh ones. Gornoye takes cold weather seriously, and much of their fashion reflects this. The mindset is that if you can see through the weather, it can’t really be that bad. But that means that during a lighter winter, Arkady tends to underestimate just how much he’s really capable of, and playing with his younger siblings in the snow or walking around outside in the wrong clothing leads to him catching a minor cold. He’s the sort to get really sniffly and pink-nosed and sporadically sneezy during the whole thing without getting so ill that he needs to be laid up in bed. It’s more of an annoyance than anything else. He also tends to underestimate rain.
🤲🏻: How likely are they to take care of someone because they are sick? Are they a natural caretaker, or do they have to be forced into the position? On the flipside, how do they react when being taken care of? Are they needy, or do they refuse help except when absolutely necessary?
Being a prince, Arkady has been rather privileged in that there has always been a doctor available to look after him or the people that he cares about. So while he is certainly concerned if someone he loves falls ill, Arkady’s learned the best thing to do is stand out of the way and let the healers do their work. I think he is definitely a better caretaker than a patient, though. If someone he's close to is stuck in bed, he’ll visit them and read to them or entertain them somehow, or just sit with them if that’s all the sick person is capable of just then. He likes to cheer people up.
As a patient, Arkady is... hmm. Hesitant? He doesn’t love to be coddled or looked after, but he isn’t stubbornly opposed either. He hates worrying people. He’ll take medicine and rest as advised, but when he’s feeling better, he’s feeling better, and he doesn’t want to be treated like an invalid anymore. Arkady will concede defeat to a logical argument (i.e. “you still have a fever, you shouldn’t be out and about” “you don’t want someone else to catch it, stay in bed”). He doesn’t care to be fussed over, though he will tolerate a certain degree of fussing if he has just gotten over something particularly bad. He knows it comes with the territory of being a prince and of course just having people in his life who love him.

OC SNZFIC Q&A (COLD EDITION)
❄️: Does your character usually catch a cold from the weather? How bad does the rain/snow/wind have to be before they become ill? How long do they have to stay out in it?
🤲🏻: How likely are they to take care of someone because they are sick? Are they a natural caretaker, or do they have to be forced into the position? On the flipside, how do they react when being taken care of? Are they needy, or do they refuse help except when absolutely necessary?
🤧: What do they wipe/blow their nose with? A handkerchief? A sleeve? A tissue? Do they use it a lot?
🤐: How likely are they to mask their symptoms? Do they do a good job? Can other people tell if they are sick, or do you need to be really close to them to know?
🔥: How high do their fevers get? Do they break easily, or do they last a long time? Do they become delirious, or just tired?
💥: How loud are their sneezes? Are they tiny and stifled, or explosive and painful?
☺️: How much do they enjoy being sick? Do they like staying home from school/work, or do they feel guilty about not being productive? Do they need to be forced into being taken care of/taking care of themselves?
👀: Do they or their partners look forward to their sneezes? Is this a secret, or is it relatively well known?
📆: How prolonged are their sneezes? Do they hitch for a while before finally sneezing, or do they sneeze almost right away? How likely is it that their sneeze will “ghost” them?
😷: How germaphobic are they? Will they steer clear of anyone who is sick, or do they make pretty unhygienic choices? Or maybe they just don’t care?
👃🏻: What sound does there sneeze make? Is it a short little “Itchew!” or more of a “HIDNXH!”
Feel free to reblog and ask your favorite snz creators about their OCs!

A human character hiding from a creature that they believe wants to harm them. Meanwhile, not only does the actually-benevolent creature know exactly where the human is, they’re finding the human’s increasingly desperate attempts not to sneeze pretty funny

other, less-common reasons for a long build up:
-usually they can stop their sneeze dead in it's tracks no problem but this one just keeps slipping out of their control, ugh, this is embarrassing
-usually they can't hold back their sneeze at all but this time they're trying very VERY hard and they've almost fought it off, almost............
-usually they sneeze easily but right now it's not coming, what is taking so long? hello??
-this is just how it is. Every Time. don't ask why, they don't know, but they're sorry about it, it'll be over soon.... probably....... sorry....
thinking about how a long build-up tends to mean one of two very opposite things: that the person in question is either really good at delaying their sneeze or they’re totally at their nose’s mercy and have no control over the situation whatsoever
