So I decided this will just be my random spew blog. I'll record my thoughts here as I have them(only occasionally) and I'll put my interesting stuff elsewhere. That okay?
- I never once changed this for many a year. I thought I was going to put...
Love the argument "oh but if you transition you'll have to deal with being trans your whole life" because first of all there is nothing bad about being trans and second I'm still gonna be trans even if I don't medically transition I'll just be trans and miserable instead of trans and happy
The urban fantasy show I actually want to see is a hospital drama with a dedicated wing for supernatural illnesses.
Vampirism. Lycanthropy. Cheap spells gone wrong. A woman brought in for her prenatal has to be told her baby is a lindworm. Someone is literally being followed by the anthropomorphic personification of the Black Death.
Someone somewhere out there is having their perception of the world irreparably shattered by the knowledge that magic is real, and at the other side is a team of doctors who have to roll their eyes and pull out Grimm’s Complete Fairy Tales because some high school kid tried to go Carrie with a cheap spellbook and turn all the kids at prom into frogs, and the doctors have to wrangle a couple dozen teenagers into admitting if they have a true love who can break the spell.
People who object to trans people being in fantasy are wild. As though some silly-hatted alchemist wouldn't simply invent Almazar's Gender Fluid in an afternoon and distribute it to every dungeon chest in the land. It's Common on the loot table and half the goblins drop it. You can brew it yourself with three mushrooms and eight snail shells. It sells for 1 copper at the merchant because the supply is so abundant. You fool. You melon. You absolute buffoon. The limits of what you are willing to imagine are an epitaph you wrote for your own freedom.
i know hearing people on this website love to pass around those posts with links to free sign language lessons but you know you need to actually put effort into learning about Deaf culture, too, right?
i think it’s really funny to say “oh anyone can edit wikipedia” trying to discredit the info on there. and well that’s definitely true and like. check sources, obviously. but y’all know that people are straight up vicious over wikipedia pages, right? people claim pages and stick to them and monitor them constantly. there’s a watchlist feature on wikipedia that notifies users when a change is made to a page they’re watching. all of notable wiki pages for celebrities and historical events probably have watchers. people get REALLY into watching wiki pages and making sure people don’t add dumb shit to them. and like. obviously that doesn’t stop misinfo. but the whole “anyone can edit a wikipedia page” thing is like. a little bit of a half truth. because you’re right! anyone can. but popular pages and political pages are often thoroughly vetted and watched.
