something I think about a lot is ed and stede learning they're safe to unmask around each other. like stede was bullied and ed learned right quick what was acceptable and unacceptable behavior, and they are very slowly going to learn that they don't have to stop themselves as soon as they realize they're stimming or just suck things up that make them uncomfortable. one day stede's gonna tell ed that their current couch makes him feel like ants are crawling all over him and instead of ed laughing at him and telling him he's being crazy and stupid they are gonna move the couch out of their house and get a new one.
