"Quick, quick
Tell me something awful
Like you are a poet trapped inside the body of a finance guy"
Do we need anymore proof that Karlie Kloss is the love of Taylor Swift's life?

Speaking of Spotify track visuals . . . the one for The Alchemy is Taylor and Post Malone touching hands in the Fortnight music video. The lovers reunited out of the glass closet.
A lot of these visuals aren't captures from the music video, so it's kind of weird this one is. Right? It could have been a football field or a trophy or something. But instead Taylor used this image. A love interest who I don't think even the Swiffers are pretending is supposed to represent Travis? Funny, that. If the song is so "obviously" about him.

Spade I’m not sure if anyone else feels this way but has anyone else had to stop listening to the album? The story it’s telling is so devastating it was sending to me to such a dark place in my mind. It’s a beautiful album but so fucking sad when you actually understand it. I hope our girls can follow through with their plans this time and nothing gets in their way. I hope they know we’re all rooting for them no matter what 💗
Just remember that they are thriving privately.

just realized that in The Manuscript she uses the pronoun "she" throughout the entire song until the end where she says "now and then i reread the manuscript" because she's literally READING THE MANUSCRIPT TO US

So hang on, hang on, lemme make sure I’m getting this right. So she’s in a psych ward. In a wedding gown. And she takes the “miracle move on drug” the “forget him” pill of which the effects are temporary. Right, right. And then she’s set free, and immediately walks into a sterile office in a VICTORIAN MOURNING gown! And sits down to start working away on her typewriter. She’s writing, and she loves her muse, and it’s ruining her life. Okay. And then she and the muse are laying on the papers, in love. The pages of her work, her diary, her songs, THE FILES!! And they’re together, and the pages are flying around them, blocking them from the camera, okay? You still with me? She reaches for the muse and then she’s getting electric shock therapy?? With curly hair?? Okay. Okay. And again, loving the muse is ruining her life. And all the doctors, the people closest to her, run away scared when the electricity short circuits or whatever, and the muse is the only one who notices and stops it from killing her!!! The muse is in a (glass) phone booth, and Taylor is sitting right on top, but out of view from the muse. And they are in the middle of NOWHERE. The rust that grew between telephones??? And then we’re back in the office, and she’s pulling all the files out of the drawers!! In the mourning gown again!!! And she’s letting them out, ruining the sterility, and she’s freaking out, sobbing. And then she’s facing the camera, stone cold, letting the files swirl around her, now out in the open ON FIRE I MIGHT ADD. And back in the psych ward in the wedding dress, she breaks the glass to escape, to bolt?? And then, once the files are free, once the glass is broken, once the muse steps out of the glass!! Then she can touch the muse. Then she can touch the muse. Somebody give me an oxygen mask, holy shit

I don't know if anyone's talked about How Did It End yet but here's my interpretation:
This song is about bearding, which isn't surprising since a LOT of songs on this (these?) album(s) have been about bearing, being in the public eye and the pressure of that. What interests me in this are the following lyrics:
Tumblr media
"He was the hothouse flower to my outdoorsman."
This line does 3 things (I love the LAYERS in this album!!!)
1) it puts her into the role of the man again. Her highlighting that she is absolutely willing to be the man in her music, showing yet again that she plays with gender and to not trust that she's singing about an actual man just because the pronouns are different.
2) the way this line places her and her beard into very stereotypical queer contexts. Gay men are seen as delicate, limp wristed, often referred to as "pansies". Then gay women are seen as outdoorsy, masculine, "dykes".
3) this also might be in reference to how new Joe was in the industry when they started out.
Tumblr media
Taylor was meant to tend to Joe's celebrity status through their bearding contract.
Next we have "our maladies were such we could not cure them" which is SUCH a line. Considering all of the asylum/tortured poet themes of this album and how that relates to queerness as some sort of disease. A mental illness to be "cured" in the eyes of the entertainment industry.
Finally "and a touch that was my birthright became foreign". This breaks my heart. As a queer women she was born the way she was. Wanting to be with women. But because of the pressures of the industry she was forced to hide that desire from the world, to pretend that a woman's touch is foreign.
The song's chorus is then about the public eye. How the show is watched by the public, the fake empathy. They love the drama of the public persona: the boyfriend eater, the heartbreak princess. Meanwhile Taylor is trapped in this endless cycle of showmanship forcing her to hide her real love.

"Three Republicans on Wednesday joined Democrats in the Arizona House to vote to repeal the state's controversial 1864 ban on nearly all abortions, which was revived by a court ruling earlier this month and which only includes exceptions to save the life of the pregnant woman.
The final vote was 32-28.
The bill now heads to the state Senate where it could be taken up next week."
