I noticed that video creators I follow will sometimes release a video under one title and then change it to a different title a few days later. Why is that?

On YouTube 99% of how well a video does comes down to title and thumbnail, so it's good to try and optimise it using the realtime clickthrough data they give us

I've really enjoyed your appearances on Lateral with Tom Scott! I had a question about the neon sign in your video background - is "pleasure & determination" a reference to the definition of utilitarianism? That's the only context where I could find that exact phrase when I web searched it.

I just rewatched your video Violence and Protest (for obvious reasons) and

A. I'm a huge fan of the red scarf look when you talked about the French revolution. A cute and fun detail, which isn't surprising but very good.

B. Do you still edit and do the captions yourself? If so, why haven't you taken an editor? Not asking to be mean, I Love how your videos look rn. I'm just wondering if it's a principal or circumstance

I still do all the editing on the main episodes myself, yes - I like it! It's an important part of the creative process and it's often where the magic happens, plus I want my audience to be able to feel that I did it personally.

The livestream highlight reels are edited by an external team, paid for by the superchats from the streams

And the English captions are done by me yes :)

As a sort of follow up question to recent answer you posted, would it be okay to he/him season 2 character appearances like the arsonist or tom gently? Of course when referencing you, the narrator of a video, we would say Abigail and she/her, but I was curious how you feel about it in regards to your characters.

do you ever wish you made a video later than you did? I was rewatching your video about violence and protest and was like “wow this is so relevant to the current pro-Palestine protests” and it made me wonder how the video would’ve been different had it been made today, rather than two years ago

Sometimes, but that's always gonna be the case, right? It's nice that people go back to them and continue applying the concepts from each episode

As an actress do you find it helpful or detrimental to read up the source version of a character you will be adapting in a role?

I've only ever been asked to do that once, and it was a useful introduction to the character and her world, though my job when I get on set is to serve the text, the scene, my fellow actors, and the project as a whole

New Philosophy Tube coming this week to Nebula!

Finished the editing on the Nebula cut much faster than I thought I would! It's rendering now. Just gotta do things like the subtitles and the thumbnail now, and a few other bits and bobs like the blooper reel etc.

It's about Judith Butler and it's about 75 minutes long.

The YouTube cut will probably arrive the following week: takes a bit more work to do the subtitles and the additional editing on that version. $15+ Patrons will get to see that cut early!

I know you’ve been wanting to hold off on saying anything about The Acolyte until it comes out, but with the new trailer can you at least say if you can be seen in any of the trailers (I’ve tried to look for you but with makeup it may be hard to tell).

I don't think so - I doubt I would be, it's a very small role
