All you see is light and whiteness, and you don’t know where you are, or what you’re supposed to do. You remember a long dream, fields of daffodils and dewy meadows, and a voice deep and haunting like a nightmare.

The Deity of Dreams has awoken.

It's the year 2524, and you're a defeated God/Goddess/Deity in a place and time where your kind is rarely needed anymore. After being locked away and thought to be dead for nearly a millennia, you wake up.

Characters

Dawn (she/her) • THE REBEL

A rebel and a hacker. Possibly the sole reason you’re awake today, too. She hates deities but seems desperate to get rid of the God of War, even if that involves working with you.

Bruno Lee (he/him) • THE HISTORIAN

Bruno may call himself a historian, a curious old soul in search of unveiling the secrets of the past. But given the fact that he's the only other being locked away with you, there must be more to him.

Vex (they/them) • THE CYBORG

Vex—who also goes by V—is a law enforcer who seems to be more metal than flesh. They represent the crude reality that time has moved on without you. Though V claims they're loyal to their God of War, they've been roped along to help their little sister Dawn.

Amara/Aiden/Asher Moonless (she/her he/him or they/them) • THE LOST ONE

Your memory fades and wavers but you remember A (how could you not). You know they're not the same person you were oh so close to so many centuries ago, but their similarities are eerily noticeable.

Estelle ‘Eris’ Lawrence (she/her) • THE CELEBRITY

Also known as The Voice, Eris is an actress, singer and model. She's every teenager’s daydream, the vivid representation of rags to riches. And, according to Dawn, a valuable ally to have by your side.

Seth (he/him) • THE GOD OF WAR

Your killer and enemy. You knew him once, or so you thought. All that your relationship with him got you was a sword through your chest.

The Deal’s has to be Nathan lol. I really fucked him over. Aliyah and Dante are up there but I think Nathan is just so fucked by the narrative (me) kgkdkg

Dropout’s hmm... I'm picking Kai. Wanda and Statler are strong contenders but... Yeah Kai ckkskf. I've been really unfair to them.

And Love Bites is very comedic and lighthearted but I think everyone has a sad backstory to some degree gkkskfks but I'll pick Cyrus.

The Deal first came to be back in 2018 I think. I had just played The Arcana and I fantasized of making a visual novel of my own. The firsts drafts of The Deal thus came to be, and once I grew obsessed with IFs and finally overcame my fear of coding I decided to rewrite it. I really really like Dante's Divina Comedia and just wanted to reimagine it lol + the topic of grief and how different people cope with it is very interesting to me.

Dropout I think I've explained a few times, but I started writing it because of both stress and frustration because of school + my fear of people moving on and leaving me behind. I think it's fun/very healing to write so much pain and to have the possibility to grow from it^^

Love Bites is how I cope from writing angst lol. I've been an intern at a couple offices and really really liked it there (surprisingly). The topic of Human Rights is very interesting to me, so I've always wondered how Monster Rights would work in a slice of life/realistic setting. (I might be wrong but this came from me obsessing with One Piece and the Gyojin species years ago).

+ not really an if I plan to write or outline in a long time but Sed is me coming to peace with Spanish history and the Civil War lol (I was very tormented by it because of my exams). I think not so many people outside of my country have as much context to it as Spaniards do. And it's always fun to Rewrite History^^

Devan (they/them) • THE ONI • 28 years old

Devan embodies the mischievous spirit of an Oni, their playful and curious personality makes them difficult to handle, yet very useful in dynamic environments. Their love for challenges drew them to the office, eager to tackle the complexities of monster and human relations.

Lucian/Leah (he/him or she/her) • THE MERMAID • 25 years old

L's calm and observant personality brings a tranquil presence to the office. As a Mermaid, they contribute a unique perspective on the challenges of both land and sea. L joined to explore new horizons and bridge the gap between underwater and terrestrial life.

Cyrus (he/him or she/her) • THE ZOMBIE • 30 years old

Cyrus defies zombie stereotypes. Their ability to empathize and understand others' emotions makes them an excellent counselor. Cyrus joined the office seeking redemption and a chance to demonstrate that even the undead can contribute positively to society.

With the prologue, the game is now at about 24,000 words in total!

Aside from advancements to the story, the update features new UI and other cosmetic changes. You need to restart your game. If you play from your prologue save, the game will not work.
