I missed my anniversary again! Eleven years ago on May 3rd I quit my day job to be a full-time DJ. I had actually dropped to part-time at my day job more than a decade earlier because DJ life was so hectic, but I had held on to the day job (Shout out to Powell’s Books workers currently fighting for a living wage!) because it was the only semblance of financial stability in my life. I’ve been broke and desperate ever since, but I’ve never once looked for a job, so I guess I find being broke and desperate preferable to working for someone else.
