Sorry Im seeing this a few days late but Im here!

What was a favorite memory you had of going to the show? Its hard to think of one singular show memory but I dont think Ive talked about the night where I chose to hang out with Hecate during the rave and after she briefly took my hand before walking to the bar and then continued to check that I was still there until her next 1:1 so that she could choose me.

What do you miss about the show and the McKittrick Hotel? I miss the way that to me, the hotel feels like home. I miss that in all the crazy that happens living in Manhattan I can always depend on the McKittrick to be the same. I can have the worst day and get to the hotel and be greeted be such lovely familiar faces.

What are some fond memories of your first and last shows? My first show I was terrified. I have really bad social anxiety and it really hit in that setting. After one of the raves I followed out Bald Witch and was slightly panicking. She looked at me, kindly took my hand, held it to her chest for a second while she breathed with me, and then handed me the washcloth to help her clean up. It really helped me feel calm in the space.

My last show was in October 2019, it was a few days after my birthday and I was there with some classmates. It was a wonderful trip from being given a whole boat of stuff from Porter (it was the letter boat with the ring rolled in the map and stuffed in it as a flag, all wrapped in the note from Hecate. I think I posted pictures of it back then.) to a Speakeasy 1:1 where he told me a particularly interesting story about a child getting lost in the woods. To a Speakeasy walkout that I didn’t know would be my last for a while, it was a very good trip.

What’s the first thing you will do when you go back to SNM (IT WILL REOPEN!) I love starting my show at the first ball and then following Boy Witch after. He tends to not have a crowd then and it’s magical to get to see his moment at the luggage counter and be the only one there.

Lady Macduff

Hunter green velvet dress, black Mary Janes, because she is the good girl.

Sexy Witch

A teal halter neck dress, black thin strappy sandals, because she plays naughty.

Bald Witch

A dress in pitch dark steel blue with purple-ish hue, and a pair of black Dr. Martens, because she makes bold choices.

Big white collar, black sheath dress, because she hide her wickedness well.

Agnes Naismith

Tie neck beige blouse, brown plaid midi skirt, retro lace-up boots, because she think she’s a good girl.

Since the McKittrick Hotel is closed indefinitely, I think we should turn it into a Spirit Halloween this year.

I personally like getting brought down by Hecate, there’s something menacing about the way she brings the group that I love.

Also I rarely spend time on the 5th floor but if I do happen to be up there I love following them down.

(There is something fun about wandering down there yourself and deciding which character I want to stand near though.)

How do you like to get taken to the finale?

We all know we get sent to the ballroom at the end of the show, don’t we...audience?

But how do you like to be ushered there?

For me, if I have nothing else going on, you can find me watching the Porter and Danvers sharing a lovely cup of tea. I never get tired of watching that scene.

Bonus: it guarantees you a late arrival to the ballroom if you’re not up for your 6th banquet scene of the night. 🙂

Going through some old photos, I came across these that i believe were included in a magazine feature about the set design of SNM.  (I’ll try to find the photo credit.)

Taxi’s 1:1 creeps me out if it’s done right. And the finale can definitely leave me shaking sometimes. I also once had a Boy Witch make that 1:1 incredibly creepy and it’s one of the best things that’s happened to me in the hotel.

Other than that, It might just be my anxiety and (slight) violence related PTSD but I tend to avoid everything in the Speakeasy from the moment Malcolm, Macduff, and Banquo walk in until Speaks starts cleaning up. On occasion I’ll watch with Fulton or stand near the exit but rarely.

Creepiest scene in the show?

I’ve seen the character and space discussion, but I’m not sure if someone has come up with the creepiest scene question. So I decided to start (if this question’s been asked before, sorry, just ignore me!)

What is the creepiest part of plot you’ve scene in the show?

For me it is when Malcolm tries to do that thing to himself right after he opens the pencil box (if you know, you know). I was pretty new to Sleep No More back then, but had a clear feeling that none of these things were really gonna happen. Still, when he was actually doing that, I froze and began sweating—not because of the temperature I swear!—just by watching him do that. I was literally screaming deep down: “don’t do that you’re gonna die!” And when he finally realized what he was doing and then gave up, I was so relieved.

I can still remember that Malcolm’s face: astonished, not believing, with the unspoken “what the hell was I doing” words. Well, several seconds ago, my face under the mask looked just alike.

A package from Porter

Tonight someone handed Porter a note from Hecate while he was drawing his little map. They left before Porter could react and when he finished his map He handed me a little “package” it was a ring wrapped in the map wrapped in the note. I’ve never seen anyone do this before and I love it.
