The Magician - The Magic is inside you
~ The Magic is Inside You ~
First impression
I’m not sure I like the Magician in the traditional RWS deck though there are so many positive things about him. But, I’m absolutely in love with the Magician in the Everyday Witch Tarot deck.
He has such an enigmatic vibe.
Is he handsome? Is he attractive?
Not really.
But you can’t help looking at him. It’s like he’s your idol on a magic stage.
The Magician stands out with his red robe and green background.
Gosh. I love green, especially this shade of green. I’m not an artist, so I can’t tell what shade of green it is. I want an outfit with this green color, the color of prosperity, growth, and abundance.
And then the red roses match his red robe. I hate red because it’s an aggressive color, but I love red in this image, probably, because it suits the Magician so well.
Doing magic with a black cat. Having a big wooden altar. Those are also my dream.
This scene is just so beautiful beyond my limited descriptive words.
All the tools on his altar must be one set. They’re all silver and simply sophisticated. They’re working in synchronicity.
These 4 are enough for him to create fantastic magic. He doesn’t need to accumulate a lot of beautiful brand things.
Another thing that impresses me is his calm demeanor. It doesn’t look like he has to try very hard or focus intensely. Magic just naturally flows from his hands.
I’ve seen a lot of Magicians on AGT. The one that closely matches this Magician is Shin Lim. I like him, firstly, because he’s not loud, or runs around the stage, laughing loud trying to create an exciting atmosphere. He just slowly calmly performs with his cards. His smile charms ladies. His tricks never fail to surprise the audience. Even celebrities who have seen famous magicians or illusionists up close idolize him and keep praising him over and over.
Young children look up to him and believe in magic.
General Meaning
The Magician is all about self-confidence and personal power.
You have all the tools that you need to accomplish your goals.
But in real life, it’s hard to believe we, ourselves, are the magicians. Our mind keeps telling us: “This is the reality. Be realistic. You can’t create magic. Oh, and what do you have anyway?”
“What do I have to manifest my dream life?”, I’ve always wondered.
Take a look at the 4 tools.
-          Cups: creativity, emotional intelligence, relationships, intuition, love
-          Pentacles: money, financial resources, real-life experience, health, possessions
-          Wands: passion, spirituality
-          Swords: mental energy, intelligence, communication, clarity
And the point is, I don’t need too much of anything. I just need to have enough to start working and get things done.
I started a minimalistic lifestyle over 5 years ago. Having said that, I still can’t call myself a minimalist because my room has stuff that I seldom use. I declutter every now and then. Still, there’s unnecessary stuff lying around.
And I don’t just mean the objects that I own. My phone and my laptop have apps that I rarely use. I have a lot of knowledge that hasn’t been put to practice yet.
And, I still have to cope with the thought, “I don’t have enough”, “I’m not good enough”. “I need more tools”, “I need to master another skill and get certified”.
You get the idea.
I have the tools but I don’t know how to best utilize them. I waste them.
As in the famous saying, “If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it.”
Therefore, we must believe we are magicians. Let’s gather our tools, and tell ourselves:
“I have enough. Now, how can I manifest my dream life with all of these?”
Career
If the Magician represents you, awesome. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re a talent, and you’ll surely be successful.
If the Magician represents your candidate or employee, that’s good, too. But be careful because he can fool you with his clever tricks. He could also outsmart you. To manage a Magician, you’d better be a Magician, too.
Jobs
The Magician loves to impress people. His talent, beauty can charm others. He can be:
-         A magician, illusionist
-         An actor, an artist
-         A designer, a movie editor
-         An inventor
Speaking of inventors, do you appreciate the devices that you use every day?
Your laptop, camera, phone, internet, etc. You wouldn’t have these things if those inventors hadn’t believed they could create magic.
Magic is everywhere, and magic is inside you.
Love
The Magician is telling you that you’re in a good status to attract new love. You’re smart and caring. You’re confident and attractive. The Universe is working on your behalf and it will bring you someone who’ll be your match.
If the Magician represents your partner, I’m not sure you’ll going to like it. Think about Shin Lim and other magicians that you know or admire. What do they have in common?
Yes, they’re popular. They can have anyone they want. They understand ladies and know how to attract each one of them smoothly. You wouldn’t want other women to fall for your boyfriend/ husband, would you?
He’s also a sweet and smooth talker. Everything he says makes sense and you can’t win.
Some men can date 2 women at the same time without getting caught. Even if they got caught, they would somehow get away with it.
So, be careful if you decide to date a Magician. Yes, you’ll have lots of great times, but are you sure you’re his only one?
Advice
Trust yourself. Spend some time contemplating all your resources, tools, knowledge, skills, experience, social circle. Ask yourself: “How do I best utilize these?”
When it comes up, it’s a good sign, and you should be glad.
It means:
“Go for it”
“You have enough”
“You are enough”
Go ahead. Create something awesome.

The Fool - Embrace the Unknown
~ Embrace the Unknown ~
First impression
I just love this Fool in the Everyday Witch Tarot deck. Look at this young lady, she’s so free. She’s just happy to be free from the norm, from society, and excitedly stepping into a new world.
Clear sky, blue ocean, gentle breeze. I feel so happy just by looking at this image. I wish I could enlarge it, make it a poster for my bedroom.
A sense of freedom, acting carefree like a fool. We, adults, have forgotten this feeling for so long. When we were young, we were taught to act properly, dress nicely, be careful with our words and be cautious with everyone and everything around us. We feel defensive all the time. Everything we do must have a purpose, and most of the time, that purpose is to please others, to prove yourself to others, and impress others.
Have you ever walked outside in pajamas? Wearing pajamas is comfortable, isn’t it?
I guess not. Because people would laugh at you, saying you’re the fool.
We plan everything we do to achieve something great in the future. If we don’t see or can’t predict the bright future, we won’t do it.
When was the last time you felt completely relaxed at work? Or, maybe you have never felt that way at work. Must put on a professional face, mustn’t you? You have to do so even though you’re excited on your first day at work. You can’t act like the fool.
I like the cat sitting behind her. Though he’s scared, he’s still following his owner. Such a courageous cat! He’s scared but he’s doing it anyway.
The 2 birds are flying around freely in the sky. I always dream to become a bird, a free creature who can fly high, travel anywhere, and see things objectively from above.
I have wanted to have this feeling for so long: a sense of freedom, no attachment, no responsibility, no care in the world, no complicated thoughts, no plan, the excitement of traveling, discovering a new land, a new culture.
Speaking of travel, traveling light is also an art. Though I’m a minimalist, I can’t imagine traveling without a big backpack or a large suitcase. Well, I’m a careful person.
When your Tarot reader tells you “You don’t need much. Just carry what you need for your trip, like this Fool, traveling light.” I think they mean you only need your ID card or passport, a smartphone, and a credit card.
Take that advice if that resonates with you. I wouldn’t, though.
Anyway, even though she’s a fool, she’s the one that we, the smart ones, should learn from.
Career
You’re feeling excited and eager for you’ve just started a new job in a new field, a new project, something you’ve never done before. This new beginning doesn’t promise success, but it has a lot of potential for improvement and expansion. You have a great opportunity to learn a new skill, to network with new people who could play an important role in your career development. Who knows?
You could travel for work. You could meet and work with people from different cultures or backgrounds.
The only flaw that the Fool may have is that she’s not serious or not really committed to the work when things get a little bit challenging.
Blame her? Pointing out her mistakes? Trying to discipline her? Threatening her? You would just be wasting your time. She would laugh it off and might make the same mistakes again because she doesn’t understand how much that project or that company means to you.
Don’t be so offended. She’s just an innocent child, not a rebellious teenager trying to destroy your work.
Be patient, and be mindful when assigning tasks to the fool. Choose something quite easy and creative, not repetitive, tedious or so complicated things related to finances or contracts, of course.
Jobs
Who doesn’t love this cheerful, innocent, happy-go-lucky personality?
These jobs are great for the Fool
-          Entertainer: actor, singer, musician, comedian
-          Clown
-          Party host
-          Street vendor, festival vendor
-          Youtubers, vloggers
-          Racer
Love
For someone who’s just started a new relationship, the Fool is great because she has so much for you to explore. Every date is a fresh new, fun, exciting experience. You’ll surely be laughing a lot with the fool as your date for she never stops saying funny things, doing silly things.
But as time goes, you desire commitment. And that’s the time when you need the Fool to stop being … The Fool and grow up. Be careful at this stage. If you suddenly become serious and mention your wish to build a family with her, she may run away.
She wouldn’t care if she hurt your feeling. She wouldn’t even know if she did so. She’d just simply think, “Oh, seems it’s not enjoyable anymore, I’m out”.
Advice
Embrace this awesome carefree energy.
Don’t think much about the future. Don’t care about the people.
Just do it.
Do something you’ve never done before and enjoy every moment of it.

Learning Tarot is complicated
It was exciting but also overwhelming at the beginning.
There are up to 78 cards. Not only that, to be on the same level as those amazing readers on YouTube, I should learn Astrology, Numerology, Pendulum, Mythology, working with Angels and Guides, and other Spiritual stuff like Crystals, Reiki, Kundalini, etc. My God! I feel the pressure already while listing those subjects here.
And meditation? Some say it’s compulsory for anyone working in the spirituality industry. So ridiculous.
I hate it the most. Doesn’t work for me. I felt so uncomfortable doing it. Forget it. I never meditate.
…………
So,
Why was I in the rush?
Because I wasn’t a teen or 20 something when I started learning Tarot. I had to work and other boring duties and chores to do. I had to take good care of my lovely children (meaning, my 3 cats). I had to master it as quickly as possible.
I enrolled in a 10-hour long online Tarot course. But I knew that much wasn’t enough.
I, then, did more Tarot courses, read articles, watched free YouTube tutorials, bought books and e-books, etc., and most importantly, watched tons of YouTube Tarot videos.  I wanted to become pros like them so bad: having big beautiful crystals and sage around, owning hundreds of Tarot decks and working well with all of them, giving amazing accurate messages to viewers they haven’t even met.
But, then…I felt exhausted, stressed, confused, and overwhelmed.
Still, I continued to learn.
And, it took me over a year to realize that most of the things I had learned didn’t align with me at all.
And, I am me. I don’t have to become someone like them.
It’s quite painful to realize that those YouTube videos and Instagram posts are nothing but something that put me, and other Tarot beginners in a mental trap that we have to master many spiritual subjects, owning lots of cleansing tools and crystals and candles and tons of decks, and acting mysterious to be called a Tarot reader, a mystic, or whatever. Those things are just a show-off to fool people’s eyes. The truth is, a realistic mature client just wants to receive clear guidance and see where they’re heading. That’s it. They don’t care about those colorful crystals, candles, and other stuff. Those things are just tools to attract young clients or people crazy about fashion and trends. A real authentic reader just needs to dress clean and neat. A tidy desk, 1-2 decks, and something to cleanse the working space. That’s it. They don’t need to try so hard to prove anything.
……………..
I felt so angry and disappointed in myself.
I had wasted so much time, money, and energy on so many videos and courses.
Here’s the lesson I learn about learning:
“Understand who you are and understand what kind of mentor or material you’re learning from”
I’m a detail-oriented, realistic, simple, organized, minimalistic person. I don’t like drama. I want to know what the exact problem is and what the specific solution is. I see things as black and white. It’s a yes or no, no maybe for me. Therefore, I should learn from people who have the same personality and see things as I do.
I’m also a loyal person, which means I’m loyal to a few decks. The other decks keep resting in the cabinet.
I’ve learned that
-          I only need 1-3 decks to look into matters, seek guidance and predict the future.
-          Oracle Cards deliver beautiful messages, but they’re not necessary. They don’t add much depth to the reading. They just help to relieve the pain in your heart.
-          Essential crystals: Clear Quartz, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Selenite. Amethyst is the most important one for boosting psychic abilities and predicting the future.
-          Cleansing tool: Palo Santo. It’s clean, safe and I can take a piece of Palo Santo anywhere without being afraid it may break or make a mess in my bag. Also, it smells good.
So, how do I learn Tarot now?
-          I rarely watch Tarot YouTube videos nowadays. The messages seem not to resonate with me much. Besides, I want to hear specific messages, not general all the time.
-          I only use 1 Tarot website and 2, 3 Tarot books for reference. I read and re-read the card meanings from those materials.
-          Sometimes, I write card meanings for myself. It’s nothing serious. I just look at the cards and write what comes to mind.
-          I do readings.
The key point is: Less is More.

What got me into Tarot
It all started in February 2019, when I met Rain.
He was one of my first clients when I just started working from home, so I still remember exactly the date I met him.
At first, I didn’t have a good impression.
We had a Skype session together. He was awkward, didn’t answer my questions properly. He was sitting in a dark room. Maybe he thought the light coming from a computer screen was enough. That wasn’t good for his eyes at all. Though he wasn’t short-sighted and didn’t have to wear thick glasses as I did, he should have taken good care of his eyes.
He was wearing a dark-red sweater and a brown Beanie. I couldn’t tell the exact colors of his clothing due to the poor lighting.
Later, I learned that he’s a Virgo. I wasn’t interested in Astrology at that time. It’s just that he’s my astrological neighbor as I’m a Libra.
The first session was awkward, and I thought he wouldn’t book sessions with me again. I mean, I could make money if he did, but …whatever. I didn’t care much.
But…to my big surprise, he purchased 8 sessions with me right after that.
………………
As we were working together, he started to grow on me. It felt so strange because he wasn’t my type at all. I like interesting creative passionate people who are open-hearted to all kinds. He, however, was robotic, aloof, and frankly, boring. I couldn’t feel his passion though he could play many kinds of instruments. He had talents, but perhaps, because he’s not passionate enough, he couldn’t make it in the music industry?
Anyway, I couldn’t tell how he felt when working with me and about me at all because his face didn’t show any emotion. However, I know he’s a sensitive, serious, and smart man because he worked hard, did what I said, cooperated with me well. It was a pleasant experience working with him although it was awkward at times.
I desperately wanted to know how he felt about me. I googled psychology blog posts, dating articles, and YouTube videos, hoping to find a useful tutorial that taught me how to guess a man’s feeling, perhaps based on his attitude, the way he talked, body language, etc. Of course, I searched and watched lots of YouTube videos because I was so lazy reading articles.
While I was searching on YouTube, I came across a Tarot video “How does he feel about you? Pick-a-card Reading”. I thought, “Oh my God! Such a thing exists?”. I heard about the Tarot 20 years ago, knowing that was used for fortune-telling. At that time, I tried to learn but didn’t have time. I hadn’t even seen a real Tarot session in action because I didn’t know the existence of YouTube, and I didn’t dare see a fortune-teller because that idea was kind of scary, though I was curious. Also, Tarot knowledge was too much for me. My high school drove me crazy enough. Spirituality was never my interest, so I stopped learning after 2 days.
That was such a surprising discovery. I clicked on that video, and …was stunned by what I heard, like “You’re a Libra, dealing with a Virgo.”; “He’s cold and aloof”. And this part, “He holds you in high regard”, “He wants to make a move but he’s scared because he’s in a codependent relationship”. Certainly, there’s no way I could verify that information, but I was pleased to hear that.
Before I knew it, my YouTube suggestions were all Tarot videos. I watched Monthly forecasts, weekly forecasts, love readings, career readings, pick-a-card readings. I got excited every time I stumbled upon a 1-hour long Tarot video. I couldn’t believe there’s such a generous person who was willing to do such a long reading for free.
………..
A month or so passed by
I started to get frustrated because I felt like I was imagining things turning out beautifully as said in the readings. I didn’t know how much of the reading and what resonated with me anymore because it was a “general reading”. I was anxious and afraid because that negative outcome could come true, or felt it was unfair if the other Libras got their bright future while I didn’t. I’m a detail-oriented person. Whenever I say something, it’s specific, NOT general. I want to see the truth, the clear details, my likely future. Therefore, I decided to learn Tarot, and this time, it’s serious. I learned to read for myself, to predict my future, and make the right decisions.
And although after 2 years, I’ve still been learning it consistently. I’m surprised at myself, really, because the Libra me had been superficial for so many years. I hadn’t been passionate about anything. I had learned a lot of subjects, tried many things, but gave up after a few trials and failures.
Tarot, and divination in general, is the only thing that I’ve stayed consistent with till now.
…………..
Rain stopped working with me after about 25 sessions. Then, we lost contact.
Based on the readings in my early days of Tarot, he just loved working with me and thought I was a true professional and provided him with valuable useful knowledge. There was no romantic feeling whatsoever.
I wasn’t sad. It was a sweet time [6 of Cups] that I would remember forever.
The meeting with him completely changed my career path.
If I hadn’t had a crush on him (a strangely normal boring person), I wouldn’t have discovered Tarot again and never become a diviner.
I thank the Universe for bringing me this strange awkward life-changing encounter.
