it’s always hilarious to me how the show manages to portray steve as both the town’s cassanova and terminally bitchless. everybody wants him yet he still can’t find a girlfriend. my only conclusion to this is that while all the bittanys and jessicas in hawkins are fighting over who gets to ask steve out on valentines day he’s over there tragically sulking because he was destined to be the princess trapped in a high tower by a dragon saved by the knight in shining armor and is doomed to be trapped in the body of a hot twenty year old dude. to any outside observer it doesn’t make sense how he doesn’t choose any of the hot girls who are desperate for him to ask them out, but to those who know steve they know he’s just waiting for someone to romance him. and because of how young women work the fact that he’s still single and chronically unhappy just makes him even more desirable, because now not only is he hot and a nice guy he’s also pathetic and that is kryptonite to middle class women. robin keeps tearing her hair out watching how many hot women launch themselves at her wet cat bestie meanwhile steve is over there wondering if eddie likes guys and if pretending to enjoy metal music is worth the migraine just to be noticed by his crush, and the inevitable conclusion being that he’s going to die alone.

i think the funniest way to do vampire eddie in a no upside down au is to do a modern au where eddie was turned in the 80s and that's why he still dresses like that. like. the party's all gen z or whatever and there's just. baby boomer vampire. dustins like wow you must be centuries old i bet you know so much cool history shit and eddie's like actually i think i went to high school with your parents. eddie's making out with steve and then remembers steve was born in the early 90s and he cringes so hard he turns inside out

I just finished my season 4 rewatch and I just have to say, what the fuck was Argyle doing during the final scene? He's the only main character in Hawkins who was not in that sequence. How far into the woods did he disappear to not notice all seven other people at the cabin walking out to that hill? WHAT IS HE DOING??

I love steddie. I do. With all my heart. It's my favorite ship of all time. 100% real no clickbait 1 link mega.

And I love the fandom adopting the idea that Eddie is gay, and Steve is bisexual (and often Eddie is Steve's bi awakening, that feels accurate), but I'm also very hyped about the idea of Eddie learning he's bi because he has a brief crush on Chrissy.

I can picture him so easily after speding half an hour with Chrissy in the woods his mind going like "I thought I was into guys?!?! what's happening???", and then blushing because she was adorable all the time and then learning that he was wrong all the time by sterotyping her for being a cheerleader, thinking to himself "well I think it's time to rethink a few things", and then everything goes holy shit and he gets to know Steve and he goes like "ok, yup, so apparently I've got a type and that happens to be layered jocks with unfitting reputations, hearts of gold, 80 pound sweet pupper energy, impossibly huge eyes and smiles that can eclipse the sun. I'm fucked."

The reason Steve doesn’t have success in dating after high school/his relationship with Nancy, has nothing to do with him being stuck in Hawkins at a minimum wage job. It has everything to do with the fact that he’s fundamentally changed in the last two years and yet, he’s still chasing the same type of women he wanted when he was King Steve.

That’s what Dustin is trying to tell him at Scoops the summer of 1985. And it clicks for a minute for Steve when he mistakes his friendship with Robin for romantic attraction, but then Robin rejects him and Steve goes back to chasing the girls King Steve chased. Because obviously it didn’t work with a nerdy girl, so they must not be his type. 

But neither are the popular girls he’s chasing because they still see him as King Steve. The cocky and charismatic King of Hawkins High. 

But Steve’s not that person anymore and he never will be again for reasons he can’t explain to these girls. And they don’t get it. They don’t get how the so-called King fell so far because they haven’t witnessed the new and improved version of Steve. 

But you know who has? 

Eddie. 

Nerdy, hyper, over-the-top dramatic Eddie who no longer sees Steve as King Steve, but rather the new and improved Steve who cares deeply about his friends and will do everything to protect him. 

Which is why they would have been the perfect couple if the Duffers weren’t cowards
